Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

We're movin' on up! With the recent discount we upgraded from the GW to the main tower with a Bay Lake View. My TA requested a higher floor and away from Chef Mickey's. Are there really specific requests that are ideal, like:

9th floor with an odd number or the like?

We have 2 rooms with 6 adults and two 5-year-old princesses.

Me too! Hopefully they hold up better than the Poly ones we got a few years back. The design comes off WAY too easily, even in handwashing them!

I've never liked The Wave's decor. To me, eating in a place without windows makes me think we're in a cellar.

But lord knows, we've had some really great food, there.

That's great to hear about the food. The Wave has never been on our list, but with all of the great things I've read about it, it's tempting to try .

Wish they still sold resort polos.

I had a Contemporary one that I really liked. Very smooth, light weight cotton. Wore a hole in it.

(When I would wear it to Contemporary, people thought I worked there.)

(Although I do have a "“Por favor manténgase alejado de las puertas" tee. Does that count?)

How cool!!! I loved when they had the resort specific refillable mugs I still have my two from CR. I remember how much fun my sisters and I had going down to the old counter service spot and getting coke slushies in them. Ahhh, those were the good ol days

And yes the monorail shirt totally counts!!! I have one too--it's so soft

I still have three from WL. (They're both much cooler souvenirs, and much better mugs than the ones they use now.)

Question for those who have stayed at the contemporary before....how long does it take to arrive from the airport to resort using magical express?? Trying to plan dinner times!! Thanks

I have a Poly mug that did the same thing within the first few times washing it. I was thinking about calling to ask if I could get a replacement. I LOVE that mug but I'd rather have one that still had the design on it.

I always budget around 90 minutes for any resort (from exiting the plane to entering the resort). Most of our experiences have been in the 60-75 minute range. I would be very cautious of scheduling a dinner on arrival day though because there are so many things that could delay you. The only time we made an ADR we were landing at MCO at 8 am and had an ADR for California Grill at 8 pm.

Reports like this come up on the transportation board every once in a while. I'm very glad I haven't had any long waits, but this is exactly why I won't schedule anything that can't be easily missed on arrival day.

Nice! We totally booked CR for the convenience factor! I have been thinking about the Wave...did you do breakfast, lunch or dinner? I have heard great things about their breakfast.

I've never really given The Wave consideration (I'm still sad that they closed Concourse Steakhouse as that was one of our favorites ), but I have read a lot of great things about it (especially breakfast). Did you go for breakfast or dinner?
