Thanks skifast! I was the one who requested the pictures of the usb drives. Now we need to have someone try to upload from a memory card to Photobucket! :thumbsup2

Someone asked for pics of the usb drives on the in room computers. Here's two pics, the white cable is our I-pod, the black cable is the keyboard. We only used the usb port to charge our I-pod. I'm not sure if you'd be able to upload pics to the internet or not using it.

And here is a pic of the new gift shop, taken around 9/29.

Does anyone have a picture of what the Garden Rooms look like? Are they the same as the Tower?

We are staying at CR Garden View- I am not sure what that means?

Have you tried these threads/places? (Just be aware some pictures show pre-refurbished rooms with older furnishings.)

Kathy - based on that computer picture, I'm making DH bring the usb cable for our digital camera. Hopefully at some point in the next week I'll try and upload a picture to imagestation. I'm guessing if it works for that site it would also work for photo bucket.

This is sad, really. I have always thought Mousekeeping was really good until this past trip in early Sept.
I hope this is remedied soon.

In our last 2 stays at the CR, the cleanliness was excellent, but housekeeping usually came late (afternoon hours - sometimes late afternoon). It was usually somebody different every day, and generally they were pretty stingy with the towels and toiletries. Most weren't friendly, but not unfriendly either, just acted like they didn't see us.

During our last stay at the GF a few years ago there was a basket of used sheets outside our door all day every day, and it wasn't ours because housekeeping was always late getting to our room. By the end of our trip it had gotten rather disgusting.

A while back there was talk that Disney was going to outsource housekeeping -- maybe that's been done.

I'm getting ready to make my ADR's for our April '08 trip and I have a couple questions about the CR construction. I know this has been discussed, and I appologize, but I couldn't find the appropriate posts.

Tempo Grab and Go is open, I've seen the limited menu, not too excited about that.

When does the new counter service open?

When does the Concourse Steakhouse close? I thought I read that it would remain open unitil the new Counter service was open, but isn't the new counter service going to be where the Concorse Steakhouse is now located? Did they maybe mean when the new resturant opens?

Finally, I've been reading some poor reviews of Chef Mickeys. We've only been there for breakfast. I was planning a dinner there and I'm concerned about food quality. Any imput on this issue?

Thanks in advance for an information.

Ok, I found some of this information. The "Wave" is scheduled to open in April '08 and when it opens, the Concourse Steakhouse will close. So one or the other will be open, but either way it will still be the Tempo Grab and Go for counter service. Correct?

So my only other concern is Chef Mickeys. Anyone eaten there recently?

We have eaten at Chef Mickeys several times for breakfast and dinner and they are both excellent. You will not be disappointed there, at least we never have. I will say we got a less than desirable waiter once and he really was awful. We chalked it up to him being over worked and under tipped? Do NOT miss the dessert bar!! It is my absolute favorite there are lots of things to choose from and all cut into smaller portions so you don't feel quilty for having more than one. ENJOY!

Yes you are correct. When the Waive opens the Concourse Steakhouse will close and the Tempo Grab and Go will be open until sometime in August 2008, when Chef Mickey's Express opens up at the Concourse Steakhouse location.

Does anyone have any firm news if the Outer Rim Bar is also going next year when mickeys expands and the steakhouse closes?

I think someone posted that the Outer Rim would also be moving to where the Waive would be, however since no one is sure about that since nothing like that has been printed on the renovation schedule. What I can tell you is Chef Mickey's is not expanding.

We'll be there in less than 24 hours!!!!!!
Anything I should be aware of or any tips????
Thanks everyone.

Thanks - it will be a shame if it does go as we love the view of bay lake from the bar, unsure what type of view the wave is going to have, hope its not of the DVC construction!

Chances are there won't be any views at the Waive. My guess is the waiting area will be located where all the tables, cash registers and ordering area was of the Food & Fun Center. So that means all the tables would be located where all the arcade games use to be, since it's a huge space. Finally there were no views to look at and the closet thing to the outside was the automatic door at the back which lead into the old North Garden Wing.

We are planning on walking back to our room after out first night in MK. I have not be able to find a map showing the walking trail. Do they have signs posted after leaving the park to direct us the way back or do I need plan on following others going that way . I am planning on having my DD4(always happend at the end of the day) riding on my shoulders by then and want to get back before I give out! And how long does the walk take from the room to the MK ? I am not for sure where it even starts when leaving the CR.
Any help would sure be appreciated!

The CR is a deluxe and would be able to store your luggage during your stay. After unpacking, call bell services to pick up and store your luggage. Be sure to get a receipt for each bag and tip your bellman!

Torgue,
When you're exiting the MK, look to your immediate left. You'll see a brick pathway (or sidewalk). You will actually be walking under the monorail track at times (don't worry...it's not scary, and your DD4 will likely think it's pretty cool seeing the monorail above)! Halfway down the path it will lead you across the street (with pedestrian crossing lights) and over to the CR. You can either enter the CR via the main entrance or enter through the doors where the busses pick up and drop off (don't worry, you won't get confused, it's visibly easy to see). I'd say it's about a 10 minute walk...and enjoyable too(even at night)!! :thumbsup2

*Waving* Have a great time! Looking forward to whatever information you bring back, don't forget about us!
Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Our ride to ohare will be here soon. I will post some updated info soon. Have a good weekend.
