I found the same thing. I was checking to see if changing to a tower room :) was possible but the Disney Website did not offer this as a choice of room. My logic made me wonder if this meant the place was full during the time I would be there. I am relieved to hear that this was the case at other times of the year as well b/c I really don't want huge crowds this time.

Thanks for that link. Those pictures are FABULOUS!

It is my understanding that they do not put 14th floor Tower Club rooms on the website engine.(Someone please correct if this is wrong) In order to see availability for the 14th floor suites or regular rooms, you will need to call them directly. So rooms might still be available.

Does anyone have any suggestions?:confused3

standard view are only in the wings not the tower.

the south wing is the only one opened. It has been rehab (you don't want the north wing even if available - it has not been rehab).

the south wing is as far from the MK as you can get for the Cont.

I would try for a first floor - so you do get a patio.

there are no balconies - and I really appreciate a balcony.

hopefully you will get an upgrade....you can wish for one. :cloud9:

I booked the 14th floor (regular room) on the website. I did it for an upcoming September trip. I made the ressie in May. Maybe things have changed since then, though I doubt it.

I was also wondering what the differences are in the views with the wing rooms. :confused3 This will be our first stay at CR, and we have a standard view room. What will this be, possibly the parking lot or the inner courtyard facing the main building?

I got my reservation confirmation yesterday and, to my surprise, I had booked a garden view, when I thought I had booked standard. I would love to be able to see bay lake- although, I am typically not picky about what view I have. Question-if you have a view of bay lake, can you see the water pageant or does it only go certain places?

When I called to add my AAA discount from my exsisting ressie for a standard view the CM read it 'garden view'. I said I'm suppose to have a standard view. She said it is called a standard garden view and then they have the water view. So I figure 2 things are for sure 1) the parking lot would be a standard garden view and 2) bay lake would be a water view. But what I don't know is the inner wing rooms where you can not see the pool or bay lake, now I have only stayed in the north wing before so I'm not sure how many rooms in the south wing you can see the pool from since the south wing is probably the only wing we are dealing with this year. Really what I want is the rooms that overlook the courtyard in the back, DD is afraid if you get the bay lake view an alligator will come up to the window in the morning instead of a duck. Hopefully those rooms will also be concidered garden views but I love the contemporary and I am so glad that I finally got ressies for it next summer that even if you have to look at the parking lot from your garden view I don't care. I'm sure you can see the Magic Kingdom from some of those rooms and the monorail going round.

:wave2:

We are staying at the CR in a few weeks. We can walk to Mk correct?
How long is the walk?

You can call CRO and change the room type and keep the same reservation number.

Hi all! This is my first post on the DIS boards (though I've been viewing them and learning from them for years!). My DH, Myself, my Dsister, DD12, and DD10 are staying at the CR for the first time at the end of August. We've always stayed at the ASMo since the girls were born. But my sister decided to join us and we needed a bigger room. DH and I are definitely "mug people". He'd go each morning and get coffee :) , hot choco and wake us with it. I haven't seen anyone mention if the CR has the mugs. It's part of our Disney tradition so I hope someone can tell me. Thanks!

Yes, they have the refillable mugs! We love the CR. Have fun!

Not for quite a while.

Rumor has it that the North wing will be turned into a new DVC "resort" a la WLV

Does anyone have any idea when the North wing will be rehabed?

Rachel,
Rumor has it that the North Wing will be made into DVC. I have not seen any 'hard' date for it happening. But, if someone knows they will be sure to post.
