Disney's Magical Express

Just wondering if anyone has ever taken this and how their experience went

It's a terrific service!! I've used it about 5 times now. But, you may want to post this over on the Transportation board...we have a ton of DME discussions over there.

It is perfectly fantasic. So easy, and because you do not have to wait for your luggage (if you checked luggage) you are on your way in no time. The bus is always cool and comfortable. And the trip is enjoyable. Except when you are leaving to go home, of course :-(

We used ME in '05 and the service was great. It is a great way to start your vacation. Our luggage arrived in a timely manner. On our trip back to the airport, we were the only ones on the bus. The drivers were very friendly. Can't wait to use it again on our next trip.

From the second I walk off the plane to check in at resort less then 2 hours total. Usally 1.5 hours

question for you all - earlier a poster said that you don't have to wait for luggage - do you get special tags with the Disney hotels on them so they know where to send your bags? We're renting DVC points from a member, how do we get the Magical Express?

leahjade - You need to register for Magical Express with Disney, that way they know you are coming in and can plan to transport you. They will send you a packet in the mail with all the info you need, including luggage tags that have your name and where you are staying.

If you rent from a DVC member, the member has to arrange for DME. Give the person you rented from your flight into and they can make the arrangements.

As of this writing, there are about 52 responses to the OP's question, and I think all but one of them are positive. Even the negative one isn't a harsh negative.

DME has been very successful and very well-received. If you want a quiet, private, personalized ride that you will pay for, then you should book a car service. But if you want free, efficient group transortation to your resort, then go ahead and make your DME reservation.
