At CSR now. I have mixed feelings about it so far.

The good-CM's are fantastic for the most part. We have a junior suite and while small, it is nice and clean. The Bad-we are in Casitas 1 on the 2nd floor and it is very noisy. Lots of people attending conventions, constant foot traffic in front of our room and on the floor above. Also people standing on the balconies in front of the rooms talking on cell phones. I am pretty sure whomever they are talking to is hard of hearing as they use really loud voices

Thanks for the info....hoping the NFL package is really available...

The question is if Rix will be open in the afternoon to watch football. We were there last year first week of December and none of the TVs were on in the Rix.
There are a couple at the laguna bar but they were really small.

Well, you know the CSR Bus Cheerleaders will say you're wrong, or insane or you must have been dreaming or at a different resort because they've always had great bus service so it's impossible for CSR to have less than stellar bus service. We all know bad bus service can and does happen at every Disney resort. I've had great bus service at CSR, never waited more than 13 minutes and I've had bad service, similar to what you described. So you just never know. It's the luck of the draw, better luck next time.

It really is the luck of the draw, which is why it is bad to chose or not chose a resort based on bus service alone.

Last night, I walked to the bar to get a glass of wine and in our little courtyard area, there were 9 people standing at the railing smoking. You could smell it in the room when I opened the door to go outside

The Ugly-bus service. Absolutely the worst that I have experienced in 12 trips to Disney. Before the CSR fan club denounces me as a traitor with no concept of time, let me explain. I consider anything under 30 minutes an acceptable. I have caught 5 buses to the parks in 2.5 days and only one has arrived in under 30 minutes and that was 28 minutes (yes I am timing them). This morning, we decided to try an experiment. Some friends of ours took a bus to Magic Kingdom then transferred to Epcot via monorail. We met at bus stop 1 at 9:30. They waited just under 30 minutes for their bus. We were still waiting. They made it to Epcot in 67 minutes. We were still waiting for the Epcot bus. We waited 86 minutes. 86 minutes!!!! We missed our fast passes from 10:30-11:30. And sadly, while we waited those 86 minutes we saw 2 buses to MK, 1 bus to DD, and 1 bus to Hollywood studios but no buses to AK. We leave in 5 minutes for a bus to MK for a 5:20 ADR. It's just sad that we have to leave 2 hours early to go anywhere at Disney.

That smoking would drive me nuts!

Is that a designated smoking area? I don't recall there being one there? If its not I would be complaining at the front desk.

I am curious about the smoking too, people smoking right outside our room would be a deal breaker for me. Anyone know if that is typical, or just unfortunate timing for

Is there a bus CM you can speak with, or someone at the front desk? I thought I read somewhere that the buses are adjusted as needed. Definitely speak up so you're not stuck with crappy bus service your whole trip.

Holy cow! That is unacceptable. I would go to the concierge desk. They can issue extra FPs. We ended up with 6 for one day in MK. They were also able to arrange them in the order I wanted them. We didn't have to bounce around.

I should have added that these people smoking are not in a designated area, just on the walkways in front of their, or someone's rooms. Or, like today, walking from one of the casitas to the convention center. I haven't seen anyone smoking this evening but it still permeates the air outside our door. I think we are just unfortunate in our room location. We are about 50 yards from the 2nd floor convention doors. I did speak to someone at the front desk. And while she was sympathetic, the only thing they had to offer me was a junior suite with a king bed (we have 2queens) on the first floor of the same building. Not enough difference to make us move all our stuff at 10:00 am and not have a room until 5:00.

Bus service was slightly better this afternoon to MK.

I will say as an ex smoker I did from time to time smoke outside of designated areas but never in an area where it would affect other people. Tucked away in a corner discreetly. I will add that there are some very ill placed smoking areas, like at pop there is (or was, they may have moved it by now) one right outside the main check in building, it is off to the side but not far from the main walkway, smoke surely travels. Mention it to the people, maybe they don't realize they need to go to a designated area, politely tell then it's bothering you, I will tell you from a smokers perspective I would want someone to tell me if my smoking was inadvertently bothering others.

I'm one of the lucky ones to have always had good luck with the CSR buses. I can honestly say 90% of the time they have been terrific.

So we check in on Nov 1st Preferred Casitas. So would you suggest that I fax a building request about 4 days before check in for Castias 3 or 4 since most of the conventioners are in 1 & 2??

I really like the looks of location for Castias 3 and I am planning to fax that request. When I did the on line check in I asked for corner and top floor, but it won't let you request the building.

We have never stayed here before. We always drop people off on ME on the way to AKV and it looks really pretty.

Looking forward to the pool!!!:thumbsup2

I'm pretty sure casitas 4 is not a preferred location. So if request casitas 3.
