Disney's Give a day get a day

We have looked into it. The closest place for us to volunteer is Philadelphia (we are in north Delaware, about 30 miles south of Philly). It seems like a pretty good deal if it will save us few hundred bucks.

Oh we are in NJ and we did it. It was great! The place we volunteered at was a school in Philly thats all I could find also. We planted plants for the teachers while other painted, cleaned, and rolled out new carpets. What I did realize is how much these schools depend on programs like this. I don't know how many tickets you would need but yes it tought us something and saved us like around 400 bucks. Our children are 7 and 9 and I printed pictures for them to take to school and their teachers hung them in the class. We were only there from 9-12:30, we thought it was worth it. If you decide to do it enjoy. We did!

We did it and already got back our certificates! :cool1:

We had a rough start, not much in the area to take our whole family. We got into one only to get an e-mail a few days later that we were no longer needed. But we were able to go through Project Linus and we made blankets. We have done this for them before, but it was fun and will help children in the hospital, so it's OK. We were hoping to do something new to us, but will be doing that on our own now that we saw a good list of places in need.

How long does it take to get the Ticket or whatever it is back? My trip is soon so I did not know if it was too late to do it.

We passed out fliers for Blankets of Love on the 17th and today (21st) we received our vouchers in my email! So less than a week! :woohoo:

does anyone have pictures of the figurine available, or know what the fast pass option is like? I am assuming they willl be like the dream fast passes they gave out during the million dreams promotion?

Our day that we planted plants was on was Mon, Tues we received the thank you letter but we did not get the voucher yet. They say it could take up to two weeks. So far everyone that has written in got theirs before the two week mark.

I signed to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore. The event isn't until March, but I am excited nonetheless.

I do have a question, I thought I read the promo was only good for one household member only, regardless if everyone volunteers - so, is the ticket to the park only good for one person, or for the whole household?

We volunteered Monday and got our voucher yesterday. I would guess it depends how quickly the organization passes the names on.

We volunteered in Edison, NJ. We painted a camp's mess hall and drama room.

For us it was so such a good way to teach our kids how to earn somthing. Our kids are still telling people what they did and I sent pictures to the school, and the teachers shared them with the class and hung them in the hallway. I would do it again. The tickets are such a great insentive. Thanks Disney

We volunteered last weekend at a horse rescue/rehab. 3 adults and my DGS8 (DGD3 was also there and helped out!) This was a great experience for all and had more fun than we thought we could. My grandson who is not comfortable with many animals, really did great. He even said he would do it without the free Disney ticket;). We may go back and help again in the future.
The person in charge at this ranch said to expect up to 2 weeks for the vouchers. Still watching for them.

You need to sign everyone up though on the website. One person as the lead, then make sure to list all of the family members. If they are not listed then they would not be eligible for the vouchers.

Thank you.

I'm trying to persuade DH to join me, but he's a little fearful (for understandable reasons; he doesn't like to see other children so sick), but I have time to reason with him.

We did this for the same reason! It was such a fantastic way for our younger kids to learn about volunteerism and community organization. We just volunteered this week. We were able to make cards for vets and newborn baby baskets for needy families. We were able to do all this from home and just had to drive about 45 to drop off the cards and baskets. I love shopping for baby stuff. :goodvibes
