Welcome back and thank you for posting your mini TR and room photos:). Where do you think you might stay on your next trip?

You'll have to go back;)

I've always wanted to stay at the Poly, and POFQ looks nice, but oddly enough, we loved Fort Wilderness when we went to Trail's End and the Chip and Dale campfire. It seemed so much more "us". Plus the campsites were all decorated for Halloween. Hubby loved it! But I don't know. That easy walk to MK has spoiled me!

Officially have lost my mind! Our two girls are in college now, their Spring Break is March 12-20. Older one plans on cruising with her friends but younger one has no plans. I asked her what she wanted to do (she's planning on doing Maymester in NYC) and she said that since NYC was coming up she was fine staying home.I told her that was silly. She looked at me and said "let's you and I go back to Disney"! We've only been home from the Polynesian, F&W & MNSSHP for a month now! I've booked and changed reservations several times in the past week but today I bit the bullet and ordered two Platinum APs and had my TA book CR with a pass holder rate. Starting out with a wing room because even that is almost $450 a night with tax. It's been ten years since we've stayed in the wing, (it was our home away from home when the girls were little and rates were cheap). TA is watching for a standard Polynesian room just for the convenience but she and I are both happy to be heading back to the CR again!

Is there anywhere at the contemporary to fill up the refillable mugs besides contempo cafe?

We check in next Saturday. Should I do the online check in to add "upper floor" and "close to transportation" to our reservation? We are staying garden wing, garden view and would really like to be closer to the main building. Will I have better luck if I call and get them to add a note to our reservation? We are from Canada, so will have to go to the front desk anyway to check in and get our magic bands. Hoping for a bit of pixie dust, will online check in or making requests, lessen the chance of that? Thanks! :-)

You sure took a lot of videos - what fun! In the video in the boat from MK to WL, you stated that the monorail was down so you had to take the boat to WL and then the boat to CR. Did you not want to just walk to CR? It would have been MUCH faster. I'll have to post a link in POST 1 to your channel - thank you!

Thanks WDWKOOK!

Yes plenty of video, you can never have enough Monorail video!! I love to watch it over again, such a great place, as for the day in question, it was raining really badly and we had no umbrella or mickey macs! So we passed on walking back to the resort.

There are some more vids to post on You Tube, as for going back... Well I really want to go to Japan, but I hear the Contemporary calling!!!

Thanks for posting my links in Post one, I am glad that people may find them of use. That's so kind of you to do so, thank you

Hi, getting very excited for our stay at BLT next week!! We are in a 1 bedroom. Can anyone tell me about the chair sleeper? Specifically, would it be good for a toddler? DD2 still is in a crib at home, but is too big for a travel crib or pack n play. Thanks!!

My 5 year old will probably sleep in the chair sleeper, but thanks for asking because I could see issues with my 9 yr old and 12 yr old sharing the queen and we may need to reorganize. It's good to know my 12 yr old could sleep in it.

When are you arriving? We get there on Wed (Nov 11)!

KOOK, can you change my dates on the Logorail please? We were originally booked for May, but now we'll be at CR Tower Club 1/11-1/17 instead! :)

Thank you!:daisy:

WDWKOOK, can you add my family's dates to the logorail? We are excited for our first trip to the Contemporary Tower 4/23/16 - 4/29/16! :)

I know the Bay Lake Tower Pool has a beverage station, the contemporary pool should be similar.
The regular pool doesn't have a refill station. They used to refill for you behind the counter, but with the chipped mugs, that may have stopped?

Did you see the newly rehabbed cabins? They look fantastic! AllEars has a great video of the newly rehabbed cabins HERE.

Congratulations on making it official:laughing:. Sounds like you're going to have a great mother-daughter trip.

IMHO, CR is more convenient than Poly. Poly is great for walking to the TTC, but when we last stayed in August, the monorail was unreliable and very crowded and made me long for that magical CR walkway. Hope you can apply a greater discount, maybe AP?

OCI won't have any impact at all on any Disney magic. The Room Assignor sees all your requests, both OCI and called-in. The Room Assignor assigns your room about 3-5 days prior to arrival. None of the GW rooms have balconies and the 3rd floor is the highest. The ground floor rooms do have patios. What you can do is ask at check-in if your requests were fulfilled. Even if your room isn't ready, they can tell you location details because they know the room number. If the room isn't to your liking, you can always inquire about one that might be available that you prefer.

The furthest GW room from the Tower is only maybe a couple of minutes extra walking so I wouldn't be too concerned. "Close to transportation" is added to some OCI options because it's a common request, but it really doesn't make too much difference at CR.

Thanks WDWKOOK!

My pleasure:)

I'll take care of it:)

Welcome and congratulations! I'd be happy to add your dates.

You're right, they stopped. Pre-Rapid Refill, some CMs would pour a refill in a cup. Since now they would need your mug to determine eligibility and that's unsanitary for the CM to take your mug and refill it, you can't get refills there anymore. They really need a mug refill station at all feature pools.

Thanks WDWKOOK! Much appreciated! :-)

So EWP can be viewed from the CR beach? Is that right?

So at the last minute, my in laws have decided to join us on our Disney trip. We are in a 1 BR standard view at BLT. They have a Studio with a Lake View. It doesn't look like there is anywhere that those two rooms could be next to each other, unless they are downgraded to standard view.

Is that something that they can do when we check in? And do all of the one bedrooms and studios connect?

TIA!

Does anyone know more about the Bay Cove pool closure? It looks like it closes the day I get there! wah!!! We're staying BLT February 1-9. We're bringing a couple of younger cousins for a 'once in a lifetime' trip. We purposefully picked this resort because we anticipated construction at WL. I know it doesn't ruin my whole vacation but since I only just found this out. I'm kinda bummed out for now. :(

I guess the best we can hope for is a late start to construction? Anyone have any experience with this?:hyper2: Did other deluxe resort pool refurbs start on time? :sail:

Kind words and constructive thoughts only, please. :dogdance:

I've just booked CR for 9/10-9/18. :cloud9: Really hoping for some discounts though!

Congrats on booking the CR! I agree with KOOK, don't give up on a discount yet. Since your trip is still a ways off and September is somewhat of a slower time than others, I think your chances of a discount are pretty good :).

Don't give up on applying a discount, your trip is a ways off so the odds are in your favor.

I agree ::yes::.

KOOK gave a great response to your question, but I wanted to say I hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

It's funny how WDW does that :rolleyes1:laughing:.

We get there on Wed (Nov 11)!

Hope you're having a great time! :goodvibes

We are excited for our first trip to the Contemporary Tower 4/23/16 - 4/29/16! :)

Congrats! Happy planning :wizard:.

I can't answer about the Bay Cove pool closure, but there is always a chance of delay in construction. I can't remember if the Poly main pool started on time, but the quiet pool (which is currently under construction) was delayed about a month or two.

When we were booked at VWL two years ago, the main feature pool at WL was closed. We were offered a move. Other Dis'ers reported offers of discounted rates. As with any construction, every guest is "handled" a little differently. Keep in mind, BLT guests are always allowed access the the pools at Contemporary so, the manner in which Guest Services responds may be very different for The BLT pool.

Does the Contemporary club level do anything special for NYE? I know the Polynesian had champagne (which I missed because I was on the beach and they promptly closed the club level immediately after midnight after I figured out where everyone was getting their champagne from o_O )
