Hey everyone, after checking out Jenn's honeymoon registry I noticed a couple of things (like MNSSHP tickets) that I didn't notice before... when I went to go add it to our registry, there were a TON more options! It seems like they've added a lot more restaurants/experiences!! :thumbsup2 I might be crazy, maybe they were there all along, but I just wanted everyone to know that you should go check it out and see if there's anything else you want to add!!

:yay:

I updated mine yesterday! Maybe there are new things added... all I know is I'd rather have that stuff than China! :lmao: My mom is driving me crazy to go get a "real" registry at Macy's... :confused3

:rotfl: I have a "real" one, just because I know there are some people who would rather do that... but seriously, I'd rather have a bangin' honeymoon than get any of that stuff!!! :hyper:

me too!!! me too!!

The only registry we're on right now is the Disney Honeymoon registry! LOL

But also will be adding some "normal" ones like Macy's and Bloomies next week...I wish Ikea had one...and of course we'll probably register with Target....just because they rock.

But really I would also rather if most people gave from the Disney registry...

Lori

I wish the container store had one!!!!!!!!!!! Love that place and I'm the most organized person I know... actually I think it's a sickness that I need to take care of! It drives my DF crazy because everything is put away according to me, so he never knows where anything is! :lmao:

me too also!!! Love the Container Store, even though it's a bit expensive...we just moved in together in April and I told DF (who wasn't my DF yet, just my DBF) that we have to go to the Container Store!! He didn't love it that's for sure! But he's usually pretty patient and good. Besides when we got home I think he apppreciated the obsessiveness of it...(It's the perfect place for people with OCD...seriously)...It's like an enabler...LOL

Are there any other unique place to register with? I'm having trouble thinking of any....

Oh!! And I LOVE Crate and Barrel!!!!! Definitely will register for a few things there! (Though I don't know what yet!)

...and of course we'll probably register with Target....just because they rock.

Target has a notoriously terrible registry system. If you get multiples of the same item, you can only return one; you must have the receipt to return something even if it's on your registry; they will only give you back the lowest price the item has sold for in the last 90 days; etc.

Check out this thread or search the Knot for reviews of Target's registry:

Carrie-

Thanks!! I will totally rethink the Target thing...I don't know if we would end up picking too many items from there anyway...maybe I'll just go with Disney, Macy's, Bloomies, Crate and Barrel and maybe Bed Bath and Beyond?!?

I think most of my items will be from Disney, Macy's or Bloomies though....who the heck knows...to be honest with you all, the whole registry thing is totally overwhelming to me and I LOVE to shop!!! (I think the same thing is going to happen when I start dress shopping in a few weeks...)

IKEA would be GREAT! Cheap for guests, useful for you! :cutie:

Registering can be overwhelming. We tried to pick places that had lots of branches so our guests (who were all over the US) could easily go into the store or online.

Bed Bath and Beyond is by far the best. Great return policy, tons of 20% off coupons, and they will give you CASH for any item under $200. We also did Macy's (only cuz they had our Kate Spade china, but then we discovered lots of cute Martha Stewart stuff), Crate and Barrel, and the Disney Honeymoon registry too. Way more people used the Disney registry than we expected! :thumbsup2

oo carrie I LOVE kate spade china -- do you have a pic?

It is gorgeous, but it is also THE worst-made china ever (she says, having no experience with any other china....). Every order we got, 50% or more of the pieces had chips, blemishes in the gold edging, the pattern didn't continue to the edge, etc. It's awful.... but awfully pretty! :rotfl:

The MNSSHP tickets and all those restaurants were not there at one point. Disney's Honeymoon Registry sends me an update email once a month or so, and at one point a few months ago, they emailed and said they added a bunch of new things.

So you weren't missing anything! :)

Carrie, love the pattern. Sorry, it's not up to par... I saw you mentioned that you liked the Martha Stewart line... isn't it awesome? That's what we're registering for whenever I get my "real" registry. Did you register at macy's for China and then BB&B for your other kitchen supplies (blenders, knives, etc)?

Yes! My fave is the Martha Stewart cake decorating turntable... which will be making an appearance in my trip report soon! :rotfl:

We ended up registering for everything at BOTH places (when possible), on the advice of DH's brother, who got married 2 years ago. It gave people a chance to get the things we wanted even if they only had one store near them, and we kept culling the lists to make sure we didn't get duplicates. Even if we had, we could have returned them! :thumbsup2

So when you recieved one thing from BB&B you took it off Macy's registry?

Okay... I have a question that's probably going to sound really really bad, but I ask for the guidance of you fine ladies in order not to make some sort of horrible faux pas. :worship:

Mike and I will have lived together for three years by the time the wedding rolls around. We have all of the housewares, linens, towels, art, gadgets, electronics, and random junk that we really need. (As a matter of fact, we're going to be having a yard sale to help generate wedding funds!) So, as such... we really don't plan on having another registry besides the Disney Honeymoon registry!

Now, the majority of our friends and some of our family members won't be able to make it down with us, of course. We will be having an at-home receptions when we get back to celebrate with everyone who couldn't be with us at the ceremony. My question is.... how to we *hint* at the disney registry before we get married to these friends who couldn't travel in case they want to contribute? We're planning on having and engagement party to celebrate with everyone up here- is that a good time to let people know of our plans and to spread the word? I don't want to seem greedy (Believe me, I'm just happy to get to go, much less have our wedding there!) but I know that some of our home guests would like to contribute and I just don't know the best way to tell them how! :confused3

Help? :worship:

The best way is still word of mouth... if a parent knows most likely all her friends that are coming will know. Same as FMIL, all her friends will know. For your friends, chances are someone will ask before your wedding and then tell other people... as I said word of mouth is (from what I've heard) the best way to spread the word. Also, your Disney website has a place for that info, so if you wanted to include your at home guests as a way for them to see what you will be up to when you're in Florida, this might be a good way to include them and let them see where you're registered without pushing it on them....

I hope this helps... this was told to me by my mother, who is the queen of proper ettiquite (sp?)! We're having an at home party as well as a couples bridal shower, so I needed to know as well!

I thought that word of mouth was probably the best way, but I really wasn't sure! Part of me feels kind of a little guilty about having the Disney wedding since we won't be able to have all these people there. :worried: I just don't want it to seem like "Hey! We're having a fabulous Disney wedding, but couldn't invite you! Buy us something anyway!" That's NOT who we are AT ALL, and even though I'm sure our family and friends know this and probably wouldn't even venture to think that- I'm still fearful. Maybe doing a wedding blog for those who can't join us? Again- I dunno. :confused3

Thanks for the word-of-mouth reassurance, though! I'm *sure* that the word will be spread- my mom and sister are almost as pumped as I am! :cutie:

Hi. We're in a similar situation by having another thing at home after our Disney Wedding. So, we're trying to spread the word by mouth too. But what we did also is to make a website for our at home wedding that has our Disney Registry on it too. That way, you can directly put in the link and your guests can just click/buy away, as they feel appropriate. It's subtle, but it gets the point across that "Hey, this is all there is."

I hope people don't buy you towels anyway!!
