Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

Nope by default only your Credit card is on the resort folio for charging back to your room. You have to actually stop at the front desk to setup / split charging to another guest's Credit card.

Your family member will use your resort folio for all normal resort / park charges except for Mobile Orders when using a MB, Disney MobileMagic pass or a RF ID room key.

Mobile Orders are charged to the payment option chosen when paying for the mobile order.

Has anyone been to the pools lately? If so how are the crowds? Any wait to get in?

We were there Thurs, Fri, and Sat. Pools were glorious. Easily able to snag shaded loungers or front row loungers immediately. Often we were the only family at the splash pad. Easily grabbed a table of our choice at either pool for meals.

On Saturday, we went to the pool near DVC rooms (Oasis?) and there were maybe 4 families there?

Compared to the pool at SSR, where it was essentially people soup, it was night and day.

Were cast members checking if you had a reservation to gain pool access? Do you still use your magic band to open the pool gate? Thanks!

My family and I are staying at CBR during Memorial Day weekend and I'm trying to make realistic plans for riding the Skyliner to DHS in order to get there at or close to rope drop. Could someone please tell me what time I would need to get on line for the Skyliner in order to guarantee that I get to DHS by 9:30? Thank you in advance.

Just making sure you realize you posted this in the Poly thread. I think you meant it for the CBR thread here: https://www.disboards.com/threads/disneys-caribbean-beach-resort-information-questions.3461094/

Is there any benefit to checking in early? Our trip is in 30 days, the app seems to have an option to check in? Why is that available now?
Did you ever receive a direct answer to your question on this? I was wondering the same thing. We're not going until Dec but the "Check In" button has been active on Disney site since we booked our room. Curious...

I just do it as soon as I'm reserved to have it done.

Nothing is charged until your arrival date anyway.

I expect us to change drastically once the rest of the resort opens later this summer. That is when we are there, even though we are in DVC villas, I do expect the pools to be much busier than now.

I agree we may be in for some rough times at the Lava Pool if current distancing is still in place come late July.

It’s hard enough to find a chair sometimes even in non-socially distanced times.

This is what the Lava Pool was like in the middle of hot days in July and September. I'm going to miss it. 😢

I ended up following advice from this board and I clicked check-in about a week before the trip. It was very simple and really is just them getting info you would normally give at in-person check-in, and setting up a 4 digit pin for our Magicband purchases. I didnt get my room number til the day of arrival. Our flight arrived at 1:00pm, when I took my phone out of airplane mode, our room number was loaded. I did end up getting my request for a 3rd floor room! The view was very beautiful! I also followed advice from here, and I did not add any room request info during the online check-in, because I was told it would override the request I had the DVC member that I rented points from make for me.

Thanks for the info. Like I said we're not going until December, but I'm going to check in today just to see what options are there:)

Honestly there’s no reason not to do online check in ASAP, just so you don’t forget to do it. The only caveat I would give you is to ignore the room request field on the online form, and either call Disney and have them place any room requests on the reservation or utilize Touring Plans’ subscription service. The online form is extremely limited in what you can put for requests (it’s a drop down menu, not a free text field), and sometimes even lists incorrect options.

If I do online check-in, can I still cancel the room reservation?
Occasionally, I had to cancel or modify a trip at the last minute, so I don't check-in until I'm at the airport waiting for the flight to Orlando.

Yep, no worries at all. Online check in has no impact on the cancellation terms of your reservation.

I am going through online check-in and it says Room Requests, it says "None selected." TP sent off my request a few weeks ago. Is this normal?

The requests during online check-in are in no way related to what you requested through another means. Leave it blank or it will override whatever you submitted another way.
