Staying at GF in a couple weeks and just made a reservation for bfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

I am assuming I can get there by boat? Would I have to go to MK to transfer or is there a resort line?

My favorite way is to walk to the MK boat dock and get on the WL boat. You can also take the monorail to MK. The boat dock is at the monorail exit.

Hi all, seems like room reservations going out for the next 6-8 months are slim pickings for GF. Curious if others feel if Disney is holding back extra inventory, in addition to the unavailable rooms due to the construction (especially on weeks where schools are closed) for some other reason. Is this just a function of people holding multiple “Hope” reservations , and should we just be checking 30-60 days out going forward or just constantly (hoping that is not the answer lol). Thanks everyone.

Yep I check and nothing then later tons of availability . ??

My strategy is to book something then check. In March I changed our reservation the day before to GF WITH AP discount too!

(Cross-posted with the Polynesian thread) Long story short but we’ve ended up with one night at the Polynesian in the middle of our Grand Floridian stay. I know that bell services will move our bags for us but do you think it would be possible for us to wheel them along the walkway between the two resorts ourselves? When we’ve done a split stay in the past it’s often been quite late when the bags have arrived and so I’d like to leave them with bell services at the new resort so that they’re available when we first have access to the new room.

Yes, I think you could do that. I just returned from a stay at the GF last week and I walked the path from the GF to Poly twice. The path was clear and an easy walk. As a side note - I did a split GF/Poly stay a couple of years ago and had Bell Services transport my bags. I ended up wishing we'd just brought them over ourselves as our Poly room was ready early (nice!) and before our bags arrived from the GF.

I have done that in August with 90+ temps. I felt it was worth it to have my stuff !

I have also walked mine from, bwi to bc, S&D to bwi, CBR to RR. I really don’t like waiting for my stuff lol.

For my mil in December I walked her stuff while she took boat and met her there, Then I also took an Uber with her and her bags another time. Depends on group size but 1 can Uber the bags and other mono over if that helps. I used to drag 3 bags to airline check in way back when my kids in grade school. Why? It was easier to finagle 3 bags vs listening to them complain it’s going home day,

I haven't seen any announcement with dates for the refurb. I'd be surprised if they do it during the holidays.

I'm a little nervous now about the lobby refurb, if it is indeed happening. We're booked in the villas in May and I would be super bummed not to have access to the lobby. Wondering if they would shut the entire lobby down, or if it would just be done in phases.

I think you can do this no problem, though I'd probably just take the monorail.

You can’t transport luggage on Disney transportation.

It took until after4p for our bags to arrive at Cr cl from gf rpc last September. I had been doing my own, now I will again. Not having my stuff frustrates me.
