Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Thanks for this info. We are driving from Canada. Wondering if you chose to get to theme parks by the Disney buses or by your own car. Can you share why as well? We are arriving for the busiest time of the year....yep, Christmas. Had to jump off the deep end for our first trip. Nuts!

We drove almost everywhere. My DH likes having the car to come and go as we please. It also makes park hopping very easy. When we drive, we don't have the unknown of how long it will take for a bus to arrive, how long it will take to make all the stops etc. We've had the issue of waiting in a huge line of people at park closing for a bus. When you drive, you just need to get to your car and you are on your way. It really is a personal preference and many people prefer to just park the car and use Disney transportation for the trip. Try both and see what you prefer. Have a great trip! Make sure you take time for Osborne Lights at HS. This has become my favorite Christmas display!

I'm pretty sure that if you take Disney transportation, you won't be turned away if a park reaches capacity. If you drive and a park is at capacity, you'll be turned away. So if there's any question about capacity for the day (since you're going during a busy time), take the bus:)

We are here now, leave tomorrow and everything had been great so far until we found out this morning we have to change rooms,

We have a 14 day package plus one night room only. They were linked, they assured us at checkin that we would stay in the same room, and we even had a voicemail from last night that told us we didn't have to go to the front desk and our Magic Bands would still work for the room.

But it turns out they booked Casitas 5 (and our room) for the cheerleaders and they can't separate the cupcakes from the chaperones.

This sucks. We were totally unprepared to have to pack 15 days worth of belongings on the morning of our last park day and we are going to miss an ADR. I know this is always a possibility when booking a split stay, but they led us to believe we would be staying in the same room when we checked in and even confirmed that with last nights voicemail.

The good news is that the cheerleaders will be in Casitas 5 and that is the complete opposite end of CSR from where we will be in Cabanas 9B! :thumbsup2

I wouldn't count on anything just yet. They seem to be occupying more than just that building - and unless mouse keeping discovered it, I left half a bottle of vodka in the fridge so there might be some plastered cupcakes roaming the resort by the time you get here. :)

Good news for me is I got them to refund tonight's stay, upgraded us to a room in business class, and gave us 6 FP's that can be used for anything. I think they made up for disrupting our last park day.

Sounds like a fair trade to me! Enjoy those FP's!

Uh oh. We requested Casitas 5 and check in on Wednesday!

Do they provide coffee packets in room or do I need to bring some. I know, this coffee thing is a top priority. HAHA! :woohoo:

Thanks so much for your advice, CHEFMB!

From reading this CSR forum, it looks like transportation is only an issue for MK so even though the bus advantage is the arrival avoids the long waits across the lagoon, we'll seriously think of driving on our MK day. Oh and probably drive to Downtown Disney too.

And yep, Osborne is on the Not-to-Miss list already. :-) As is a bunch of Disney snacks, restaurants (still trying to book FP for BOG), rides etc.

Hope there are no crazy blizzards on our drive down.

Does anyone have the updated fax number for the resort? I tried 407-939-1001 but it didn't work. Edited to add: oops, nevermind! It went through on my 3rd try. Probably a problem on my end.

How much for one load of wash? Wash and dry.

$2 to wash, $2 to dry. You might want to reserve another $2 for an additional dryer cycle, our stuff would come out damp after one run even when we just lightly loaded the dryers.

It seems to depend on the dryer. Some work better than others. Of course there's no way of knowing which are the good ones.

No one in our family drinks coffee, but I'm pretty sure there are coffee packets in the room.

They provide pods of both regular and decaf. Use up all of the regular the first day and they seem to leave twice as many the next day.

Anyone at CSR with the cheerleaders, etc. currently? I have a preferred room and will be arriving end of next week.I wanted a gauge of the atmosphere in regards to the morning rush for breakfast and noise levels at night with the arrival of this organization. I have read that the pop warner kids are generally respectful.

I would love to know this, too! We arrived late this coming Thursday night.
