Is it effective to send a room request by Fax to the resort? If so, what time frame should I look to send it?

I have called and had my requests noted, but I've heard it can be good to fax as well. I would just like to now if faxing works for CSR and when I should plan to send the fax.

I know it's been asked a zillion times but can someone tell me where to fax room requests? And how many days out should I fax it in? Thanks! :)

EDIT: Wow! I didn't even see the post above mine. Would it be better to call as the previous poster has done or is faxing just as effective?

We will be staying at CSR Nov 1-7 with the free DDP in a King Preferred room. So so excited that it is now only two months out after having this planned since January! :woohoo:

I see that free dining ends the day you arrive. Do you get free dining the whole stay since you are checking on on the first? I usually travel during no promo time. This morning I decided to look into a mother/daughter trip for the same dates.

From what I understand, as long as your first day is in the promo, you get it for your entire time.

Wow, so much information in this thread! My mom, stepdad, me, and my boyfriend will possibly be considering staying at CSR for our trip next year. The trip will be for 8-10 days. This thread is definitely making CSR seem like a perfect option for us. My mom and stepdad are looking for a resort that is little more quiet and less crowded than Pop along with great food and theme!!

One thing I am confused about is in what order does the bus make stops to pick up people for the parks? Is this order subject to change?

We are also checking in on Nov 1st and yes we get Free Dining for our entire stay!!:cool1:
As long as you check in on while Free dining is still offered it will extend the entire trip....:thumbsup2
If needed we would have flew in on Halloween, but it works out for Nov 1st. Gotta love the free dining!

Our plane lands at 9:15 am on Nov 1st so we will have all day at CSR! We may go to DTD for lunch if our room is not ready, but I made an ADR for dinner at Maya Grill at 7pm.

We are in a preferred room in Casitas! Our first time staying here.

I am bummed because we had to do three separate reservations for our stay in October. The first day isn't covered by free dining, so I had to do a room-only res... then we have five days I think that are covered under free dining. Then my husband said "Why are we coming back on a Saturday when we could come back on Sunday?" And like heck I was going to look THAT gift horse in the mouth, but by then free dining was sold out, so we have yet ANOTHER room-only res.

The good news is that I will have a magicband in almost every color. :D

For the parks. Bus stop 2-3-4-1
Downtown Disney 1-2-3-4

Has always been that way every time we stay.

I haven't done the bus/ boat route yet (though we will in Dec.) so I can't comment on that.
But, I did travel to the Hoop Dee Doo last year by car/ internal bus and it was a lot easier than I thought. The drive from Pop took less than 15 minutes. We parked the car and waited less than 10 minutes for an internal bus. Our total travel time from our room at Pop to Pioneer Hall was about 35 minutes. I had given us an hour and a half, so we were quite early and did a little exploring and relaxing which was nice.
Whichever method you choose, you are taking 2 forms of transportation, so I don't think it matters all that much. If you are planning on going to MK after the show or plan to partake of the free alcohol, then I would go the MK route. Otherwise, I think car is a fine choice. Just remember that if you drive to stay over to the right lanes when you approach the MK tolls.

In either case, I would still allow 90 minutes. You never know what could go wrong/ where you might run into delays. :)

minimum 60 mins but 90 to be safe.

Thank you both for your help!!

For those who have stayed recently..

I saw in another thread someone said their CSR room had a Keurig. Does anyone know which room categories have them now, and which have the flat pod style? I'm staying preferred for most of my trip, then business class at the end, and I'm wondering which style we'll get.

Anyone know if CSR is fully booked Oct 29-nov 5? I was looking for another room online and cant find anything...

It looks booked to me. Only FQ and POR are showing. However, Orbitz still has rooms are CSR available with 15% off with code Review15 on their site.

Does anyone know of you are able to settle the final bill using Disney gift cards?

I was told you should come to the desk to pay with gift cards by your last evening before you check out. Also, I have read that your credit card gets charged when you accumulate more than $500 in charges, so you might stop by the desk to pay off periodically during your stay if your charges are getting to that level.

Room charges are charged to your credit card when the reach $500 at value resorts, $1000 at mod resorts, or $1500 at deluxe resorts. You can go to the front desk at any time to pay off these charges before they max out. If you want to pay off your final bill with cash or gift cards, do it on the evening before you check out, since they will charge your credit card for any outstanding balance in the very early hours of the morning you check out.

is there a charge for alcoholic beverages at CSR? WE are thinking about BC for Christmas t his year.

If you are a BC guest there is a limited selection of beer, wine and (I believe) sangria available in the lounge from 5-10 pm. Anything else would require purchase from any of the bars.
