so we decided to keep our garden wing room vs doing a studio as it's bigger…now I just realized that they don't have balconies on the 2nd and 3rd floors…how do I secure a ground floor room???

Checking in tomorrow. Southwest boarding passes are printed and ready for our 615 am flight out of BWI. It's an early one, but it does get us to Disney in the morning. See ya soon CR!:cool1:

Ooh having a little princess to share in the magic will be fun for allprincess:

I can't wait as we have 2 boys who are 19 & 21 and their first Disney trip was when they were 6 & 8, so it will be great to see Disney through a little girl's eyes :cutie:. And since her aunt has done a good job of making sure she knows about all things Disney at a young age, she is more than ready to go .

Unfortunately, getting a ground floor room isn't guaranteed. Make sure your request for ground floor is noted on your reservation. With that said, sometimes requests get overlooked, so when you check in, if you are not given a ground floor room, you can always ask if one is available as Disney is usually very accommodating and will change your room should what you want be available. Keep in mind, though, that as much as they try, sometimes it's just not possible to meet a guest's requests. Good luck :wizard:.

Safe travels. Have a great trip :dance3:.

One last question :)

are the rooms in the garden wing and the tower the same size?? should I be switching to a regular room in the tower to be more convenient walking to MK??

how do I put that request on my reservation???

Call CRO and have them put a notation.

Then when do online checkin, check the boxes for GROUND FLOOR and PATIO.

I just looked at my screenshot of our online checkin from winter. Not sure why both of those choices are offered since the are the same:confused3

Thank you..you have been very helpful with my other posts too!!!

I am debating switching to a tower room?!? what is the advantage?? I am just wondering if the longer walk to MK from the garden wing will lose what we wanted from the CR?!?

are the rooms the same size?? is it worth upgrading to a tower room??

Just got back from a 7 night stay that just ended on the 4th. Absolutely loved the CR and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Had a tower room on the 8th floor (room 4437), and the view of the fireworks each night was great. But the best part for us was just the convenience to walk to the Magic Kingdom each day whenever we liked. Just can't beat the convenience of that.

Had a car down in Disney for the first time ever and I must say, I think I'm a convert to that. It made getting to and from AK and DHS very easy, espeically on a night when we were in the DHS all day, came back to do dinner and the Hoop Dee Doo, and then drove back to DHS for a fastpass on the Aerosmith coaster.

My only complaint about the place was the small seating area in the Contempo Cafe - I had to circle the place a few times looking for a table for my family of 5 - and the maid service ran late into the afternoon. We spent one day in a park from opening to about 4PM, came back to the hotel, and the maid was only just getting to our room. We had to camp outside of the room and read books until she was finished. Seemed very late in the day to be getting to it.

But, as I said, absolutely fantastic time and based mostly on the convenience of the location of the CR - will certainly be back.

Yes, tower and GW rooms are the same size ;).

Upgrading to a tower room from the GW is a personal preference as some people like being right in the action of the tower and some like the quietness of the GW. We've never stayed at the CR so I can't comment from experience, but from reports/posts I have read in the past, it doesn't seem like the GW is any less convenient than the tower, other than having to walk to the tower for the monorail and Contempo Cafe.

Glad you had a great stay and would go back. Sorry about housekeeping being late and Contempo Cafe being crowded and hard to find a seat, but glad everything else was great :wizard:.

Nice! We'll join you tomorrow.:cool1:

I love all the updates and the pictures. Thanks for keeping me a little bit sane. Our trip is slowly getting closer. I just can't wait for our first BLT stay :goodvibes Keep all the pictures and reports coming :thumbsup2

Just curious...does anyone remember if the CR bus to AK also stops at Blizzard Beach? If so, which location does it stop at first? I just can't seem to remember!

We booked last August for this July. I have a whole thread of the process (I'll link it once I can find it.) Rooms tended to show up at the 11 month mark from your check out date. This was just my experience for the summer months, but hopefully it'll help! You will LOVE BLT!!!

This was also our experience when we booked a 1 bedroom for October 2014 and when we rebooked for December 2014.

It stops at the water park first, then AK.

If you booked a king Tower Club room, you are guaranteed a king bed as well as a MK view. Also, if you booked tower club (14th floor), you have access to both lounges, however, 12th floor Atrium club guests only have access to the Atrium club lounge. Here is a link from the first page of this thread that describes the difference between the two CL floors/rooms:

HTH :)
Thanks I know what I booked but was hard to get it crossed to the IPO planners who insisted it was a request only. Called & still got same round around even had Disney Travel called. Still only request.

Finally I call back to travel Company (Disney) & explained again he said I getting the manager at the CR and tell them this. The woman I talked to said it is plain as the nose on your face that you paid & getting a 14th floor club level room with a king size bed. She said also it would be MK view as the Bay Lake view room were 2 queen beds. She asked if I a request for a room number which I told her & the reason why I would not take the other room. She said that was acceptable & she would see to it that I would get that room unless their were people in it that came in before we did. But if that was the problem she would assign me to a room on 12th floor and with a theme park view or not I could get a Bay lake view ( I am not against this since it is only one night.)

So now it is a waiting game. Travel company said I could use both lounges but you can't as according to her & IPO. Wasn't planning to anyhow. She said she thought te 14th floor lounge was less busy. Now the email I been getting from the planners have been very nice & said they are working on some magic so I get my room. I am still looking each day & calling every other day to see if anyone cancel. She said it is possible but maybe closer to the 45 days or up to 5 days.. I think they like to keep us on our toes lol
Maybe have cancel due to our Air Heat sytem died today & $$$$$$ to replace it. Just shoot myself :rotfl::rotfl:
But come high water I going in Sept I need a vacation with husband out of country. Happen every time he goes overseas something break and guess who get to stay from work & get it fixed >>ME :rotfl::rotfl::beach:pixiedust: WHY WHY ? lol
