With Sugar Loaf no longer offering a club lounge in it's lobby, can you request sugar loaf for resort view rooms (non-club) or no? Thanks.

@Sunshine11 Yes you can . The rooms facing the courtyard pool are resort view. I am not sure if it is water view for the marina side because prior to closure the price was the same.

Call and add a note to your reservation.

FYI you can also request the old deluxe rooms with extra seating since they are no longer a bookable category. Those are resort view/old GV.

Thanks. We stayed in BPK last month and loved GF (even with the lobby and main building construction). Booked a bounceback for next summer but wasn't sure about Sugar Loaf, as for resort view category - Sugar Loaf seems like a nice central building!

Thank you for the update. I am leaning toward keeping my GF booking simply off of a room to room comparison with CR. I am not into the Incredibles and I would like the chance to cross GF off my bucket list!

You’re welcome! We stayed at CR last year and the theme lost its appeal to me plus a few bad experiences that just left a not great taste in my mouth. There’s nothing like the grand with the feeling, the ambience, tranquility. Plus the counter service to me is better than CR.

Yes floors 2-4 have one 5th floor does not for BC, Conch and Sago. SL only has 4 floors so 2 and 3 have a balcony and 4 does not.
I would Call and ask for a room with extra seating because you have a big family OR plan to stay at the resort often OR traveling with teens etc. Then say you also need a balcony .
Then check when you arrive at resort, they at least will know what you looking for if call center doesn’t.

News Flash: GF RPC CM's who had been deployed elsewhere due to construction are being called back to the GF by end of August, at which time they will be participating in a multi-week training schedule. I have no further details.

Contempo did a menu change recently. I haven’t been there since the change but it looks better. Hopefully it is better because it is my least favorite QS on the monorail.

Sago lagoon . Requested near elevator but view is meh. Dd didn’t want to wait so kept because it is a convenient section.

I got the shrimp and grits at GF Cafe and the butternut squash soup (excellent). I wasn't a fan of the plating for the shrimp and grits as most every other time I have this dish, the shrimp are a part of the sauce. It was still very good.

At GF you can override thermostat to 65 . Since mine at home died yesterday and it was HOT I did it 1st thing .

Oh and as I was leaving the energy people said cutting off powere aka no fans would work all morning. A great time to head to wdw !!

Thank you! We have a room booked for early November - the once in a lifetime type of room - and I think I’m going to have to cancel it. We’re now well under 60 days, and I can’t make plans and be excited for it when it’s still so uncertain. I made my plans around my backup, and I’m excited for them now!!

ETA - I don’t mean that to say I’m trying to get you to divulge anything! More just my own frustration with how it all played out!
