Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Can I ask what you love about Casitas 4? We have teenagers, so don't need to be right next to the pool. My thought was that Casitas might be a little bit quieter, while still not being too, too far from everything. (Don't want to be way out in Ranchos).

First off, I use the fitness center. So being in the same building is a big convenience. It's a 3-4 min walk to the food court. Right by the first pickup bus stop. The quiet pool is very big, it's twice the size of the other ones, it might be the largest quiet pool at WDW. There are a large amount of lounge chairs and tables in this area. It is a great place to hang out both during the day and at night. We never bothered with the main pool the one trip we stayed at this location.

We've stayed in the Business Class rooms since they were a book able category, but there were none available this time. So we went with a standard room and are hoping for Casitas 4. Which is are second favorite location next to BC.

It seems like everyone with a standard room chooses Cabanas. Does that make the rooms harder to come by? I'm thinking Casitas seems really nice. Is there a reason people seem to bypass those rooms? They're the first bus stop, right? They seem fairly central between the pool and El Centro. What am I missing?

I asked this same question a few pages back! I think some really like the beaches in the Cabanas area, rather than the more formal look of Casitas.

My plan right now is to not request a certain area but to request to be close to the main building - then hopefully we can avoid Ranchos.

Just thinking about next year and putting some test bookings through on the Disney site... Coronado hardly seems to have any double queen rooms left for next sep/oct... anyone know why this is?

Because they haven't released the rates for 2017 yet and I am unable to even select any dates in 2017. The calendar stops at Dec 31 2016. I'm curious, ow are you able to select dates in 2017?

I am doing it in the UK and it lets me select dates up to Dec 2017. Their latest promotion over here is free dining for 2017 trips so it offers all those dates for booking.

Sweet! I'm really getting nervous about the crowd levels though. Hopefully it's not as bad as I'm expecting.

Yeah, the crowd calendars look worse than our 4th of July trip! It'll be fine though. We're planning to take it pretty easy, avoid AK in the evening (we'll stay for the new night time stuff when we go in July), and spend a lot of time enjoying the last weekend of F&G!

I have requested the Cabanas but am not rethinking to switching to Casitas.. Do they have beaches in front also with hammocks?

No beaches in the Cabanas area. There are a couple of hammocks by the lagoon. There is a large area in between Casitas 3 and 4 that is attached to the quiet pool area that contains tons of lounge chairs as well as tables and chairs with umbrellas. It's a different look than the Cabanas, but it has way more places to sit and relax. The Cabanas area is great as well, we won't be disappointed if we get a room there (Last 2 stays were Business Class), but Casitas 4 definately has it's own charms. When we're there for 2 weeks and i use the fitness center about 6 times over that time it's a great location. We really enjoyed having a place to sit at night just outside our room.

I'm planning my first solo trip for July 2017, and I think I'm going to try this resort - - everyone here seems to love it! I can't see any negatives from my point of view: I'm going to spend a day or two at the resort, so I want comfort, and I'm going to spend lots of time at the parks, so I'd like good bus service. I don't even mind walking, so Ranchos would be fine if that's what I end up with.

BUT I'm hoping for 2017 bounceback discounts when I'm onsite this July - - fingers crossed!

We had some friends just come back from WDW earlier this month and they said the crowd levels were pretty low. Not near as busy as other trips around this time. One of them posted a link on facebook that had the author saying WDW is down this year on attendance compared to what they are expecting. I'm not sure how accurate that web site was since I haven't looked at multiple sources for that specific information.

Question on roll away beds or daybeds at coronado springs.

We have an upcoming trip where were staying at coronado for a week. My son who is 13, and daughter who is 8 HATE HATE! sleeping together... This trip was done on a super budget, and i got an amazing rate, so they will have to just bite the bullet and deal with it.

I'm seeing reports online that cots ARE available at coronado, that you just need to ask for 1 at check in and of coarse have 4 or less people in the room which we do - I'm also seeing reports that some coronado rooms have a daybed? Does anyone have any experience with either of the 2?

I called WDW and they gave me the direct number to coronado, so when I did call and ask, they were able to verify that they do have them, but it is on a first come first serve basis, and they do ask why you want 1, and the woman on the phone told me that teens sharing a bed was a pretty big request they do honor....
So I'm just wondering if anyone has successfully had this request or not? Also, daybeds? Thanks!!

I was at Epcot on the 7th, and last week played hooky from work to hit HS and AK on the 20th. I would agree it was only moderately crowded those days. I think right now WDW has a more even balance of attractions going than it usually does, so each park has its own appeal and that helps to disperse the crowds more evenly. We are staying this weekend, so we will see if it is still sane or crazy busy.

How is the pizza that is part of in room delivery? And how does it work on the dining plan? Just wanted to see if it was worth looking into if we have a tired night.

I had not heard about them having cots on request, just microwaves, which we always request. Our kids were that age last time we stayed there (13 and 10) and definitely not sleeping together, and so DH slept with DS13 and I slept with DD10. I have heard some people also pack a twin air mattress to solve the dilemma(in case you can't get one). I do miss timeshares for this reason, which we have stayed at a lot in the past as in-laws had one, for this reason. Each kid had a bed to themselves, or there was a Murphy bed or sofa bed as a third spot. With DS now 6'1" and DD 12 already 5'6", even the 5 person rooms at POR would probably not work for them with the small Murphy beds. While sleeping w/DD is not ideal, I love the comfy beds at CSR, so it's all good!

CSR has roll-a-ways on a first come, first serve basis. $16.81 per night. Cannot be reserved in advance

I have a water view booked and need to put my room request in. I have a 3 and 6 year old. We will have a rental car to use if we need it. We are rope drop people with afternoon naps being a must. what do y'all think? We probably will not use pool much.
