Resort Thread Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS Resort

Been a few years since we stayed at CSR, and last time we stayed in Ranchos, so I need some new info!

1. How common is it for the Tower rooms to have the fire alarm buzz going? Is it only the high floors? (We currently have a standard Tower room booked and trying to decide whether a Village room would be better).

2. What is your favorite thing about CSR? What should we not miss?

A friend had a stay recently, high floor. They did not hear the buzzing. We are headed over tomorrow. I will let you know if we encounter the noise. I think if you report it, and if they have an empty room, they will do their best to accommodate you.

I really like the tower and Club level, I also like the location. We usually stay in the Epcot resort area, and this is the next best location for us. We have our car there now, since we travel by car instead of flying. I find it easy to park at the lot near the Tower.

The theme and decor is very appealing to me, and since the tower is relatively new (2019?), everything is in good condition. My observation is that quality furnishings and finishes were used in the tower, and housekeeping is great. We have stayed only in 2 different versions of suites, but one of our daughters has stayed in a tower king bed room.

I heard nothing from the fire alarm during our stay a year ago in a standard view room (for context, it was a resort only stay with 2 adults, so no young kids).

I've never stayed in non-tower rooms, but I see no clear reason not to return to the Tower. Similar to the previous poster, the big plus was how everything still seemed new. I liked the updated elevator system - never had to wait more than a minute for an elevator even during peak check out hours. I think the dining options in the Tower are a plus. We tried Toledo - I heard it got an honorable mention from Michelin so I was curious to see how much I would enjoy it. I would describe it to other signature dining restaurants on property, but did not like it as much as Topolino's or Jiko for comparison. Dahlia Lounge is also great. We hung out there to watch the NFC championship game - ordered some appies which were great, and the views it provides of WDW is cool. We liked Three Bridges as a more casual dining option, and its location is unique with nice views of the property. Barcelona lounge was a nice play to chill and have a drink or coffee. From the tower there is an indoor walkway to the main building of CSR where check in, gift shop and other dining options are available including El Mercado.

They key con of staying in the tower is that it does not have its own pool. You have to walk across the lagoon which I recall being roughly a 5 min walk or so. We did a resort only stay, so I can't comment on the wait times for Disney buses to get to/from the resort.

To answer your second question, when staying at CSR I say the Tower itself, Barcelona Lounge and Three Bridges are the things not to miss.

I only have one stay under my belt, and it was at the tower a few years ago, but I absolutely fell in love with it. If they plopped it down on the Boardwalk I would probably never stay anywhere else besides GF/Poly lol. It's just SUCH a beautiful resort, and especially at night. I enjoy walking the grounds of a resort and CSR has some of the prettiest imo. Food options are on par with some deluxes, Rix watchos are my favorite too! I don't think I would stay in the villages though, the tower is just so convenient because everything you need is right there or like a 5 min walk. Being in the tower cuts pretty much negates the size disadvantage of CSR. It's also the last bus stop on the way out to the parks and I appreciated that it was a fully covered walk to it.

I would love to come back to the tower but I have a hard time when I can usually get Swolphin around the same price with EEH and walking to 2 parks. I like it for weekend trips when EEH is not a factor. We are considering it for a pre-cruise stay next year though since we are taking DCL transportation to the port.

One of my favorite parts of our stays at CSR is always going to get my cold brew and breakfast wrap in the morning from the lobby bar. Josh and Denise are some of the friendliest cast members I have ever encountered on Disney property. Best way to start the day!

We are at the tower. 10th floor, water view. No buzzing first night. So far so good. The hot tub was broken right after Thanksgiving. It’s is back in service. Warm sunny day. Life is good.
Sounds fab! :thumbsup2

We are going for two weeks in August. We booked a non tower room. In january 2022 we stayed in a tower room, mainly to avoid the cheerleaders. We loved the room, but the lobby was always crowded and it was a little annoying having to walk to cabanas for the pool /laundry. In August we usually use the pool and laundry facilities much more so we decided to try the village. The last two summers we stayed at Riverside, it is our favorite resort, but for whatever reason it’s really expensive this summer. There’s a 1200 CAD difference between the 2 hotels. I cannot wait to be back, mainly for the food. So many restaurants to choose from and even the food court was SO much better than the one at Riverside.

There is a laundry in the tower. I have used it. I think it’s on the third floor.

We had a great stay in our deluxe suite room at GTD. As to the buzzing noise, we had no issue this time, unlike our last stay after Thanksgiving. I did notice on check out day that the door to the wine fridge in the living room area was slightly open, perhaps all night. I could hear a low volume alert that I figured out was coming from the fridge. I could hear it even after I closed the fridge door all the way. Something to keep in mind.

We have done the last 2 years in the tower and it was nice. This year we switched out to a non tower room since we are linking up with my dad for his 70th and think being near a quiet pool would be better for him.

Also we usually do end of august when its dead so interesting to see how chaotic end of July is :)

Would CSR be a better choice all Star movies? Trying to keep within budget, but for a few more dollars looks like CSR would be nice. We do rent a car. But at the end of the night, if we would like a refill of soda, don’t want a 10 minute walk to Quick service. What would you recommend?

Not sure when the sale started, but the King rooms at Coronado are 40% off for passholders for June and July. I had originally booked a standard room at POFQ on a bounceback for the first weekend of June and was looking to add a night at the beginning. No availability that night at FQ, so I had the phone CM switch me to a Preferred King at Coronado under the AP rate, which was actually cheaper than the bounceback rate would have been.

Hi all! Is there still a direct bus between Coronado Springs Resort and Blizzard Beach?
