Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

I booked the week after Thanksgiving at CSR in early June, hoping that there would be a discount, but being okay if there wasn't since it's a cheaper moderate. We previously stayed at POR and loved it, but the rack rate was just too high to risk if there was no discount. Availability was greatly reduced this month, and the last few nights of our stay have been unavailable at CSR. With a little playing around, I just made the call to change our reservation to a split stay with AKL as the second half, for only $70 more total than paying the rack rate at CSR. We have always wanted to stay there but it's been out of our price range. Since we can't get the whole week discounted at CSR we're justifying the splurge for the second half of the week, since it evens out (sort of). Can't wait to see both resorts for the first time! We would have loved to try out the tower, but that wasn't available even in July. I have a friend staying there next week for work and I told her to send me pictures of everything, especially if she tries Toledo.

Why should the tower have its own bus service instead of bus service being increased around the resort loop in general? The tower is not a separate resort, it's a component part of Coronado. Tower guests should not be treated in a preferential manner over other resort guests just because they want room doors that open to hallways instead of humidity.

I don’t think that the tower should have their own buses but I do feel that the amount of buses needs to be increased. More ppl more buses this week we been packed in like sardines it’s crazy

We have one more day until the tragic express pics us up. I just thought I would post a review of our week. These are just my opinions. We have 9 nights 10 days booked in 2 standard view rooms in the tower booked with a travel agent- regular magic your way package.

Check in- went very smooth we got to the resort at 8:30 from one night at the pop quick smooth check in. I did not do online check in.- just preference old school and wanted to make sure our tickets were link correctly.
- we asked for connecting rooms we were told “ nope can’t do that” are you sure I don’t mind even switching tomorrow or later in the trip when someone checks out. “ nope can’t do that”
After a little more conversation it wasn’t that the hotel is booked but the room types don’t exist together. The hotel does not have 2 queen beds with a connecting door only 1 king room /2 queen bed rooms connect. That makes more sense.
- we were in and out in no time at all and off to MK.
We got a text by 10:30 both rooms were ready and room numbers.

Only bump in our road was our luggage did not get transferred over from the pop but a staff member handled it and we had our stuff within 30 minutes.

I had an issue with one of our bags I made the manager aware of it immediately, just something that I thought he needed to know and should know. The next day he called me at Epcot the next day to say he looked into the issue and because I could have been quiet upset but really wasn’t he gave us a credit to use on our room. By know means did I expect or ask for anything at all. I told him he didn’t not have to do that at all. I have to say that every staff member we have encountered has been nothing but nice and overly accommodating.

Cafe Rix - not a bad walk at all from the tower. If you like a cup of coffee at night there is a young girl who works there nights who makes the best ice coffee I have had in a long time!

Dog site -has been packed but we have had no problem finding chairs.

The dreaded tour groups- soccer teams with young boys- too many kids - 1 adult! Insane... how the parents allow it I would freak! As well behaved as young boys in masses could be, lol.

- The cheer group , oh lord teen girls - Nuf said!
- the adults with the groups need to find their manners sorry! The kids were better behaved than the adults. One day in the kids play area Chaperones were kicking a ball around S little kids were playing, in between their legs as they were running around finally I said enough told them they needed to leave.” No understand English!” Ya- read sign 12 and under - leave or a get your tour guide! They understood that! One little kid tripped over their ball.

House keeping - great no issues even gave us extra towels without having to ask.

Buses- dun dun dun..... our only issue all week the buses were jammed packed all week standing room only on every trip.
- springs bus was the worst! 2 days we waited over 40 mins for a bus. We traveled with my mom and a scooter for get it one night my kids and husband left us behind because there was no room for her. Our total wait that night 1 hr 20 mins for a bus... the driver told us they have 500 in their fleet they come when they can... yup not what u want to hear.
- AK bus Sunday we waited 45 mins for a bus because it was 2 packed we couldn’t get on that was from the driver.
- wait time was always 25-45 mins with out fail.

Overall we loved the resort! The details in the lobby are amazing. The staff - amazing! Parks very crowded! View from our standard room was beautiful

Would we stay again? Yes if I had to stay moderate it would only be in the tower!

What would I change? Add more buses into the rotation

Chill dude. No issues, just voicing an observation as you are.
I'm chill. Sorry that was snarky. My point is in other rooms the shower is separated in one way or another. Either behind a closed door which allows others to use the vanities or with a curtain. You cannot use the shower while others use the vanity or access the toilet without being on display.

Hopefully starting in the fall we will see less groups???!!!

I did a web search for conferences in April 2020. Our school vacation week for spring break is the week of April 13th, 2020. It showed 2 nursing conferences at CSR that week. Anyone stayed there during conferences and school break? It is also Easter week. Just trying to gauge how crowded this resort will be. Thanks!

Oh my, does that one suite really wrap around the elevator bank, or am I misidentifyin g the elevators?

The combination of possible elevator noise and possibility of a low floor were enough to get us to switch to a standard room. We were on the fence about the suite anyway, so this helped solidify that decision. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure we could have a lovely stay on a low floor with some elevator noise, but I was no longer convinced the suite will be worth the extra cost, at least for this particular trip.

Was there a specific site you found this information...... we are staying there last week of May 2020

We are at the tower now. The elevators play a couple of different sounds when they arrive, and they are *loud*. I would not want to risk being anywhere near them.

We also always request a high floor so were disappointed to be put on 3, which i think is the lowest floor with rooms. However, it's turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The elevators are always busy, but from 3, getting down to the lobby is a breeze. We're high enough we saw the MK fireworks from the room last night and have a lovely lake view. The only hassle has been getting to dahlia lounge on the top floor; our elevator rides usually involve 6 or 7 stops.

For those concerned about noise in general, the rooms appear very soundproof between rooms (we don't have a connecting door, so don't know if that would affect things), but you can hear sounds from the hallway quite clearly. We had really loud neighbors our first two nights, and when we were all in our rooms we couldn't hear a thing from next door, but when they were in the hall we could hear them clear as day, and when we were in the hall we could hear them in their room. If you don't want to be disturbed by people walking by, I'd request a room at the end of the hall.

So far we are loving the tower. And the noisy neighbors moved out yesterday. ; )

Thank you for your report. Question: so should I request a non connecting room? If i don't want one? And did you eat breakfast in the tower in the lower lobby area? Is there food or only coffee?

Thanks for the good info. I think I will request a room at the end of the hall. Further from the elevators, too. :-)

Happy to hear that you're loving the tower! Enjoy the rest of your stay!

I would request a non-connecting room for sure. We were in casitas last jan and had a connecting door and could hear the guy next door snoring, sneezing, etc, and he was not being particularly loud. Idk how a connecting door would be in the tower, but they generally do let more noise through.

We requested, in this order, 1. No connecting door, 2. End of hall away from elevator, 3. high floor. We got the first two, and the last turned out not to be a problem. The main hallway ends in a T intersection at either end, with 6 or 7 rooms along the short side of the T, and that's where we are. Kind of hard to explain, so sorry if that was confusing, but long story short, we're at a dead end and no one walks near our room except for guests going to those 6 or 7 rooms.

We've been sleeping in, so haven't had breakfast. I may or may not have slept til noon today. 😉 i am fairly sure the barcelona lounge (in the lower lobby) has some light breakfast items. They have carafes of coffee all day. Dahlia lounge (on the top floor) doesn't open til 4 pm. Fwiw, the lounges appear to be tweaking offerings - the dahlia bartenders said they are adding a cheese plate over the next couple of days (currently available in barcelona but not dahlia) and possibly a dessert. If we find ourselves awake for breakfast, i will report back!
