Cr Fan,

Can you see if you can find out once the Food & Fun Center is closed if the temporary location will have the refillable mugs? We got the Deluxe Dining Plan for 2008, and the mugs are included. If the CR isn't going to have them, then we may switch over to the Poly or GF.

Thanks!!

I have also booked a Deluxe Dining Plan for my family in early April 2008. Even with the Food n Fun Centre closed, I would imagine they would have the refillable mugs as they are promoting them as part of the package. If not, they should really offer some other benefit in return.

Any info would be appreciated. Many thanks.

This may have already been discussed or answered but here goes....

We are staying in the CR MK tower. I understand there are computers in all the rooms??? If I needed to download pictures from a camera, can I do it on this computer and then save them to a flash drive? I don't want to have to bring a laptop.:goodvibes
There is nothing on the in room computers where you can plug in you're memory sticks to upload pictures.

hi, would you mind sharing how much the tower mk view room AAA rate is? thanks
AAA discount during Value Season (when we are going) is 15% off. Rack rate for the Tower Theme Park View is $410 which made the rate (before tax) $384.50. Tax is 12.5%.

Not all rooms/categories are discounted, so call early to have a good chance for a room. If it isn't available when you call, keep trying as people cancel a lot.

Going to the CR for a convention. Where should I request a room to be close for DD who will be in a wheelchair and my mother who also has mobility issues? They will need fairly easy access to both the convention center and the dining areas.

TIA!

Will your family need to have an accessible room? We just went in July with my grandmother who was in a wheelchair. We called in mid June to request and accessible room and were told they were all gone. They were able to get her a chair for the bathtub/shower, but she didn't have any bars in the toilet area or anything else that she needed. If you need it, make sure you put it on your ressie early!

We were in the garden wing, and her room was 5310. It was a decent location and was fairly close to the elevator, however, it wasn't 'close' to any dining or convention areas. If you really need close access to the convention and dining areas, I would definitely say you need to stay in the tower.

I asked on the main board, but I think this might be a better place.

Where do you have a view of the MK fireworks at the CR (other than Cali Grill and Tower room balconies that face the MK)? I'd like to stay on NYE and I'm wondering if a garden wing room is going to be ok for us, as we're just staying one night, not going to any parks. I think it would be ok if we can watch the fireworks from a beach or some out door space.

I imagine the parking lot has a view of them, but I'm looking for something a bit more atmospheric. ;)

I was just at the Food & Fun Center having a late meal because until Thursday the grill is open until 12:00 AM since there is a huge covnevtion and I spoke with a manager and she told me the closing date for the Food & Fun Center is now September 9th. When I asked if they would be selling the YOAMD mugs at the temporary counter service location I was told they are not going to have them, because there is no soda machine up there. Instead they will be selling the 20 oz Coca Cola bottles. When I asked how come since they just started the YOAMD mugs, I was told because they ran out of the Contemporary mugs so they had no choice.

I can also report during the night they are renovating behind the lobby desk, so that means a lot of banging and drilling. However I think they are working now because it does not bother the guests during the daytime.

CR Fan, would you mind asking her how those on the Deluxe DDP starting in Jan will use their mugs then? That is part of the plan's cost. Or will we just get free drinks? Thanks for checking. Hope you have a great day!

Are they able to tell you what kind of food they will have for beakfast? Or what kind of snacks they will have at night? How much are the 20oz. bottles of soda at WDW??

I am really regreting my choice to stay at the CR this Sept.:sad2:
You will love the MK view, but if the F&FC temp location isn't good, you may want to consider buying some drinks, snacks, etc for your room. Still not optimal, but it might help. I'm worried about it for our early Feb trip.

Thanks, I have been thinking about what I should do for the past month, lol. I have already bought koolaide singles for the kids, and some Ice tea singles for me, I just haven't decided if I should just use the water out of the tap, or buy bottled water before we go.

We also always enjoy getting a snack at quick service locations at the hotel before going up to our room. Worst comes to worse we will just have to get something at the parks before we leave. It's just easier to do so at the hotels, I guess.

I'm trying my best not to let this bother me. I have wanted to stay at this hotel since I first went to Disney.

If it makes you feel any better, the snack options in the parks are WAY better than those at the F&FC :thumbsup2 We are snackers on the way back to our room too, and we found some great park options since the F&FC was so lacking :) :)

I agree it will just require a little more planning for snacks at night. We do the same thing and grab something on the way up to the room. I'm actually as concerned about not having a drink station. We always use the mugs!:confused3

If I see that same Cast Member I will do my best to try and find out that information.

When I was told about them not selling the mugs, I then said so it would be just like the times when there were temporary counter service locations at the Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge. So for anyone who was at those Resorts during those times you know what I am talking about, you would know what types of food they would sell.

As for how much the the 20oz bottles cost, at the parks the total was $2.00, however I am not sure if that was the same price at the Contemporary and other WDW Resorts.

Thanks for letting me know:thumbsup2 We will get some snacks before leaving the parks!

Piglet asked:

We have stayed on both floors. The 14th floor only received a "soft" refurbishment. The furniture wasn't changed....just the curtains and the bedding (although I can't remember if the closets were renovated - I don't think they were...which means more room in the old ones). We like the 14th floor rooms because they still have the old dressers, which means more drawer space. Also, the bathrooms still have the old deep filled sink (and lots of counter space) as opposed to the new flat square type - there are two, that don't seem to drain very well (and also splash back at you).

Do the 14th floor rooms have the new TV's and the computers?
