We did a split stay at the Poly and BLT earlier this month. We had a studio at the Poly and a 1BR at BLT. The Poly has always been my favorite but BLT gave it a run for the money. The room was so nice. We had a Lake View overlooking the pool on the 10th floor. The view by the elevator was a direct shot of the MK. Both resorts were great. I was a little disappointed in Contempo Cafe. I liked Captain Cook’s much better.I'll be in a Studio at BLT in January now. I was going to be in a Poly Studio, but my TA is awesome and knows that the Poly has been a dream of mine since I was a kid so SHE wants it to be as close to perfect too - so I knew if she was emailing that whatever they're doing to the GCH would be bigger than the initial release (prior to them saying "no monorail service" seemed to indicate. We talked over my options and BLT won.
Now to reset my mind and do BLT/Contemporary research.

BLT is a DVC resort. DVC news is usually posted on the DVC boards. So, no, not buried on the DVC thread. That's where is should be. At the top of each DVC Board, there is a sticky thread called the DVC Resource thread. It has almost everything you want to know about DVC resorts.https://www.disboards.com/threads/b...nks-last-update-of-post-1-10-21-2015.2257082/This is a great resource but was buried on the DVC thread.
You can get refills at the BLT pool or at the Contempo Cafe.Is there anywhere at BLT to refill mugs or do you have to walk over to the Contemporary?
Longer walks for food and transportation. Garden wing rooms do not have a balcony on the upper floors. Ground floor has a patio, but no divider between the patio of the room next to you. The covered walkway to the garden wing is open on the sides, so you may still get wet walking between the tower and the wing if the weather is bad.CR experts, I would appreciate your opinions, please. The discounts released today are amazing news for our trip! But also have given me a little predicament. I have to choose between these two rooms: Garden Wing, Garden View: $412.65 or Tower, Lake View $546.53. Is it worth $134 to stay in the tower right now?
A couple of things that I am considering in favor of the garden wing: 1)a garden room might be closer to the pool, where I expect my teens to spend a fair amount of time given the park hours 2)elevator issues would be less applicable 3) the price difference could pay for a dinner out.
What should I be considering for the tower rooms?

I think that may be what we do! Choose Garden and hope for an opportunity to upgradeMy daughter booked Garden Wing, Garden View for a trip this weekend and was offered an upgrade to Tower for $55/night. She was upgraded to TPV!
$134 more per night would not be worth it to me, but I've stayed at the CR several times over the years. If it's your first trip there and it's in the budget, I'd say go for it. If you're going soon, you might consider taking the gamble and booking Garden Wing and hoping for an upgrade, whether complimentary or paid.
