What is the Best room request for tower room bay lake View?
Some like to request an odd numbered room so that when you're in bed, you'll face toward Epcot, FW, WL instead of toward BLT. Some prefer a high floor or to be away from Chef Mickey's so you're less likely to hear the Celebration song every hour.

Thanks…I was about to ask the same thing…a friend of mine just came back and was upgraded from garden wing to tower with no charge just by asking…if I am booked in a bay lake view room is there any point to ask for an upgrade??

My only request when staying there with that view is a higher floor; but that's a request I make at any hotel anywhere. I guess I just like being higher up. I never really concerned myself with the noise from Chef Mickey's because most of the time we'll be in the parks when the song would be playing. But if you plan on sleeping in, then that might be a concern for you.

Just curious - does this happen often that people get upgraded from garden wing to tower? We're booked for garden wing, which is fine for us, but I wouldn't say no to an upgrade! :rotfl:

Does anyone have a picture of the chair pulled out at BLT? My niece and nephew are fighting over who is going to sleep on the chair as they think the chair is like a recliner. I would like to be able to show them a picture. Thanks :)

It is not like a recliner but more like a sleeper sofa, only narrower. It's twin sized and flips open to make a flat sleeping space.

Another question - what stop is the Contemporary on DME? Asked another way - what is travel time from the airport to the Contemporary? Thanks so much for the help!

It can vary but we were last in October and it took us almost 2 hours from landing to check in. But that's the worst case scenario. I'm sure others have had better luck!

Oh wow. That is longer then I thought but I get you are saying it is worst case. Thanks!

It seems like it always takes us around 90 minutes, regardless of which resort we're at! We do take our own luggage with us, so that takes some time. But we always end up having to wait for the bus to fill up before we take off. And it always seems like there is at least one stop before ours, but the order can change, so you can't judge a future order on the past order!

In general, count on it taking between an hour and an hour and a half and you'll be all but assured that your experience fits in that window.

Does anyone have recommendations on room requests for Garden Wing/View Rooms? Just paid my trip off and am counting down the days until my first CR stay!:woohoo:

We had a 1st floor bay view room and loved it! We could walk right from our patio to the pool/beach and were still pretty close to the tower. You can request 1st floor during online check in and I called to add the water view request about 3 days before we checked in. Have a great stay at CR!!!!

Have a question, which will also serve to bump us back up to the front page.

Is there any advantage to arriving at the resort earlier in the day to check-in? Does it affect room assignment at all? We will be staying at POR on our arrival night and then checking into BLT for 6 nights the following day. My kids are really wanting to see AoA, so we are planning to head over there during the day to let them look around. Trying to decide if we should head to BLT immediately after checking out of POR, then head back to look at the other resorts, or check out AoA right after leaving POR, then head over to BLT and stick around for the evening until our dinner reservation at 1900 PF.

Thanks for reading my incredibly nit-picky planning question. :goodvibes

Hiya. Rooms are assigned a week to ten days in advance, so it wouldn't affect assignment. BUT, if you actually got a "bad" room, you might have a better chance of getting a switch if you were earlier in the day, since they can't switch if someone is already physically in the other room. Of course someone else will get the bad room, but better them than you. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

How early is early though? If it's too early, they may not tell you the room number until it's ready.
