It has been said on other boards that the North wing will be closed starting Oct. 1st. They have also showed drawings of what the new DVC building will look like. The drawings were from the website of the company designing the new building. It looks like this will happen but it has not been confirmed by Disney

I'm trying to make a reservation at the Contemporary, and Disney is saying that because it's DH, myself, and our 3-year-old, that we won't fit in a king room. I thought that all the king rooms had daybeds, and therefore would fit 3? Help???

The room we had had a King bed but no daybed. Just a sofa-looking thing that didn't pull out into a bed.

You should be fine with that. My son was 3 last year when we went and stayed at the GF same sofa/bed thing in the room. He wouldn't sleep on the bed only wanted the daybed.

Hello everybody!
I just switched my GF reservation to CR MK view! I know NOTHING about CR, so i'm wondering: Do i need to put in any special requests for the room? Are all MK views equal?
PS DH is less than thrilled to be staying at what he calls "The Big A" How do i get him excited about this trip? We are at CR for 3 nights before moving to AKL, which is his favorite. I don't wnat him spending the 3 days saying " I wish we were at AKL."
HELP!!!!

Up until a few weeks ago, we had a GV booked with North blg. request.

when I rebooked the tower (mk view ), I asked CM if the north bldg. would still be open - I was told yes???

Many of us holding our breath for an announcement of CRV in Oct.

BTW, I cannot get a straight answer from CRO...are all the MK view tower rooms rehabed yet (or will they be by Oct.)? They were still working on the lower floor MK view rooms the end of June...not sure whether to ask for a rehabed room...hate to "junk up" ressie w/too many requests.

I stayed on the 11th floor Bay View side, and I didn't see any construction workers on the MK side 5th - 11th floor. There is construction going on the concourse, but BVG and Fantasia, Chef Mickey's and Concourse Steakhouse were all open.

We will be staying at the CR Garden wings this December, and I am trying to figure out what to request. I know I would like a non-smoking, rennovated room, upper floor. Is there anything else I could request. What are the different views from the south wings (I am assuming that's where we'll be, since I read the North Wing is closing in October). Also how long is the walk from the south wing to the tower and MK. Thanks

Somewhere earlier in this thread, I believe, they said all the tower rooms are done expcept 14th floor. The 14th floor should be finished within the month.
So the entire tower, for rooms, should be done.

macrosswife, we had the same problem booking a room at the CR last night too. We have 2 kids, a 2yo and a 2 week old (who will be 3 months at the time of the trip) and they kept telling my husband that the only room available at the CR was a king bed club level room and that we couldn't get it cause we're a party of 4. We we were going to book at WL instead and when she was entering our info the CM told him "Oh wait, your daughter is 2, not 12?" He confirmed that and she said "Oh, well then you can have the king bed room then after all." Not sure why that made all the difference though. I could see if she were our only kid, then we'd be 2 people plus 1 under 3, but we're 2 under 3 so you'd think one of them would have to count towards occupancy totals.

Yes all the rooms are done and the 14th floor should be completed by the end of the month.

HELP ME, I'm confused....
Do I need to ask for a re-furbed room as a request, we are going 8-28 and have standard view. I thought that the South wing is all converted and the north is closed but please tell me if that is not the case.
I did not put any room request on my reservation yet, I was going to call in the beginning of the week.

Checking the WDW site today, I see that "atrium" rooms are availabe for around $225 more for 2 nights.

Would these be the standard concierge rooms?

Think the CR has the most convulted classification of room types onsite, especially in the wing bldgs.
BTW, CRO told me ALL rooms @ CR are NS...

Just paid on a 10th floor atrium club level room for sept. Have been told by several cms(have called many,many times!) that this is full concierge level too...now if I can just get the king bed, magic kingdom view room that I requested!!


Someone mentioned heinken available in lounge - is it free or cash bar??
(would make my dh very happy!)
