Thanks for the info. :) One more question - for now.

Can you get a garunteed MK view with conceirge? We would like to try the Atrium Club.. but getting a MK view is much more important to us than the extra service.

On the Atrium Club floor, you would have to request a MK view. So it's not like a regular floor in the Tower because the Atrium Club is still more expensive, so I guess they think it's unfair to have Atrium Club guests paying even more for a MK view. However last month my family & I did not request a MK view, but still got one when we checked in. Although we have had a MK view so many times, we are just happy to be there & if we had a Bay Lake view we would not mind. Also even if you did not get a MK view, you can still see the fireworks & evertying from the lounge. It may not be what you wanted & I can understand where your comming from, however still thought I should point that out to you.

Thanks, everyone, who mentioned that you can watch the fireworks from the Atrium Club lounge. The first 2 nights of our trip will be the last 2 nights of MVMCP. Will sound be piped into the lounge or on the TV channel for the special Holiday Wishes?

That's the only thing I feel we're really missing out on by not attending MVMCP (since the other shows and parades will take place throughout Christmas week), so I'd love to be able to catch the show from the lounge.

Last month when I was there, the Wishes music was piped into the Contemporary information channel. If it's not on that channel, then it will sure be on the WDW Today channel.

I booked Atrium online--the confirmation sent by email says Atrium Club. The confirmation I received in the mail doesn't specify room type. If I go online, it says "Tower Clubs ". I don't know if that's a new description and indicates any changes or they're grouping both together for programming purposes online.

Hello,

Have tower MK view in two weeks. Is the view better form the MK end of the hotel? Is it worth requesting? Are the lower floors bothered by any noise from Chef Mickeys or the monorail? Do all the rooms have refridgerators? Is it quicker to take the monorail to GF and then catch the bus to MGM, AK, or downtown disney? Is is best to call the CR directly for room requests?

Thanks
Hi drstew. I just came back from a trip to WDW that included a stay at the Contemporary. I had room 4338, which is on the 7th floor. It was a Magic Kingdom view room, and was almost exactly in the "middle" of the rooms in terms of proximity to the Magic Kingdom.

Here are the details:
- the rooms, as with all regualr rooms in the Contemporary Tower, has been renovated, and included a refrigerator (note: you should make sure the fridge is turned up to 5 or 6 (out of a possible 6) as soon as you enter the room as it seems to take a long time for the fridge to cool down)
- we did not encounter any loud noises from Chef Mickey's
- the view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our balcony was fantastic. We were in the middle in terms of close/far from the Magic Kingdom in the tower, and I think you will get a great fireworks view with any Magic Kingdom view room, but I suppose it couldn't hurt to ask for a room on the MK end of the tower
- in terms of room request, I think it is best just to put them on your reservation. When I checked in, I was able to request a room different from that which I was originally assigned (I made no room requests on my reservation).

Has anyone stayed at the Contemporary during the week of Halloween before? We definitely are going to the MNSSHP but I was wondering if the resort had special fun activities?
Last year we stayed at POFQ and they had a Pumpkin Carving contest that was so fun.
Any info is appreciated! :goodvibes

We have a reservation for the Atrium Club in December & have confirmations that were mailed to us by CRO & found off disneyworld.com & both of them say Tower Club. On the mailed confirmation & Tower Clubs on the internet confirmation. However we know the reservation is for the Atrium Club because on our previous 2 vacations there, our confirmation said Tower Club but we were on the Atrium Club, so I hope this helps you out.

I've stayed at the Contemporary 3 times. Each time my son slept on the daybed. We were there 8/6/06, and he is now 5'11" and had no problems with it.

Does anyone one have an estimate of how long it takes to get back to CR after Illuminations? I am trying to put together some touring plans for our trip, but I don't know how late we will be up, so it is hard to figure what is a reasonable time to get up my crew in the morning. I know Illuminations starts at 9:30, how long does it last and where is a good place to watch it that will keep us near the exit area? As you can tell this will be our first chance to watch. I am guessing we won't be back in our room until around 11pm. Does that sound about right?

Thanks in advance!

I've made that trip many times, and I would say you have a good estimate at an hour and a half. 1/2 hour for IllumiNations, and an hour for the walk to the monorail plus EPCOT monorail ride and Resorts monorail ride. UNLESS it is during the Holiday or other peak season, when you may have to wait a little while to get on the monorail after park closing. One thing you mentioned is interesting---I don't recall IllumiNations starting on the half hour. Seems like it's always started at 9 or 10, whenever the park closes.

I'm not the authority on closer-to-the-exit viewing areas. It seems we are almost always in the France, Morocco, Japan neighborhood--pretty far back. My sister likes those French wine carts!

Just to add confirmation and confusion at the same time, we booked via CRO the Atrium Club Concierge, and our paper reservation says Tower Club, too. I guess I should expect the 12th floor. I can't wait. Love those September rates and availabilities!!! Anyone have recent experience with the CR Concierge food? I know we are talking snacks, but what kind of snacks have they been offering?

I am so excited for you! We are staying Atrium Club in Dec, so I would love to get the full scoop when you get back. I am wondering how tall the railing is on the balconies.

Have a wonderful trip!

I'll take lots of pictures. I will try to remember to check the railing height.

Denise - Have a wonderful time!! I want to see that chocolate monorail, too. DH ordered one for us when we stayed CR 14th floor Nov '04, but the concierge screwed up and it never was made or delivered. :guilty: I forgot about them, but it sounds very cute. You all will love the CR. It is just bustling with excitement and Disney action. I really loved walking b/f to the MK. :sunny:

In your sig, is that the friend that had lung cancer? I thought she just found out - Did she pass so quickly? I am so sorry. How awful. :grouphug:

Are you staying in the Tower? We'll be on the 12th floor and arrive around 11am on Saturday. It's me, DH, and our BBG triplets age 6. Hope to see you there!
