Who is better equipped to deal with an undelivered resort-linked magic band+ order (which appears likely for our upcoming trip) - the atrium club level staff or the main front desk?

I guess it depends on what you mean by “deal with” - but I’d lean Atrium Club, more likely to get some sort of action with them IMO.

How close are you cutting it?

Ordered 7/27, but slim to no chance they arrive before we leave. The kicker is that we’re headed to PB CL for a few days first, so they technically may arrive before our WDW check-in. I think a refund or gift card to buy new bands would be fair…we shall see!

Well good luck! I had some arrive recently. I’m an idiot and ordered without actually reading anything about them, just got caught up in the hype. And now I see you have to charge them. I have zero room for more charging cables and devices in my life!

The things we do for haptics…

When is your stay? I ordered on the 27th too. our first day is Sept 4th, Ours shipped on the 19th. Arrived at our city distribution center at midnight. I expect to get it tomorrow or Saturday. So 7-8 days from shipping notification. Good luck!

I did too! Somehow I thought they did more than they actually do. We rarely watch the fireworks shows & when we do, it’s usually from somewhere else, like our resort balcony. And no interest in the Galaxy’s Edge games. So I guess I’m left with it lighting up with the gold statues (sometimes). I’ll probably wear it once or twice & revert to my other bands. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I posted in the restaurant forum, but this may be a better place for my question. Any recent experiences here getting on the standby list for breakfast at Steakhouse 71? And is it possible to join virtually from the garden wing or do we need to be in the tower to join?

Second question, what has been your recent experiences making room requests for standard view rooms in the Garden Wing? I’m unable to upgrade the view because it’s a conference rate, and only available with standard view. We know we may wind up with one of the “wall-view” rooms, but would prefer one of the ones that face the parking lot. I don’t even know how to phrase the request (room not facing the wall of the building?). The touringplans descriptions for the wall and the parking lot view rooms are the same, (garden building facing west), so I don’t think that will work.

When we had a std garden for one night I used the phrase “as close to main tower/lobby as possible” we finally got a room in that first section of the garden tower and it faced the parking lot and the monorail as it entered the back of the resort. We were on third floor almost in a corner, so there was also a tree right outside which shielded the view nicely. We can’t remember the room number. Good luck.

Just got home from 6 nights in a Garden Wing Garden View room - 5326. Loved my first stay at the Contemporary! The room was cuter and nicer than I was anticipating.

My one quibble is that they have smoking locations directly to the side of the walkway to the Garden Wing from the Tower and then right next to the entrance to the Garden Wing. That made the elevator often smell like cigarettes - either from the smoke drifting in or smokers getting directly on the elevator after smoking with very little walk to let the stench dissipate a bit.

Glad you enjoyed your CR stay! I was curious what you would think about it.

Yeah, with due respect to the smokers, those smoking areas are along the running path too and it always seems like people are there in the morning. Not all the time, but sometimes. Not that I really have a better spot in mind, but I have often wished they were pulled back away from the building/walkway a bit.

We very much enjoyed our first stay at the CR in the garden wing. We had a garden view and were on the third floor just past the second elevator. Had a lovely view where we watched the boats coming to MK from wilderness lodge and the campgrounds. It was a bit of a trek to/from the lobby but not unmanageable by any means.

Being able to watch the fireworks (especially from the Halloween party) and the electrical parade was really wonderful.

My only "complaint" is the refill station for the mugs. Wish there were more of them...and the ones at CBR were much better having the freestyle machines which have the flavored seltzers and not just soda.

Is this a constant issue with the garden wing? We typically stay at GF but have 1 night at CR at the end of September for a halloween party. Figured CR would be easiest with its super close proximity to MK and our rate 583 v 770 - since we are literally coming for the party and driving home the next afternoon figured CR would be good to try this time.

I don't think they move the smoking section daily, so the only way it would not happen is if you happen to be there when there are no smokers on property. Otherwise the bench just to the side of the entrance is the smoking zone.

Thanks - sorry, should have rephrased. Obviously they aren’t moving the area! Just wondering if we are doomed to a stinky elevator ride every day. Do the rooms or hallways smell in that wing from smoke?

I only noticed it when I was in that elevator. Because I was in the middle building, I'd often just walk down the first floor hallway to the center hub and take that elevator.

Staying for the first time at CR in October. Is there a place to watch the MK fireworks from CR that is outside?

Just wanted to hop on and say a quick thank you to everyone who helped answer my many questions!!!

We just returned from our stay and it was more amazing then I ever could have imagined!

We had a standard view garden wing and just LOVED it!!! Kids loved seeing the monorail from the room. We were on the ground floor which had a little patio. Such an easy walk everywhere and so quiet!!! The bathroom was amazing and the room larger than we expected. Very clean too!!!

The morning after check in we asked for fresh towels and to remove the old ones, as well as trash removal. We had a lot of towels from cleaning up from the airport and such and read they come every other day so I was surprised to come back to an entirely made up room on day 2, even tho I only asked for trash and towels. It was a nice surprise especially after a long park day!

This was our first time staying here and we already can’t wait to return. I think we have officially been converted from an Epcot resort area family to magic kingdom resorts!
