Disneys holiday tours

They have the Halloween tour info up now, so I would wait a bit and it should show up soon.

Disney tours told me they will have that info at the end of October/ first of November. They want to wrap up Halloween. I also think they want to have a firmer committment to the IASW opening as that is part of the tour

Does anyone know anything else about this tour? I want to take one!

basically a tour guide will walk around with a candle and if others are on the same tour but just different groups, everytime you see them you have to yell out really loud merry christmas or some crazy thing...its kind of funny....what you do is go through all of DL...we didnt hit CA at all...the guide stops at different areas that hold history for DL during christmas...secrets of the tree, go to the mezuzah (sp?) which is something they use for Chanukah, then we went to the Candy palace and got samples of the chocolate mint and pumpkin fudge oh man was that good and if you are there during a certain time before christmas you get one of their homemade candy canes...she talked about Santa Claus and the role that Coca Cola company plays in the way hes perceived today..then you go to Adventureland and learn how to say Merry Christmas in other languages, and learn about Kwanzaa, you basically go through all the areas in DL and learn about the decorations and history...dont want to give it all a way....we got to ride HMH, the train, and IASWH without waiting in lines...then we ended up over by FF refreshment area and they gave us hot cocoa in one of the YOAMD mugs and HUGE gingerbread cookies to eat...when its all over they had reserved us seating right at the end of IASW where the parade started at and we got front row first stop seats plus they gave us a really cute tinkerbell santa pin that you couldnt buy at the park...its a great tour and I encourage anyone who is remotely interested in it to do it....:goodvibes

Wow thanks so much! That sounds amazing...do you know how much it was? I hope I can do it!

Lynn, you got me sold! that sounds like a lot of fun! Maybe we can arrange a mini-meet for those who want to do it!

OMG I hope this is available my trip! Thanks Lynn you always have great advice! :worship:

The tour sounds interesting. I may end up getting an afternoon to myself on the family December visit, so I may take the tour this year. Thanks for the info.

I booked the tour through VP for our upcoming December trip. They will book it officially when it is 30 days out from our date and will call and let me know it has been done. I have never done a tour before and thought it would be a fun experience for DH and I on our anniversary trip. This will also be our first time in DL during the holiday season.

I also am not 100% on this but I believe the tour is only offered in the evening.

Godale when is ur next trip? We will be there on the first offically day of the Christmas parade and fireworks , what do you think my chances are of the tour being available that day? If I remember correctly you can only use VP if you are staying on site.....is that true?

Im not sure when the first day of the tour starts but you are correct about using VP...you have to be staying on site to use them

found this on about.com
maybe a clue as to when the tours will start
Seasonal Disneyland Tours
In 2007, the 2.5-hour "Holiday Time" tour ran November 16 through January 6. It included a chance to learn about and see all the holiday traditions and decorations. It also allowed express boarding for "it's a small world" Holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday and reserved seating for "A Christmas Fantasy" Parade. Cost was $59 per person.

Our dates are 12/10-12/14. My understanding is that you can only use VP if you are staying on site...someone else may be able to chime in if that is not correct. VP could not tell me the specific time our tour will be but he just slated us for the earliest time and then will call us 30 days out with the actual time. I gave him our credit card to reserve it.

How did I miss this thread?!

Lynn, thank you for informing us about the tour!! It looks like fun! I think we'll be doing it this December! :)
