Disney's Magical Express shuttle service

Does anyone know how many resorts could be on one trip? That's the only thing that worries me, we'll be stuck on a bus going to 10 resorts before ours.

Another reason why I'll pay for a rental or car service. Its these little things that get to me on vacation - after all the waiting, I don't want to wait anymore. I'll pay a little more and relax a little more.

As I've said before, I don't like the shuttle because you don't leave until it's full and then if you just miss it you have to wait for the next one. It's not the way I would want to start my vacation. Don't forget, the shuttle makes stops too and you could be the last stop.
It is well worth the extra to have my own car waiting for me.

This may sound great for some people but I still prefer getting my luggage only for fear that they all made it! How does the person know that is getting it know how many pieces there are? I just feel better knowing that I have my luggage.
Your luggage could be misplaced even without this special service. Make sure you have a well packed carry on just in case. This is good advice even if you are handling your own luggage transfer. Also, since they will be making this run constantly throughout the day, your luggage will show up at the resort as long as the tags are on them. If they miss it on the first trip they can catch it on the next. The luggage does not go on your bus with you, it goes on its own shuttle.

as for bypassing baggage claim that depends on your airlines. currently american airlines, song, delta, united, ted and the site said more carriers will probably be added, will have their luggage picked up/dropped off by disney cms on seperate transport to be at your wdw resort upon check in & then delivered back on your departure to the airline/airport. however if you're not using one of these participating airlines you simply collect your own baggage & meet at the wdw kiosk on the orlando mco ground floor for shuttle transportation.
Just spoke to a CM again and they said if you are not flying on a participating airline you DO NOT collect your own baggage on the flight in to Orlando. They will collect for you just as if you were on the participating airline. The difference plays out on your return flight, leaving the resort. You can NOT check your luggage at the resort, you have to take it with you on the "transport" and check it at the airport yourself.
