We are staying for the first time in BC in December. What is your favorite part about BC? How "fresh" are the rooms? It has been some time since I last stayed at CSR - and the rooms were very worn. Since CSR will be going through a refurb soon (sounds like they haven't started on the rooms yet), I'm a little concerned how worn the BC rooms will be - or were they updated more recently than the standard rooms?
Location. Location. Location. Short distance to everything. El centro, pools, laundry and buses.
The lounge works great for my family. The breakfast is suffice. Cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, muffins and lots of choolate milk for my son. Then we head to a park. We come back in the early evening for cocktails and snacks. Even though I know the Sangria is Beso Del from a box, it sure does taste good with a few berries. I usually get one to go for the bus ride back to a park. The BC CM's are fantastic, we always chat. They make recommendations and just share a wealth of information with us. We head back out to the parks 9/10 pm. Easter break the parks have EMH till 2/3am. We stay till closing.
I don't think 9B rooms are that worn. The furniture wasn't knicked or scratched. Beds were cozy. The bathrooms, Yes, they need some work. Just outdated imo. I'm not sure when they were last updated. Frankly, the refurb has been talked about since my first stay BC Easter 2013. Figured for sure April 2015 I would have a refub room. Nope. In April, a CSR CM said they were starting with Cabanas in July. But that didn't happen. I think the rumors are - starting with Casistas soon. Who knows. I'm just glad I got a room since it has become pretty popular. When I looked this morning at rooms I didn't see anything available. My TA worked some magic and got it!!

Enjoy your trip! I've never been in December to see the decorations.
