Disney's Magical Express -- Luggage Tag Info

Alright -

1) we leave 2/5 - when should I start thinking about calling them because we didn't get them? Meaning, how long should I go before I call and ask if they have been sent?

2) there are 6 of us - 2 rooms. Both rooms I booked, but my nanny and her sister are in the other room. Will their tags be sent to them or to me? Just want to tell her to be on the lookout if they are coming to her!

3) we booked through DU - will the tags go to them first then, or right to me?

Thanks!

Cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. You should expect your DME packet to arrive anytime now..usually get sent out 4-5 weeks before trip departure. If you go 2 weeks, from now, without seeing them, then call DME to be sure they have your info.
2. The packet, with tags and vouchers, get sent to the primary person on the reservation...that would be you. You made the reservations, you will get the packet.
3. I have had it done both ways. I believe that now, DU is having the packet sent directly to the guest.

I only received 1 tag for each of us. How do I get more?
Call DME, number is in the packet, and request more tags.

wow - that was so easy - they were so friendly - more tags are on the way to us and I am really excited!

I have recieved all my DME stuff in the mail...but I have made a last minute change from POP to WL ..when I called to ask for new tags for my luggage ( I really don't want my bags going to POP by accident) she told me to just cross off POP with a sharpie and write Wilderness Lodge and my bags will find it to the right place....this makes me a little nervous..anyone else have experience with doing this??? TIA :lovestruc

This is the standard way things are done, and we've never read of any problems from the many people who've followed this procedure.

The most important part of the tag is the barcode; the barcode is the computer-language version of your Disney resort reservation number. The barcode is scanned, and they get your reservation info ... they know where you're staying and thus where the bags need to go to. Your reservation number didn't change. So when your barcode is scanned, your bags will be routed to Wilderness Lodge.

They want you to cross out Pop so that a helpful CM doesn't see your Pop-tagged bag in the area for WL bags, and then does what he thinks is the right thing by grabbing your bags out of the WL area and putting them into the Pop area. I hope that makes sense.

So yes, carefully cross out Pop Century, and write in Wilderness Lodge. if it makes you feel any better, you can also cross out the letters "AK" from inside the Mickey head and write in (next to it) "MK" instead.

We leave in 27 days and no pkg yet. If it is not on there is it too late for them to add it???

Help:confused:

just call and verifiy the ressie. even if the tags don't show up its no biggie. but if you are worried that they don't have you down, its just a call away. better to do it now and ease your mind than to worry about it.:goodvibes last trip we didn't get our tags either but our reservation was still listed when I called. We chose to collect our baggage and bring it with us but you can just give them a discription of your bags and claim check number...it's worked for others.
Hope you have a wonderful vacation!

Just got the tags today with no flight info.

There is a bar code at both ends about 18" long. Is that one tag or do I seperate in the middle and make 2 tags?

IT'S ONE TAG!!!!!!! Sorry to shout :teeth:

It should be about 12"-14" long and about an inch or inch and a half wide. Do NOT separate it horizontally - what looks like perforations is just cuts to allow it to fold into the booklet more easily. If you have two or more tags, you can/should/need to separate them vertically - one for each suitcase/traveler.

Loop the yellow tag through the suitcase handle. Remove the square backing from (only) each end of the tag - do NOT remove the bulk of the backing. Adhere the two exposed adhesive ends together as squarely and securely as possible.

If we use the ME luggage tags, but don't ride the bus (we will be renting a car for our stay) will they still deliver our luggage to our room?

I also received my DME packet, however it had 'no flight info" listed. I had called and added this over a month ago and I believe I saw the flight numbers on my online reservation when I paid in full.

Do I need to call them and get this corrected? More importantly, do they really need this information, or am I ok b/c I have my booklet and yellow tags?

One recommendation: Make sure you put your cell phone number on your luggage tags! We used Magical Express to the Polynesian in September, and our bags were delivered to the wrong room! The people in that room had been there for a couple days, so it wasn't a simple mix up. Bell services were not able to find them. Fortunately, the person who's room they were delivered to called the number on my tag and we were able to get them back!

Can the 4 of us check more than 4 bags at BWV when we check out? Using Delta. Or did I read it is 1 bag max each now?

As long as those bags have been paid for, I can't imagine that you wouldn't be able to check them with RAC.

Thanks, you made me think of another question related.

On the return flight, at BWV I assume you can "pay" right there for checked bags correct (I think its $25 on Delta EA), you dont "prepay this somehow do you? And also get your boarding pass.

I know that some people have reported being able to pay for their bags right at RAC, but that hasn't been my experience at BW. I just pay the fees the day before, right to BAGs. But, that may not be the case now. The last time I flew it was in Dec and I flew on JetBlue..so didn't need to pay any extra fee.
