I agree! I loved watching the fireworks from our "lake view" balcony at BLT. Seeing them from a different perspective is always fun.

I do love the views from both sides there but I actually like to watch TV late at night. The TV is not just very small, it's also a pretty low-quality picture (unlike the fireworks that have been so utterly spectacular lately.) For people whose fave mode of transportation is their feet, it's such a perfect location, but I do think the frustrating outdated technology is really being carried by the location.

I'm finding it harder to stay at BLT due to how beat up my last two rooms were. Really a shame because it was my favorite DVC resort too.

Not sure how many nights you are looking for. I see that you can book it for Oct. 23 but if you add additional days it says "unavailable"....maybe play around with the check out dates, depending on your flexibility. Looks like a lot of resorts sold out that week. Not sure what's going on besides the 50th.

I think it's a combo of pent up demand, 50th, and Halloween. And CR is always in demand even when nothing is happening.

I keep an eye out for reports, but haven’t seen anything. :-(

With CR mostly closed and things like Hoop and Artists Point that attract a bigger non-guest crowd still closed, I guess it’s not a priority for them at the moment? Or at least that’s my assumption.

Makes sense I guess. I haven't been following this too closely but decided to do a quick trip next month and noticed some availability for WL just opened up. I think without the boats though, I wouldn't want to stay there without Artist's Point and Hoop, campfires, etc being open.

Still searching for CR availability and back to the drawing board for other options .

No, for now room service is not being offered at any resort except for GF and Disney has suspiciously scrubbed any reference about it from the website. TBD what they have in mind for it returning.

Stayed at the Contemporary more than 30 years ago and now we are staying at BLT for the first time in February. Looking forward to getting some great advice from everyone on here!

The Wave was offering to go orders before it closed. Possibly the new restaurant will offer some type of to go orders or room service when it opens

We rented and we’re not charged parking.

We had room 7912 (9th floor). It happened to be an accessible room that they upgraded us to from a Lake view studio. We did not request or need an accessible room.

Parking fees are included in DVC annual fees. So if you rented points from an owner, you won't pay for overnight parking at your resort. If you valet park (once it is offered again), you will pay for that.

Do I need to know the DVC member’s member # or anything like that or do I just let the gatekeeper know we are renters? I just want to be prepared...and not pay for a week’s worth of parking if I don’t have to. Ha. Thank you!
