How many bedrooms do the cabins here have? I went to the Disney site to get this info but they didn't have it. The site just says it accomodates from 6-10 people per cabin.

We were thinking about renting an RV and staying on Disney in 2006. How easy/hard is this to do in terms of having the RV, the hook ups, getting to and from the Disney Parks...can you bring your car? What about the "Comfort Areas", do they get crowded?

I need the scoop on Fort Wilderness basically. I hope this is the right topic I'm posting under.

Tanya, this'll probably get moved, but I can help:

The cabins have one bedroom, with a double bed (I don't think it's queen) and a set of bunk beds. In the living area is a pull-down bed, something like the old Murphy beds the 3 Stooges were always getting folded up in. I *think* they're restricted to 6 people, with the possible exception of a child under 3.

The RV sites aren't pull-thrus, but you can have an additional vehicle on the site. They'll have all the hookups you need; some have cable.

If you're in an RV, you won't need the Comfort Stations, which are basically bath houses. Wait - there are laundry facilities, ice machines, vending, and such. We used to camp at Ft. Wilderness all the time, but I don't ever recall crowds being a problem.

Transportation - there is an internal shuttle that makes the camping loops more or less continually. There's also launch service to the Magic Kingdom, buses for everything else. I think you'll want a car.

Hope this helped!

no you are on the wrong board

you want camping at WDW board - it between disabilities and disney wedding and honeymoons - on the trip planning forums.

the cabins that you rent from FW will sleep 6.

you can have 10 people on your campsite - generally in 2 tents.

I don't know about the campsite that allow a RV if you can also have tent are not.

Yes you can kept your car. if you have too many vechiles - one will have to be parked in the FW parking lot.

I have only used the cabins at FW - so I can't help with the comfort stations - hopefully a moderator will be along shortly and move this for you.

Actually, you should have posted this under the Resorts topic.....

We stayed in a cabin last year and it has 1br with a double and bunkbeds. It also has a fold out couch that sleeps 2. I guess the rest can sleep on the kitchen floor. It only has one bathroom. It has a full kitchen and outdoor deck and grill.

The RV sites have full hookups and space for your tow vehicle or car. You can drive your car in and out of FW, but you're not to use it as transportation w/in the campground. You can ride bikes or rent electric carts. The Comfort areas are located in every camper loop.

The only drawback to FW is that you have to catch a bus to catch another bus. They have busses that go through the campground and either take you to the Outpost to catch busses to the parks (except MGM) or to the Settlement so you can catch a boat to the Magic Kingdom. If you are at the back of the loop, you have a longer walk to the bus stop.

My Aunt & Uncle pull their camper there often and they enjoy it. Rarely do they go to the parks.
