I also got that email for my February stay. It must be the lobby everything else should be done by then.

I saw on Facebook last night someone received one for their June ‘25 stay, as well. I assume they’re trying to renovate a small section at a time so there’s minimal impact to the overall lobby. Shops & BBB now, GF Cafe, then possibly a renovation or repurposing of the tea room? Lobby & front desk area after the holidays?

I almost wonder if they aren’t sure when they’re going to start so are just covering the whole year

I had been following along here a little, did they paint the entire lobby or was it just the upper floors? It doesn’t seem like there should be a ton left to do other than flooring.

From the pictures shown on blogs, and when I was there, it was all upper floors and ceiling. If you do a search of the forums on top right, you should be able to bring up posts showing those pics., if you’d like. I’d hope they will also update the furniture/upholstery as well.

I just have to lol because my last GF stay was at the end of august 2023 RIGHT before the walls came down in the lobby (they were literally up until the morning we checked out) .... and now I am planning an Epic Universe / WDW trip for sometime in 2025 or 2026 which means there's a chance the lobby will be under construction "again."

We may not end up staying at GF, but it's one of my favorite resorts so there is a strong possibility we will!

Hello Dissers ! We are at the GF now. I talked to the manager he said there wasn’t any construction going on. I did walk around some of the grounds and took a few pics. One of the gift shops on the upper level is closed. I forgot the name of it. Attached are some pictures of the GF property.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Convention Center Closing for Refurbishment in Summer 2025

Guests planning on staying at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa next year should keep in mind that, due to ongoing refurbishment work impacting the area, the resort's Convention Center will be unavailable beginning in summer 2025. The convention space is expected to reopen in fall 2025.

As a reminder, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is currently undergoing a major refurbishment project impacting other areas of this Victorian-themed hotel. Guests may be able to see and hear construction taking place around the resort – including the lobby – during daytime hours. Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available throughout the project.

*M. Mouse Mercantile STILL CLOSED for Refurbishment at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. Expected to Reopen July 13.

*Work on the Lobby has NOT STARTED to date.

*6/1/24 (estimated) - Construction outside of Porte Cochere/Monorail Platform area has now been completed. Scaffolding has been removed from the area.

As of 4/17/24, the only visible construction at The Grand was located outside the Main Building. Pictures taken during my trip last week can be viewed below. According to emails sent to guests, as well as blogs, work on the Lobby should begin soon. NO DATES HAVE BEEN GIVEN AS FAR AS START OR COMPLETION DATES. As information becomes available, I will be sure to update this thread (Page 1 included). No information has been given regarding any additional work at this time. I’d appreciate anyone who has trips coming up, if they’d kindly post any new construction indoors or out. I’d love to keep this thread as up to date as possible. Thanks so much!!!

There are (the normal ones not freestyle). When we were there a cpl. weeks ago they opened at 11, but closed pretty early (I think 6?).

Is the walkway to MK currently open? How is it? We have walked from Contemporary to MK in the past (I know this is much further), Swan to Epcot, and Swan to HS. Anyone know how the walk from GF to MK compares to these? Is it safe (well lit) after park closing in the dark?

Swan to DHS is a fair comparison IMO depending on your starting point at GF (original villa building may be a tiny bit further). It's better lit than Swan to DHS under the little bridge by the water to the DHS bus stop area. The MK security is also at one end. You can see the MK boats looping between resorts and the monorails passing by. It's a scenic path compared to CR where you have to cross the street.

Our trip is quickly approaching and we’d like to put in a room request but don’t know if we booked the right category for it. Can someone help?

We booked a standard/resort view (or whatever they titled the cheapest category nowadays). Ideally we would like a first floor room with a view of the monorail. Is this possible with the room category we booked? What building should we request? Have all the rooms been updated or are there still some buildings that have not yet been done?
