Glad you had a great trip! Thanks for the great pix! We have not stayed at CR for 3 years - we've been staying Concierge at the GF alot. My DD wants to stay at CR for our short Feb. trip and I have an Atrium Club room on hold! Can you tell me anything else you like about Atrium Club? Is there any construction going on in the Tower right now? Is there a kid's part of the lounge with a tv? How are the food offerings? Thanks for any info! I'd love to see more pix if you want to share! Is there anything you disliked? Also, how's the pool and slide?

:cool1: We are headed back to the CR!!:cool1: The Contemporary is our very favorite resort. I am sure you all understand.;) We will be there during the Christmas season this year (end of Nov-early Dec) and I am so excited about it! I am hoping that some of you may have photos of the holiday decorations at the CR. I would love to take a sneak peek.

We are going to be staying on the Atrium Club level this time. Previously I had stayed in the tower with an MK view (as a child) and in the south wing with an awesome lake view!! I LOVE both views..so I won't be upset about either placement...however, I have requested a MK view.

ALL of that said...I do have a few lingering questions. Do any public areas on that floor face the lake view? I was told that the atrium club is no longer "concierge light" but rather full concierge...have any of you experienced this?

THANKS a ton for any photos of the holiday decorations at the CR or any input into the Atrium club!

:thumbsup2

I was at the Atrium Club 12/14 to 12/17. Although we weren't in the room much the concierge service we did experience was really wonderful.

The breakfast was pretty standard concierge. They had oatmeal but said it was seasonal-don't know if they will still have it in Feb. They also had Krispy Kream (sp?) donuts-YUM.

I was there one day for afternoon snacks and only remember these incredible brownies.

I was only there one time for early evening service and they had the typical fruit, veggies, cheese, crackers. They also had a humus spread and had ribs and chicken wings which were really good. Along with several different beers and nice selection of wines.

I was always too late to enjoy the desserts. My friends said they were really good.

There was a kids table near another TV in the lounge that is not in the really great pictures posted by TinkTatoo.

Do they have the hot chocolate/latte machine in the lounge. DD loves that at GF! great pictures! Are the renovated rooms wonderful? Did they do any type of work to the balconies? How was Food and fun center and the game room? Thanks!

We found the CM's to be very attentive and one in particular was lovely. There was no construction going on in the tower that I could see and the kids loved the pool and slide. DD got her Magical Moment when she got to open the slide and turn on all the fountains. They made her wear a Fantasia Mickey hat, gloves and wand and magically make all the fountains come on then the slide. As the parks were so busy and the weather so great we spent quite a bit of time by the pool and in the hammocks on the beach.

There are two TV's in the lounge and one of them is set low for kids. We found the food offerings great. Breakfast was 3 choices of cereal, Krispy Kreme donuts, mini muffins (the flavor changed each day) mini pastries, 3 types of bread, bagels and English muffins to toast with jam, cream cheese, peanut butter. Oatmeal, fresh O juice, cranberry juice, full fat, low fat and chocolate milk, coffee (regular and decaf) hot water for the selection of specialty t-bags from www.tealeaves.com

The snacks were a wide variety of soda's, water, coffee and hot water and a couple of things like rice crispy treats, brownies, some lovely oat bar, 3 or 4 types of cookies etc.,

We weren't there much for the evening offerings but on the two occasions we were they had chicken wings and ribs one night and garlic shrimp and mini pizza another. Both nights also had a selection of cheese with crackers and crudités and dips. There was also a selection of 5 or 6 wines (including a lovely white Zinfandel which I liked)

Later on there was yummy deserts (usually 5 or 6 to choose from) and 4 cordials.

The lounge was busy sometimes (usually just after 5pm and 8pm when the evening offering were put out) but we could always find somewhere to sit and they had 3 balconys overlooking the MK. I took my photo's at around 1pm while we were waiting for our room and we were the only ones there for the couple of hours we were there.

There is no public views of the lake on the 12th floor as the lounge is on the MK side. We just got back from a Christmas stay at the Atrium Club and it was a fantastic experience. There was a full concierge service and the lounge is a great place to chill

Here are some photo's of the lounge

All you CR experts. I was reading that the CR has a boat that goes from the CR marina to Fort Wilderness.

It also mentioned: seasonally: Boat from CR marina to Wilderness Lodge.

So what dates are seasonally? I'm going to be there mid march.
I'm looking for what places to eat for ADR's.

TIA,

The launch goes CR to Fort Wilderness to Wilderness Lodge and WL to FW to the CR. I don't remember which color it is (blue, yellow). It runs year round for the most part and will be in March as that is peak. It's about a 20min boat ride from the CR to WL. We took it to go to WCC. If you time your ADR at the WL correctly and take the launch back about 15min before Wishes, you get your own private and FREE fireworks cruise. We've done that twice and it's so nice!

We will be going this summer for the first time and I was wondering about tower views on the Bay Lake side. What will we see? Can you see the WL? We would really like that.

We stayed in a Tower Bay Lake view room in September. I think we were on the sixth floor. This is the view from our balcony.

We loved the Bay Lake view. Very relaxing and beautiful even if we could see and hear the pool from the balcony. :cloud9:

Ok, I've searched and still come up empty--can someone please help me? I'm trying to find out the difference between Garden VIEW, Garden WING room, and Deluxe(which I believe used to be called a junior suite)??

I'm most interested in room size/configuration.

Thanks SO much!!

Ok, I have a question. We are staying at CR MK view in Dec. this year and it is our 1st time at this resort (my dream vacation), anyway, now that the rooms have been renovated and there is no dresser with drawers under the new beautiful flat screen TV, where on earth do you put your clothes. We don't hang much and there are 4 of us; 2 of which are kids. Most of their clothes and ours is fold up stuff. I'm trying to think of a creative way to hang my panties, DH is not amused by the idea of me hanging his boxers. HELP!!!!

R/e storage in the new CR rooms, there are some drawers in the dresser that is to the side of one of the beds(my DH used these drawers). It sortof forms an "L" with the desk. There are I believe 3 drawers but they are pretty shallow. Inside one of the closets there are two small drawers that I used for my undergarments and bathing suits. The closets also have a shelf up high. We ended up hanging alot of clothes and I called mousekeeping to get extra hangers. We actually kept the kids' clothes in the suitcases.

I must say the two things that were lacking in the new rooms were drawer space in the room and counter space in the bathroom. We just improvised and didn't let it bother us. The rooms are large, the beds are comfy, the service is great, the location is very convenient, the rooms are quiet, and we actually liked the bathroom configuration having the toilet in its own room. I don't think any resort is perfect and the space issues didn't hamper our magical experience.

I hope that helps:wizard:

MARY!! It's good to see you over here my friend!! :)

Yes, you do have less storage space...but if you just hang all of your shirts and any shorts/pants which will easily hang then you will have more then enough drawer space for your unmentionalbes ;) and your socks. Make sure you use the storage space in the bedside tables as well. Also, the shelves that surround the tv itself make good medicine/sunscreen/lanyard/etc holders. Also, as mentioned above their is room in your closets to fold some things and leave them on shelves or in the drawers. Take advantage of it. Ask for more hangers. We called down twice to get a bunch of the.

As far as the bathroom storage goes, I found the storage not to be a problem as they had the shelf running under the sinks. However, to use the stuff, it was MUCH easier to just use one of the sinks as a shelf. Not a big deal at all.

Also, the room is very big and you can easily tuck a hamper in one corner of the room to have a place to throw your dirty laundry. Last but not least, there is a lot of desk top space. I would set my boys' outfits out on the desk each night. With such a long open space it was easy to keep the stuff we would need the next day organized and in good order.

Also, the built in shelf between the closets in the entry way is a great catch all place for things you are going to need often when leaving the room. We kept our keys, sunscreen, Key to the World cards, lanyards, camera and "day bag" there.

I think any small hassle of having to be a bit creative is more then balanced by the beauty of the rooms, the amazing sights from the windows (either Bay Lake or MK view) and the exciting feeling at being in the heart of it all!

HAVE FUN!!!:thumbsup2 You will love it!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thanks Jay!!!!

I have been somewhat scarce lately, and not on purpose. I have been working (substitute teaching) alot and then both DDs have Upwards Basketball or Cheerleading so that keeps me busy. Plus I have AWANAs and then I am also the Sunday School class social director and we have 2 socials coming up. Just busy busy busy!!!!

Thanks for the information. We leave in March and I have definitely been thinking about how to help with the lack of drawer space, especially with three children. I've purchased a few inexpensive gadgets, one for the bathroom, one for the closet(an organizer for the kids clothes) and a pop up disney hamper. Hopefully these will help, but your ideas definitely helped.

I was only at CR for 3 nights so I didn't bother with a hamper like I do on longer trips. I was thinking it would fit in the bathroom with the toilet-that room seemed pretty big.

Where is the salon located inside the CR? How to I get to it from the boat dock (we're coming from the WL)? Thanks!

GREAT idea! It's sort of a waste of space (unless you utilize it as a changing area, which I actually did). Next time dh said he was going to store the empty suitcases in there.:lmao:

I cannot wait to get back there this coming Nov/Dec! I am already doing the  dance and I still have many long months to go!!;) Anyway, I think I will borrow your great idea and stick my hamper in there! THANKS!
