Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Ok, just actually read the parks blog post and watched the videos (ok, I lied, that 15 minute one is TOO LONG to keep my attention). Granted a better topic for other parts of the DIS, but my goodness.
I am really not happy about the new paid FP process. Don't want to wake up at 7am to be grabbing stuff and don't want to be obligated for paid reservations. In the past if you didn't want your FP you could cancel or miss nbd. Now you are actually wasting your money if you have any change of plans. Plus the extra costs are getting beyond ridiculous.

We've been a lot so I don't think we will do the lightening lane. We've gone twice for NYE knowing we wouldn't do much and that is ok. But looking to the future, there are other places we want to go that are probably a lot cheaper than a Disney trip, which will probably still require lots of planning and stress at an ever higher cost.

Oh man, I hate that you all are going through this. It sounds very stressful and I didn't catch the whole "his mother is in Europe" thing the first time I read it. Wishing you all lots of prayers and safe travels all around.
Thank you. Yep, Europe, it brings a whole new level of stress and difficulty to it. He would have been gone the same day/next morning had it been domestic. He is also flying back to NY, sleeping at an airport hotel (JFK) then flying to MCO the next morning. (Hopefully but who knows). Flights to MCO or Tampa from there are like 30 hours and multiple stops due to covid flight changes. At least this way he can sleep a bit. He leaves tonight.

I'm trying to rearrange all our plans and ADRs now because it was based on 4 of us. It was different when I took the kids alone last time because I planned it that way. I can't go to OHana or Yachtsman without him. We do need to eat the night he arrives but that's it. I also wouldn't of booked YC. I hate that pool, do chaotic.. I would have done WL or something where I would enjoy having a beverage alone, and some quiet time. I like nature. Of course Disney is just Disney, my husband is the one who has the horrible week ahead.

Yeah, at least you are at disney and staying in the same time zone. If Yachtman's is out, there's still Crew's Cup lounge. Maybe you can snag a last minute cancellation for something like a B&C on your arrival day. We found a pretty nice spot at SAB that was relatively quite this past May. It's a bit hard to get to initally, I wish I had a map but I'll try to explain it the best I can. Basically there's a little sand area next to where the jib slide dumps out. To get here initally you have to cross a bridge and then walk where the CMs are doing their pool activites, there's a back gate here too that let's you out just around the corner from HH. Or if you trust your kids alone at SAB there's a nice quite pool at YC and the BC villas pool is a nice retreat as well. When it comes to Ohana, we ate at cpt cooks a couple of weeks ago and you can get wings there along with noodles (I added chicken) and we felt like it was a mini Ohana. Tambu lounge also does the bread pudding, we sat outside cpt cooks and had a decent view of the fireworks as well. Or maybe Kona would be a good replacement if Ohana is a no go. We noticed a TON of reservations come up in the 48-24 hour zone.

Thanks for the heads up on the quiet spot. My kids are big, they could go to the park alone, 14 and 17. It's ok, we will adjust. Appreciate the support.

I was going to say that if the Genie starts granting wishes for us CL might be a much better value and worth booking even if you don't plan on that many lounge visits.

I'm feeling 90% confident there will be some kind of concierge perk around genie+. Before the pandemic, concierge guests could pay for more fastpasses after all. But I suppose we'll have to wait and see how this plays out. I know I'm watching eagerly.

Someone on CR thread has been told their CL TPV room will not be ready for the 50th.

Hmm We have more time (mid Nov), but I wonder what they were switched to. Also hoping to hear something on the Brunch coming back now that buffets seem to be returning.

In an unusual move I’m going to be a total cynic on this one - that Genie ain’t giving us squat, without a cost. :rotfl:

I’m just glad I’m not a CL desk CM that will be handling constant requests for help, at least at first.
That's not cynical, that's practical based on past experience. The last system was not given out for free to CL guests, I would not expect G+ to be either.

New to club level but planning it for my next vacation. Does anyone suspect the one bedroom suite at the poly will have a club level option?

It should be once CL returns to Poly, whenever that may be (which I assume will be sooner rather than later, but TBD of course).

The suites were CL before all of this COVID mess, so should be once CL reopens as well, IMO.

If you don’t know, the Poly suites are in the Tonga Longhouse, which has it’s own CL CM desk and small mini lounge. You also have access to the main CL lounge in the Hawaii longhouse. And Tonga guests have historically been able to order from a complimentary room service menu as well (although that’s not available at the moment).

Hope that helps!

Thank you that does help! I'm not going until September of next year so fingers crossed for availability by then! Until then I think I will reserve wilderness lodge and hope for that suite at poly!

I am trying to ignore all the news - I am there beginning Saturday and not leaving until Sept 4th so am hoping they don't ROLL :rotfl: this thing out in the middle of my trip...

And, like you, @GADisneyDad14 , I am feeling pretty cynical about this....

I really don’t think there will be a CL perk to Genie. There was never any in-park CL perks before. Disney tested the pay to play FP on CL but I believe that was because the test audience was a manageable size.
