Looking at their schedule of renovations, the Outer Rim will be open in October. Anyway here is the schedule if you want to see it for yourself.

August 2007 - Newly renovated Fantasia Shop will re-open.

June 11, 2007 through November 2007 - The Lobby will undergo partitioned refurbishments to update the area's image and decor.

July 2007 through October 2007 - The resort's grounds will undergo partitioned refurbishments to install new landscaping and re-route existing guests paths.

July 30, 2007 through April 2008 - The Food & Fun Center will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as a new table service option, "The Wave". During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

April 2008 through August 14, 2008 -The Concourse Steak house will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as the new Counter Service location for the resort. During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

Just subscribing - one question though, I have booked a std rm in the wing for Aug. Any advice on a request they may get me a rm facing the MK? Preferably to see the fireworks . . . Cannot remember exactly where my room was when I stayed there in 2004. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Since you said you have requsted a room facing the Magic Kingdom am I correct to say your staying on the Atrum Club Concierge floor or a standard room on the Tower Club Concierge floor? The reason is they are the only floors where that view has to be requested, because on the regular floors you pay for the view and will get it 100%.

So assuming I am correct your request is just a request because it might come threw or it might not.

If im not mistaken, there are no magic Kingdom views in a standard wing room. You have to stay in the tower for that view.

I'm starting to research an 'Oh good Lord I'm turning 29 and it's been WAY too long since I've been to the World!' solo birthday trip for September/October 2008 and I'm strongly leaning to making it a totally deluxe trip. I L-O-V-E the new CR room designs. I've also got the Poly and AKL on the radar.

A little bit "out of season" to put in this request...but I am gonna do it anyway . Does anyone have any holiday pictures of the CR? We are going to be staying there after Thanksgiving through the start of December. Just looking for a sneak peek. The Contemporary is our very favorite resort and I am missing it. This fall we are staying at AKL and the GF...I am excited to revisit AKL and try out the GF but I am also a bit sad not to be staying at the Contemporary...SO...the holiday pictures might help me

OH and one more question...do they decorate the club level lounge at all?

We were there Dec 2005 on the Club level. The hotel hardly had any decorations, it did not feel "Christmasy" to me. We were staying on the 10th floor Atrium level while they were remodeling the new Club level. The 10th floor did not have any decorations. I was bummed, but we still had a fantastic time. I've always wished the CR would decorate more for Christmas. I'm hoping with the new remodeling they might start to.

We are hoping to go back Dec 2008. I've been thinking about buying our own tree and giving it to the Club lounge if they don't have one.

Actually we already went, and the first day in the arcade it was packed so I couldnt ask at the attendant so we just put money in the machine but later in the week I asked and they said yes that they would have converted the Disney Dollars onto a card for him to play but by then he had already purchased glowing Mickey ears, so no they did not go to waste and we just put more on his card so he could play. Thanks.

We are going Sept 19-24. I know that the Food and Fun Center will be closed and relocating at that time. The temporary food court...does anyone know that if it will have all the same items or will it be limited? I am really looking forward to slushies and this chocolate cake that I have been reading so much about on DIS. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!!

I have a caffeine ADDICTED sister and we need to be sure we have access at all times Is the coffee any good, or is it similar to the 'in park nescafe' nonsense?

It is in the lobby near the esclators. Coffe was very good according to DH, like a Starbucks deal.

According to the current schedule, the Concourse Steak House will be open for my trip in September! After seeing it was not in the 2007 edition of Birbaum and knowing about the construction, I thought it was going to be closed. Looks like it's time to revisit my dinner plans again
