Two weeks until our BLT stay woo hoo !:cool1:hoping to miraculously lose 5 more lbs so I can "drink around the world" at wine and food festival !:rotfl2:

Any updates on the monorail, it it back to before upgrade hours ?

Considering taking my mom to BLT for her 65th birthday. We'd get a Deluxe Studio, which means one of us would be in the pull-out couch (me). Would that take away from the magic? Seems funny to pay that much more than we normally do, and not even have two proper beds.

I don't think it would take away from the magic as it would just be a matter of preference. For us, a studio wouldn't work because we like having 2 beds rather than a pull out, but a lot of people sleep on the pull outs with no problem ;).

Hi KOOK

We will be coming in three weeks! :cool1:

J and R's Mom: 10/26 through 10/30, BLT

Also, do you know how I can get a copy of the October BLT Activity Calendar? Or is it the same as the CR Activity Calendar?

Thank you for this AWESOME thread!

I stayed at AKL in both the regular rooms with 2 queen beds and at Kidani village in a deluxe studio and I must admit, I much rather have the 2 beds. Would you not want to share the bed with your mom? That's probably what I'd do. But if you're not comfortable with that, then it's up to you. I like to be comfortable while on vacation, including a comfy bed. My husband could care less as long as he has a place to sleep. It really depends on you. :)

Yrs, monorail operating hours have been extended. New schedule is in OP :)

We are staying at CR and was emailed a copy of the activities calendar about 10 days prior to your stay. You should be getting your soon! :)

What a great birthday present! For you and your mom, I'd recommend a stay at CR instead so that you each get your own queen bed, you'll have more square footage and she might find it more convenient being in the Tower. Do you have to have the kitchenette?

The newly revised extended hours are posted in POST 2 HERE. Can't you lose the 5# after you arrive by walking around the world repeatedly?

How is your planning going? Have you booked anything yet?

I'll add your dates to the Log-orail. The CR/BLT Activity Calendar hyperlink is located in POST 2 HERE.

The guest elevators were not working. That was totally unacceptable for a deluxe resort.

You either had to take the stairs or use the service elevator (which I did to get my wheeled luggage to my room on check in and back down for check out).

There was often a long line of people with strollers and scooters to use the service elevators so I sucked it up and used the stairs most of the time but that got really old fast since I was on the 3rd floor.

We had the same issue several years ago at the CR. Elevators stopped working. The Manager told us to use the stairs on the outside of the building and after climbing 6 stories we found locked doors.. this was after a full day of MK and 3 tired kids. It wasn't fun. After I tore the manager a new hole I became the new manager of the situation and allowed my family to take whatever means necessary to reach our room. We didn't let it ruin the trip even though it was a big bummer as it was down for most of the vacation.. we did end up with a comp'ed night at any deluxe during our next stay which ended up being over the Holidays so WDW did come through on this issue :)

Hey KOOK :)

Nothing booked yet for our family trip, but I did book Poly CL for a girls trip for August under that "magical" TA Labor Day deal that is offered every year. Still working on the family trip. There may be as many as 15 of us going, so that will take a little more planning .

Any trips booked or in the planning stages for you and your family?

As of 9/27/14 the schedule was revised again:
Epcot - 8:00am-11:00pm or 1 hour after the Magic Kingdom closes (whichever time is earlier)
Resort monorail - 7:00am-1 hour after the Magic Kingdom closes
Express monorail - 8:30am-1 hour after the Magic Kingdom closes

27 days until we arrive at BLT! :cool1:

Thanks for this info about the monorail. Question - I am looking at doing Epcot evening EMH until 11 on November 5, and MK closes at 9 that day. The Epcot monorail will stop running at 10pm while Epcot is still open? I guess there will be buses after the monorail stops running? Thanks!

I've been following this thread for a bit as we've booked a TPV room for early December. (We had originally booked a room at Poly CL but were really not thrilled with the amount of construction at the Poly so we switched to CR. We would have loved a TPV CL room at CR but haven't found one to date (although I check several times a day).) We really appreciate all the info in this thread and can't wait to arrive.

Thanks to all for the great questions and answers. Thanks also for all the wonderful pictures as it really helps for those of us who haven't stayed at CR yet.

LMAO...tried that philosophy during the PHM 2013 and it didn't work:rotfl:staying focused on my yogurt and soup diet until my BLT arrival:). Glad to see the momorail has expanded hours thanks for the post !:cool1:

We had breakfast at Kona during our stay. From what I saw, I think you made a good move--the Poly was a mess and the lobby wasn't nice at all. It may all be done by Dec, but it doesn't look like it.

I asked this question on the transportation board but got no responses and I thought someone on here might could answer my question. Will the security guard allow us to park at CR to view Wishes from the 4th floor observation deck? Thanks in advance for your input.

I believe it depends on the guard but people have reported no parking there unless you're a guest staying at the Contemporary or BLT, or you have a dining reservation there which would only allow you to park there for up to 3 hours. You can always ask, but if you can't you can just park at the TTC and take the monorail there. Or you can pay the valet fee.

So the Disney visa discounts were released this morning and general public is Thursday. Does anyone know if the CR is included for room only discounts??

I have already booked but if there is a discount I would like it so should I just call to modify or book again online so I don't lose it???

I haven't seen this specific offer yet, so can't say for sure, but usually the CR is included in RO offers. The issue is availability. I would check online to see if there are any available rooms in your room category, and if so, call to modify your existing reservation.

Just got my email for this offer...CR is not excluded, but BLT is. Dates are 1/5 - 3/28.
