The threat of that much construction at the Poly still with renos to O'Hana and Kona possible... I just couldn't do it...

Can someone tell me how to pay for the washing machines at CR. Do I need quarters or can my magic band be swiped? Also, is the only set of washers by the gardrn wing and are they close to the pool? Hate the thought of doing laundry on vacation, but we're staying 10 nights, and that would be a lot of clothes to pack!

Laundry at Contempirary is in the garden wing, second floor. Feels to me like it's near the center of the building. So, if you're in the tower, then you will be walking past the pool, to get to it.

And yes, the machines, including the vending machine for the soap and things, use magic bands. (And charges a dollar or some such, to your room).

HAHAHA... YEAH! We figured that even if the new pool is open, it's going to be BUSY!

We stayed at BLT this past summer and LOVED the location! You will especially enjoy being able to walk to the MK with a stroller. We ate at The Wave on a last minute reservation, and it ended up being one of our favorite meals, even for the kids!

I like your quotation marks around "bad." That's pretty subjective, isn't it? For example, we hate being anywhere near an elevator and others request it.

So excited! I'm having the travel agent move us from POR to CR-Bay Lake View for the majority of our girls' trip as a surprise for my mom I let my sister in on it---mostly so she could help me make the decision which deluxe to upgrade to
It's been awhile since I've been back to the CR and I've never been Bay Lake side. I would have gone TPV, but all that is left for the AP rate is BL--so it will be a new experience
Can't wait to be back!!!
We'll check in really late on 1/22 and check out to transfer to Poly on 1/25.

I've never really given The Wave consideration (I'm still sad that they closed Concourse Steakhouse as that was one of our favorites ), but I have read a lot of great things about it (especially breakfast). Did you go for breakfast or dinner?

We did breakfast there one year, and I really enjoyed it. The kids not so much but I think it was because they wanted to see the characters. Lol

I've never liked The Wave's decor. To me, eating in a place without windows makes me think we're in a cellar.

But lord knows, we've had some really great food, there.

For breakfast, my kids only care about good eggs, pancakes and bacon, lol!
Maybe I'll book a breakfast for our last morning.

Just booked a Garden Wing room (first deluxe for us) and I am curious as to how far a walk it is from the middle of the garden wing to the main building and to MK. Some of what I read is that Garden wing is not very desirable. We are accustomed to staying in moderates so walking is not an issue for us. I am just wondering if it is worth the extra money to stay at CR.

The GW is maybe 2-3 minutes from the tower. The walk to MK is 10-15 mins at most. We loved the garden wing!!! The rooms are decorated exactly the same as those in the tower, but are much quieter. Perfect for mid-day naps! Plus, we were on the 1st floor, so never had to wait for an elevator (which can take a while in the tower). And the walk to MK can't be beat, no matter where you stay in the resort!!

Granted, this is some really subjective opinions of distances.

I'd say that, from the laundry, which I assume is near the middle of the garden wing, to the Contempirary lobby, is maybe 100 yards. (And one flight of stairs, since the laundry is on the second floor of garden wing).

From Contemporary lobby, to the entrance to MK? Rough estimate, four times that?
