Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

One month from today we'll be checking in to BLT for the first time! So excited, but feel likes there's so much to do!

We fell in love with staying Club level so we are doing club level at Contemporary with a TPV!! Sept 19-25 after two days at Loews Royal Pacific! Now if only September would get here sooner....

Sounds like a great trip you have planned . September seems far away, but it will be here before you know it!

So excited! 1 month from now we should be landing at the Orlando airport! Then off to Bay Lake Towers for a week!

No, we were visiting our favorite colonial attraction right here in Virginia. A very happy and healthy 2015 to you, mickeynut1! Is it almost time to book?

No definite plans yet, but I am playing around with the new spring discount that just came out. I am thinking about a possible Mother's Day weekend trip or an early June weekend trip and then a longer trip in December around Christmas, but no set dates yet.

The Deluxe rooms are great and really hard to book - congratulations!

Wow - I didn't realize they were hard to book. Is there a particular reason for that?

We spent about an hour walking around the Contemporary hotel during our visit last week and looked at the Garden Wing vs the Tower -- yes, we fell in love with the quiet garden wing area and how nice it was. I went online and saw that room listed - great price and it looks like a junior suite. Lady on the phone had no problem booking it!

That list is exactly what I needed!!

Silly I know about the hair dryers .....just trying to avoid any issues for our trip.
My hubby and I will have the Master bedroom and I want to make sure our guests/friends will have everything they need for our stay.

The 'list' is like the roll call in the first post.....it's a list of members going to be staying at the Contemporary or BLT and the dates they will be there!!!

If you post your dates Kook (or one of the mods) will add your name and dates!

The music for the fireworks is on your TV.

(I think it's on channel 105, but I think it's moved, at least once. I often have to phone the front desk and ask which channel it is.)

It's one of those channels where they scroll a lot of text messages, about various things you can do at the resort. most of the time it has a kind of "elevator music" background. But when the fireworks (and I think, the pre-fireworks show, too) start, then the fireworks music overrides the normal music.

I was doing online checkin and got to room requests. We have a theme park view reserved, I'm assuming a balcony and upper floor would be the best requests to get good pics of the castle and fireworks?

Have two questions about the rooms. The WDW website does not have a refrigerator listed as an amenity at CR, but I thought all WDW rooms have them now. Also, does anyone have the dimensions of the in-room safe? I want to make sure my small laptop fits before I decide if I want to bring it. Thanks!

Cannot speak to the size of the safe, but can tell you that yes, you will have a mini fridge. Enjoy your stay!!!

I've noticed that they don't list a fridge, either. But every room I've ever had there, has had one. (Granted, all were in the tower, and almost all of them were theme park view.)

As to the safe, it's not huge. But I'd estimate that it's probably 20 or more inches wide, probably 20 deep, but maybe 6 inches high.

Yeah, it'll hold a laptop. (Although there are some huge laptops, out there.) Almost certainly two. (But maybe not two, if they're in their bags.)

Those dates sound great and I think a Mother's Day trip sounds perfect. Where might you stay?

There are only 3 Deluxe rooms at CR and they're about 200 SF larger than a STD room size so they get booked fast.

You're welcome and I don't think that's a silly question at all (or I wouldn't have put the list in the BLT chapter). You want to be fully prepared for your trip and the DIS is a great place to do it.

Thanks for explaining about the Log-orail. Actually, the Moderators don't modify Resort Information threads, only the person who created and posted the thread does that. The Moderators monitor posts, can post warnings and remind posters of posting etiquette and can remove or move posts if they choose, but they don't modify or edit the content of the information.

All the rooms have a balcony and guests do frequently request a high floor. Another popular request is an odd numbered room because you'll face the MK while in bed.
