Disney's New "Magic your Way tickets" and 2005 Packages

I have to admit I'm confused!!! I purchased a 4 day park ticket from the Disney Store last month but we aren't going to DW until Oct. 2005. Are my tickets still good? Will I have any problems?

Thanks,

Lori

You won't have any problems. All of this goes in effect on Jan. 2, but any previously purchased tickets will be honored in the same way they always have.

*The only exception to this is that starting today (Dec. 2) any "one day one park" tickets purchased between today and Jan. 2, will no longer be valid after Jan. 8, 2005.

Is the additional cost to add on Park Hopper or Magic Plus pack the same cost for children?

jjohnson, yes the same price according to my matrix I printed. It's just the "base price" that is different.

I think this is taking place of the Magical Gatherings options as well as adding incentives for those staying at non-Disney hotels. That way when you come they hope you spend your time (and Money) at Disney and not Universal or Seaworld.

This all very confusing to me but I think I got it. I was making my reservations by Dec. 15 so I guess I could keep it but should I? Maybe Brian or someone can fill me in. I'm going with my 2 grandchildren in my room ages 5 and 7, and my brother and his wife and daughter (16yo). We were planning on using the Dreamaker Pckge with Silver Plan but would it be cheaper to go with these new deals? We do intend to use the waterpark feature and would like to go to Disney Quest, we're going 7/6 to 7/11, the parks are opened later and we figured we could do some things during the day and others at night. Any thoughts or recommendations from those of you who understand these new tickets? Any help would be appreciated.

I think I did this right. If I do the base price ticket. I'll save over $500.00! We were only going to hop on 3 of the days anyway & go 1 afternoon to TL so I can live without it.

I actually like the idea of being limited to the parks. We'll probably enjoy the resorts more too. :D

Am I the only one thinking I will have to spend more? We are going 3 days so it seems like I need to budget more.

I can't answer what would be a better deal between the current DreamMaker package and the Magic Your Way, you'll have to do a little research on the new options to see what would be better for you.

However, should you decide that the Magic Your Way is the better option, I'd recommend booking your room under the Basic Plan, that way you get the room you want, then after Jan 2nd. Modifying your package to the Magic Your Way tickets.

I hope they come out with some great package deals including hotel to kick off these new passes. I'll be waiting to see. :flower:

Forgive me if this is a really stupid question...but I'm a Disney Newbie and booked a 9 day package for April 2005--staying at ASMo and using the UPH tickets.

Does this new plan change anything that I've already booked---or I guess I'm asking, is it worth me to call and see if these "lower" rates apply to what I've already booked?

Thanks for any help.

I was going to book a Dream Maker Silver package for May. How can I find out which is better? I was going to do this next week should I wait.....?

Well, the silver package won't exist anymore. So you have to do the MYW dining plan.

I was wondering if I have to use the sit down for my DS 11. He'll end up eating hamburgers, pasta or something & I'd rather pay for him & use his for the (2) sit down options.

This was taken from a post I started on July 22, 2003 just after we returned from WDW.

During our trip to WDW last week, my husband was approached at the Studios. He asked to join a focus group at a designated time/place and told he would be compensated. He decided to participate. The purpose of the group was to get folks opinion of new meal plan options. There were several different variations:

Kids Eat Free - children 3 to 9 eat free with purchase of adult meal, beverage included, offer available at any food/beverage location on property

All-Inclusive (sit-down) - 3 meals per day with non-alcoholic beverage, one snack, available anywhere on property, appetizer and dessert included with sit-down service, $45 per day for 1-2 days, $42 per day for 3-4 days, $39 for 5+ days

2-Meals Per Day (sit-down) - 2 meals with non-alcoholic beverage, available anywhere on property excluding fine dining locations (CG, Flying Fish, Chefs de France, V & A, and Alfredo's), appetizer and dessert included at sit-down meals, $29 per day for 1-2 days, $27 per day for 3-4 days, $25 for 5+ days

All-Inclusive (quick/counter service) - 3 meals per day with non-alcoholic beverage, available at any quick/counter service location on property, appetizer and dessert not included, $17 per day for 1-2 days, $14 per day for 3-4 days, $13 for 5+ days

2 Meals Per Day (quick/counter service) - 2 meals per days with non-alcoholic beverage, offer available at any quick/counter service location on property, appetizer and dessert not included, $11 per day for 1-2 days, $10 per day for 3-4 days, $9 for 5+ days

Refillable Mug - All fountain drinks, available at any food and beverage location on property, excluded alcoholic beverages, $15 for 1 day, $19 for 2 days, $22 for 3 days, $24 for 4 days, $25 for 5 or more days

Free Drinks with Meals - offer available with the purchase of a meal, at any quick counter service location on property, excludes alcoholic beverages

The participants were asked to listen to all the options and give their opinions of the plans. My husband said he preferred the 2 meal per day plans, they would work best for us. He was there about an hour and a half and we were given $100 in WDW gift certificates.

I don't know how likely it is that any of these plans will ever be offered to the public but it is interesting that the company is considering some of these. Are they wanting customers to eat more food while they are visiting WDW or are customers eating off property more?

So this has been an idea that Disney has been toying with for a long time, if DH was involved in a focus group in 7-2003.

I think it is a pretty good idea. I would love to see the dining plan be available for those with an AP as well, but I don't expect it.

Very interesting post!

You'd think they'd have to do something for AP holders....if I'm thinking correctly, with the new prices of 7 day passes ($199) it would be hard for me to justify the cost of an AP...I'd have to spend 14 days in the parks/year just to break even...

I think the Dream Maker Packages with Add Ons will cease to exist.
Now you'll choose your MYW ticket, pick a resort, and be able to choose between the $35/night "Meal Package" or the "Premium Package" that incudes all meals and recreation (cost not yet known?)

I just called Disney to see if they had price amounts available, and was told that Dream Maker will be no more after Jan 1, 2005. I was told that anyone can change their Dream Maker to the New package without penalty from Jan 2nd thru Feb. After Feb their is a $50 penalty within 45 days of travel.

With the Meal package, do you have to use them daily. Like, I would not eat a sit down and counter service during one day (I prefer one "good" meal and "snacks"), so could I use the counter one day and then the sit down the next day. If so I don't need to buy vouchers anymore!!!!

I love the new meal add on feature. One major question, and I don't think it has been talked about by Disney, publically anyways. What about AP holders? I was going to rebuy my AP for my January trip. Now I might not want to. (but how will I get DH to believe I am saving money? LOL) I won't have a problem keeping the AP rate on my room as DS's AP won't be expired yet, but if I can't add on a dining plan with an AP I might just stop getting an AP. hmmmm any ideas what Disney might have up their sleeve?
