Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Just back from our first stay at CSR and we really liked it. We got a text that our room was ready shortly after we landed around 9:30am so that was nice. Went straight to the room and Magic Bands worked no problem. The location seems really central. Bus service was great overall, usually around a 10 minute wait and no standing. The resort is very pretty. There was at least one convention going on but they didn't bother us. Definitely seemed like fewer kids which is what we were looking for on this trip. We stayed in Casitas 4 overlooking the pool. Sure, the rooms (especially the bathrooms) could use an update but I understand that's coming soon. We were very comfortable and mousekeeping was good.

We did have an issue dealing with package delivery. My sister forgot her phone at home so her DH fedexed it to the resort. We got back from the park around 9pm and went to the front desk to retrieve it and were told all packages went to the business center which closed at 5pm and didn't open until 8am at which time we would already be in the Magic Kingdom having breakfast. She called them on my phone from the park the next morning and got them to deliver the package to our room. Then she had to call back to confirm that happened because she didn't want to get back to the resort at 9pm after a day in the parks and find that she still didn't have her package. A text or phone call would have been appreciated to alert us the package was there and where it was being held. I guess she could have called the front desk before her husband shipped the phone to find out how things worked but we've have stuff shipped to hotels before and haven't had this issue.

I have stayed at Coronado in 2011,12,13, and 14. I did not stay here this past November but plan on staying this November. I was just wondering if anyone who had stayed there recently could tell me if they are still using regular plates and silverware instead of plastic and paper plates in the pepper market for quick serve? Thanks
I was there in June and yes, they are still using real plates and silverware.

Glad she got the phone.
This is normal procedure at all the Convention resorts. They have a 3rd party they contract with to deal with packages, assume because conventions often have a lot more shipments than a normal guest would. So you have to go to the Business Center for packages shipped or received.

Though we have experienced that at BWI the Resort Manager was able to go to the Business Center after hours and get the package. I believe this is not a normal occurrence but proofs it can be done, at least there.

Am I right in thinking that to add a special occasion to my booking that I'm best calling? If so, what is the best number to call?

I'd also like to add it to our California Grill ADR too.
I called the dining reservation line letting them know of a birthday I wanted to celebrate and they added a note to the reservation

I asked disney to send me a dvd with the hope of getting a pin email. I ended up getting an email offering me $190 a night which is not much of a savings. I really want the free dining. Has anyone received a pin for free dining this November? I really hope they send me something better since we go every year.

October and November were both excluded from the 2016 bounce back offers for free dining.
I always get free dining in November. It is when the public gets an email or I get a pin. The bounce backs that are in the hotel room are always for August which I will never go during that time. It is too hot for me.

You may not get Free Dining in November this year, with cutbacks and high bookings for rooms already in place is my point.

The 2016 bounce back offers this year have all excluded October and November.

Do all rooms have mini refrigerators? If so, how big are they. How many bottles of water do you think they hold?

Are there ice machines located throughout the buildings? Thinking of taking a cooler and filling up with ice

They're dorm fridges, basically. They'll hold several bottles, but not a 12-pack or something.

There are ice machines on each floor in each building. Whether or not they are working when you're there is a coin toss. :)

Well I decided not to bother making a room request for CSR! I really hope we don't get Ranchos but otherwise happy with Casitas or Cabanas. Knowing my luck I'll get stuck with Ranchos now but will deal with it if/when that happens :)

Will request a high floor at online check-in so hopefully everything works out!

Ranchos 7B is actually not too bad. It has it's own quiet pool/laundry, is very close to bus stop 4, and 2 mins from the Digsite. It's Ranchos 7A and 6B that you really want to avoid if possible.

Enjoy your trip!!

I don't really like the theming of the Ranchos. Of course, now that Disney owns Star Wars, they could always act on my previous observations that the area is themed like Tatooine :)

We were in 6B last year.
I didn't mind being in the boondocks but my Wife has knee and hip problems and walking to El Centro was a chore after a day at the parks.
I requested the Cabanas this year.
But then again, I requested the Cabanas last year and got Ranchos. :rolleyes2

I was referring strictly to the location. The theme is all personal taste. I didn't mind it, but prefer to be in Cabanas which is why we paid for Business Class the last two trips. :)

That is the risk of booking a standard room.
