I don't see any reason why there won't be room service. The only kitchen affected by the construction was the old food and fun center and I doubt that is where they prepared room service.

As to the person asking about construction in Spring 08 - at some point in the spring (april?) the concourse steakhouse will clsoe and construction will begin on the permanent quick service location. That should be the only interior construction going on the spring - of course they will still be working outside on the new building.
I would agree with this statement.

Is it true that the construction is running a little behind schedule? I hear that the Food N Fun Centre did not close on its original planned date.

The reason I ask is that I would like the opportunity to visit the Concourse Steakhouse one more time during our trip 13-18 April 08. Hope there is a little delay in closing the restaurant. :cool2:

You're correct. The Food & Fun Center was scheduled to close on July 30 but did not close until mid-Sept. However Disney is still listing the opening of "The Wave" as April 2008. Concourse Steakhouse will close as soon as The Wave opens. They're also way behind on the construction of the new shop on the 4th floor. It was scheduled to open in August but they didn't actually start construction until September.

I was just wondering if you can purchase milk and yogurt anywhere at the CR. I was considering ordering groceries and having them delivered to our room but not sure what prices run for these items at the hotel . Also curious about soda prices?
thanks

They are available and much cheaper at the Sundries & Spirits store than the Tempo Grab & Go. Yoplait was $1.29 and 1/2 gallons of 1% milk were $3.95. Both of these were available for a snack credit if you're on the DDP. We aren't big pop drinkers, so I can't tell you pop prices.

So is the Sundries and Spirits store still open? Do you know if they have those Uncrustables PB&J sandwiches? What else is in the Sundries & Spirits store?

Yes it's still open, I don't think I saw the types of sandwiches you were referring to and some other items they sell are soda's, beer, wine, various snacks like chips and etc, magazines, Disney movies, medical supplies and WDW suitcases.

Someone asked for pics of the usb drives on the in room computers. Here's two pics, the white cable is our I-pod, the black cable is the keyboard. We only used the usb port to charge our I-pod. I'm not sure if you'd be able to upload pics to the internet or not using it.

And here is a pic of the new gift shop, taken around 9/29.

Thanks for posting those pictures. I would have never guessed those area's of the computer could be used for usb drives. It's also good to see the new store is coming along, so let's hope it will be open around the 1st week of December.

Does anyone have a picture of what the Garden Rooms look like? Are they the same as the Tower?

We are staying at CR Garden View- I am not sure what that means?

Only the location is different from std Garden or Tower rooms. With a garden room you can have a view of the marina area (there is a pretty grassy area closer to the building so it is a garden view in that way)...

We like to request marina view as we prefer that side of the building. There are some photos on this thread, but go backward instead of from the 1st post. Maybe someone will post one :)

A Garden View at the CR will NOT have a view of the Convention Center, they are Standard view rooms.

The Garden View rooms will have a view of the pool, across a lawn, or grassy area with the lake in the background, or Bay Lake, or the canal between Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon.

Request a room on the first floor, for two reasons: 1) no stairs and the wing only has two elevators and 2) you get a patio with chairs on the first floor, second and third floors have a railing outside the sliding doors.

We stayed for a week in August and loved it. Arguably the quietest spot we've ever stayed in.

just wanted to post that there is a LOT of construction going on at the CR right now. I was there 10/5-10/8. Castmembers I asked said that the new gift shop area is supposed to open in about a month, and the DVC tower is supposed to be completed in 2 years. We had some mousekeeping issues- our room wasn't made up until after 3 one day. I'm planning another trip for Columbus Day weekend '08, and even though I'm a diehard CR lover I'm thinking of booking the Poly .

Ooops, cannot believe I wrote that about garden view rooms, how could I have fogotten! Thanks for the correction ~ an important one too!

I am reading bad reviews on Mousekeeping at the GF too. Seems like that is becoming an issue (no service, late service, poor service with Mousekeeping) at several Disney resorts. :sad2:

This is sad, really. I have always thought Mousekeeping was really good until this past trip in early Sept.
I hope this is remedied soon.

thanks for the responses. I have seen pictures of rooms in the Towers but nothing from the Garden wings.

How far is the walking to the pool, Monrail?
