....dinner at Three Bridges Lounge:

enhance

Just finished dinner at Rix. It was delicious. We liked it a lot more than Paddlefish last night. We ordered the watchos to split and oh my gosh guys, get these. They are so good!
We also got the Reuben, the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the California club chicken sandwich. Big thumbs up. I'm sure we'll eat there again before we leave.
Sorry in advance for the sideways pictures. 20201105_175437.jpg20201105_175432.jpg20201105_175426.jpg20201105_174627.jpg

I forgot to mention that yesterday the bus to AK picked up first at tower and then stopped at bus stop 2 (Casitas) didn't stop at Rancho or Cabana sections. The bell service desk told us they don't know when those sections are going to open.
Last night it dropped off first at Casitas.
If you're an early riser and need coffee before 7 am when Barcelona opens, make sure you ask for extra coffee and creamers on arrival because we used them yesterday and I had to get a soda for my caffeine this morning

I've been here (in the tower) since Sunday afternoon, leaving today. I didn't think the busses were bad at all. The signage indicates they start half an hour before park opening, and it was more like 45 minutes. Not accounting for the time I spent waiting because I got to the stops early, I only had a longish (30 minutes) wait once. I was in the parks before park opening all four days.

Took the bus to MK today from the Tower stop. We arrived 7:15 (we knew it was super early) and first MK bus came around 7:45, we were up at Peter Pan by 8:15. By the time we left at 7:45, we were on the first bus and a fairly decent line behind us. AK buses were running at 7:15 for the 8 a.m. opening, and they came every few minutes while we were waiting.

Got our room ready text at the airport Thursday night, originally we were booked 4 nights GDT and then our original flight shifted, so I ended up adding 2 nights to our trip and reserved CSR standard and figured we can request early check in to move rooms since today is our down day.

When I got the text, was thrilled to learn we were assigned Tower for the 1st two nights too. I just have to go down this morning, check out and check back in (I asked about this last night if we would need to change rooms and CM said no, but told me I have to come down there even though we're assigned the same room). We have standard view but have a partial water view (so pretty!) and can see Epcot and Swan/Dolphin off to the side. We do have the big fans below us though which is not so pretty :)

Love the room! The Tower is super nice (we're stayed at CSR but never stayed in GDT). The huge drawback for us is everything - shower, toilet, sinks - are in one room. This trip it's fine since it's just DD and myself, but when the rest of the family come this setup wouldn't work for us, if we stayed here, I'd book one of the other buildings again. Something to keep in mind if you rely on everyone getting ready simultaneously like we do.

No elevator waits for us so far and it's very quick.

Did mobile order for Three Bridges last night. Ordered while getting off the bus from MK about 8:45 pm and while ordering the 9 pm slot was gone, so had to wait until 9:20 to say "prepare my order". It took a while before our food was ready. I forget what time we got back in our room but it was late. Lesson learned to definitely prepare mobile orders earlier :). Food was good!

Were you able to eat there or did you have to take it back to your room?

We were tired and went back to the room. We saw while waiting they were taking names for walk ups for table service. I dont think it's set up for mobile and eat there. (There may be other areas to sit outside off the bridges. If we walk around property today I'll take a look. I want to say I saw tables on a pre covid trip, but not sure).

....I've posted plenty of photos from our stay when the Gran Destino was only about 3 weeks old. Here is a link - photos scattered from pages 520-525.

Beautiful!!! So excited to stay there!

Am I correct that the bar area in the lobby is open in the morning for coffee? One of my favorite vacation routines is go get up early, get a coffee and sit and enjoy the view. Looks like some great seats near the windows of the lobby to sit in!

Yes, Barcelona Lounge (the bar on the first floor of the GDT lobby) is open for morning coffee, various coffee/espresso beverages, and light pastries. Current hours:

Just to follow up, there are some tables outside when you come back across the bridge leading to the convention center, I saw people sitting there so they aren't blocked off.

A surprise find at the grocery store today.

Brought back memories of better times at Chronos Club (the name of the lounge for GDT CL) roughly a year ago today, covering the important Disney food groups.

I had never had this beer prior to staying at CSR, but really enjoyed it. Assuming the online menus are correct, you can currently find it at Dahlia Lounge. Pretty tasty.

A breezy beautiful night at Coronado. Some night views and also those seating areas outside the convention area and the bridge (might be more on the other side.)

We are waiting to see what the weather brings.( Hadn't paid attention to weather until it looked a little dark at one point and then saw the storm potential...)

....yes it is. I did have a really delicious coffee there one morning and had a very nice conversation with the CM, but I don't remember which one [coffee] - they have quite a selection. It is actually one floor down from the lobby, BTW...

Quick question. Can you walk from Coronado Springs to Hollywood Studios? I want to rope drop tomorrow, but I hear that buses only start running 45 minutes prior to opening, have capacity issues at the moment, and don't go directly to Hollywood Studios, requiring a transfer. Google Maps says 1.1 miles, which is easily within walkable distance for me, but Google Maps can't find a route to walk. Is there not pedestrian infrastructure? If the distance is that short, it seems I'd prefer to walk.
