Disney's Grand Californian

Without giving too much away (writing a trip report) I think the Grand is worth every penny! We bought DVC and after staying in the villas, I will try my hardest not to ever stay anywhere else when at Disneyland!

ABSOLUTELY!! We used our DVC points to stay there in February for 2 nights. LOVED it. I had dreamed of staying at the Grand ever since it opened, but could never afford the $300/night. So now I found myself hooked!!

So, we bought some more DVC points at the GCV.

And then a friend came out and got the 5 for 3 package, and asked me and the kids to join her. Oh yeah!!! 5 days was incredible. We were so relaxed. We went back and forth all day, used the fabulous pool every day, took advantage of the fun GC guest programming, etc. It was one of my best Disney vacations ever- and I have had a LOT of them! OP, it will be worth every penny of that quote you got. You can really relax and not have to do a commando style trip. So different from staying out on Harbor or Katella, or even DLH.

It is more expensive than most other places around. Still have not been able to understand why locals who are close stay at a hotel when they could just drive home and come back the next day or whenever. Use to drive from Culver City daily

We live 20 minutes away and have stayed at the Hotel a few times. That way we don't get caught up in doing chores, cleaning, fixing things, putting away stuff in the garage, washing the car. When we are at the Hotel, we just chill and thats what's great about it. Sit by the pool, go to the parks, what-ever - its relax time then. We go for a few days to just get away.

yep exactly, it makes the weekend like a mini vacation for us locals... sometimes just booking a room for the night is better then driving back and forth speecialy if it's going to be a late late night at the parks! sometimes you just need to ge away from it all!!!! and it has nothing to do with budget either!

$213 is a fantastic price to stay there. We have paid $300+ for discounted rates to as low as 199 for Ap rates....so if that is your hotel choice...BOOK IT

I personally LOVE the GC because it gives me more an "immersed" feeling into the Disey magic. It reminds me of my fav fav WDW hotel, Wilderness Lodge, so for me....

it makes it feel like more like WDW...which in essence means...more of a resort destination instead of a day visit park. that is really it for me.
