Thanks for this info. We are driving from Canada. Wondering if you chose to get to theme parks by the Disney buses or by your own car. Can you share why as well? We are arriving for the busiest time of the year....yep, Christmas. Had to jump off the deep end for our first trip. Nuts!
We drove almost everywhere. My DH likes having the car to come and go as we please. It also makes park hopping very easy. When we drive, we don't have the unknown of how long it will take for a bus to arrive, how long it will take to make all the stops etc. We've had the issue of waiting in a huge line of people at park closing for a bus. When you drive, you just need to get to your car and you are on your way. It really is a personal preference and many people prefer to just park the car and use Disney transportation for the trip. Try both and see what you prefer. Have a great trip! Make sure you take time for Osborne Lights at HS. This has become my favorite Christmas display!
I'm pretty sure that if you take Disney transportation, you won't be turned away if a park reaches capacity. If you drive and a park is at capacity, you'll be turned away. So if there's any question about capacity for the day (since you're going during a busy time), take the bus
