Wow my son would LOVE that view! What are my chances if I request a room with both views? We will be going in a busy season but I plan on booking 11 months in advance. We will be celebrating my kid's birthday there ( twins) and I want it to be REALLY special!! :)

Thanks for all your help!!!

Dated merchandise would be most prevalent at Bay View Gifts. They should have everything you need there:)

TY, Kook! I didn't even realize there was more than one shop! Great!

BTW, I was originally on the Lodgers Log for our trip but ended up switching to CR when the spring deals came out. So we'll be at CR TPV CL April 27-May 4 if want to add us to the Log-orail :goodvibes We'll have to catch you at WL next time!

When staying on a high floor in the tower, can you hear the monorail run and is it loud?

I've read that the "Late Summer" (Aug/Sept) Free Dining Promotion might *possibly* be announced later this week or next week...

Do any of you remember if the Garden Wing rooms have been included or excluded in years past?
Unfortunately, the Tower rooms don't fit into our budget this year (even with the FD) so if the GW rooms are excluded, I will have to switch hotels - which I really do NOT want to do! :guilty: But, with that being said, I know the FD rooms go quickly so I would like to have a Plan B in case I do need to switch.
Keeping my fingers crossed...
Thanks!

When staying on a high floor in the tower, can you hear the monorail run and is it loud?

We were in the seventh floor, which is only two above the monorail, and it was more like an occasional distant hum. Nothing to worry about at all.

Chef Mickey's drove us crazy.

I am so jealous of SRUAlmn's pin code and discount on a 2bed villa at BLT! Lucky!

I realized that even though I've checked in and posted here before, I never asked to be added to the log-o-rail. We have 2 2-bed villas lake view at BLT May 19-25! Thanks!

MY TA suggested requesting high floor and close to transportation--any idea what that might provide for room views with a lake view at BLT?

We were on 12th floor, same side as Chef Mickey's. We couldn't hear the monorial or noise from CM. We would have had to have been standing at the room door to hear CM noise.

My mom and I are trying out the Contemporary for the very first time November 1st-8th. We are booked in a Garden Wing room with a Garden View. We've put in a request for ground floor with patio and water view. As this is not my first time at the rodeo, I know to take my requests with a grain of salt. I am having a hard time finding pictures of Garden Wing room views, however, and was wondering if anyone had any they'd like to share? I've seen just a couple reviews with pics and both times they were rooms I'd LOVE to get!! I've looked on the picture board, I've even posted the request on the picture board, scoured you tube, and the internet in general.

I'd like to be prepared for the good, the bad, and the ugly! We've never been interested in staying at CR before (just looks like a boring hotel on a big slab of cement to us... even the room decor doesn't do much for us!) but the idea of being walking distance to MK was a huge draw and the Poly construction ended up making the decision for us.

Also, I remember seeing somewhere on here the options available when you do Online Check In and now I can't find it. Does anyone have the link? Thanks!

Hi!
Just a little information about myself, I have been following this thread and the previous one for almost a year getting little tidbits of information and tips for a relaxing stay.

We booked back in August for a Tower/Park View/King as it being just my Husband and I there was no reason for 2 Queen Beds.

When we arrived we were greeted at the front door with express CheckIn - Which worked flawless and we were in our room within 10 Minuets.

Sadly our room was 2 Queen beds - which to me is a waste as I am sure there are people who would have liked/utilized the 2 queen beds. Not a huge deal breaker just a little annoyance.

We booked the Deluxe Dinning plan which worked to our advantage as we dinned mostly at speciality restaurants that required the 2 credits for dinner and we used the other credit for lunch (We don't eat breakfast)

Back to the Room. There was only two coat hangers in the closet so I requested some to be sent up - within the hour they were in the room.

Coffee Maker and Tea in the room but no Whitener/Sugar packets ?

Closely looking at the room you could see that it needed a far better cleaning. I found toe nail clippings all over the couch and around the day bed and 2nd bed. I shrugged it off knowing that it must be vacuumed the next day. I am on holidays I am not going to let it become my focal point.

Going in to the toilet closet you can see urine staines all over the tiles and behind the toilet - as if no one knows how to aim.

I used the Ice Bucket with the plastic bag. The next day no plastic bag.

Behind the sink on the black splash there were droplets of blood which looked like someone was suffering from a nose bleed and the splash back from the water would have caused this (Sadly I know this from my first hand experience at home)

Just little House Keeping Tips that could have made this trip a Exciting trip to a Magical Experience.

Did I complain to management - No. Should have I? Yes but I was on vacation and I didn't want to hear any song or dance so I just glazed over it.

Friends of ours were staying in the Club Level (Which we tried to get into but sadly were not able to find a room) Their room was stunning! So the next time we book at the Contemporary (Which we will) it will be club level not for the lounge but just the room itself

With regards to our vacation we had a BLAST. My husband I celebrated our first anniversary and it was Magical in every way!

I want to thank this forum for their information and expertise and to all going soon you will have a blast.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me, I'll be happy to answer them!

Aw! We feel so blessed to have it! Have you tried calling? We got a card in the mail so my mom called, but BLT was excluded. They put her on hold and then told her they were able to apply something. It doesn't hurt to try! We were just so grateful that there was something available! Enjoy your trip and take lots of pics so we have something to help us pass the time until July!

Has anyone been recently and can tell me what kind of desserts are offered at night?

Back from spring break and time to catch-up here!

I don't believe that cash reservations have any greater a chance of requests being met when booked way out. The Room Assignor usually assigns rooms a few days prior to arrival and your reservation is dropped into the resort at about the 5-day mark. I don't know how far out actual room assignments booked using points work. If you book a LV, request an "outer south villa near the monorail."

I'd be happy to add you and there are actually 3 shops at CR:)

I'll add your dates. I wouldn't really bother with "close to transportation." The bus stop is in between BLT and CR and the monorail is inside CR. The boats are behind CR and BLT, so I'm not sure how a Room Assignor would handle that request. There are both inner and outer LV rooms. We prefer outer villas because those don't face other rooms and they face out toward Bay Lake and/or CR-marina-monorail. The inner rooms face toward other BLT rooms, the BLT courtyard and pool area with Bay Lake beyond. It's a less peaceful setting, IMHO.

Welcome to the thread! You don't need to request a patio as all ground floor GW rooms have one. If you request a "water view," your view could be of the canal, Bay Lake or the CR pool area, so keep that in mind. I have photos on the first page of a ground floor GW room facing Bay Lake and a 3rd floor GW room facing the canal. I also have some "CR Links of Interest" in Post 1 that may have photos you're looking for.

OCI options are very limiting and may not even apply to your particular booking category. They are usually options like "close to elevator" and floor options. Always call the WDTC to add your requests directly to your reservation.

:welcome: to the DIS and the CR/BLT thread. Thank you for posting about your stay:)

Usually, the sugar and creamer are in a black plastic bag with the stirrer/napkin placed in between the tea packets.

There are very few king beds at Disney Deluxe Resorts and most are Handicap Accessible rooms. The only way to guarantee a king at CR would be to book a Deluxe Garden Wing room.

Even though you didn't complain during your vacation, you should still relay your observations to Guest Communications so that they are aware of your room condition.

Do you think you will try to book a CL stay next time?

Has anyone been recently and can tell me what kind of desserts are offered at night?

While this is a VIDEO OF THE TOWER CLUB LOUNGE, it shows the desserts which would be the same in the Atirum Club lounge.

Here is a recent photo from the Atrium Club:

Hi!
Thanks for the info about the King Beds, The more I think about it the more it makes sense that they would have many 2 Queen Beds.

The next time we book (Which will be at the Contemporary in Jan 2015) we will be booking Club Level, as our friends were staying there and the room was beautiful

We will be staying the Contemporary because of it being close to the Magic Kingdom along with being on the Monorail.

Next time if the room is not to our standards I will be communicating this with Guest Relations.

Thank You for the tips about the Cream & Sugars next time I will look more diligent.

Thanks everyone for your responses to my questions. We decided to book a quick weekend getaway May 31 - June 2 and are going to try the Atrium Club for the first time.

This is the only deluxe I have not stayed at and am really looking forward to checking it off my list.

Congratulations on booking and marking CR off your list. I'll add your dates to the Log-orail.

We want to stay in the Garden Wing, on the ground floor with a water view. I think I'd prefer lake to canal view,or pool/lakeviews if some rooms overlook both. Does anyone know specific rooms to ask for?

It's best to word your request just like you have it here. It helps the room assigner when they know what you are looking for.
