Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Full caveat my experiences at CG greatly outnumber Narcoossee’s (which has only been one time). While I enjoyed my Narcoossee’s meal, I would pick CG every time. For me, it’s my favorite restaurant/experience combination at WDW.

Doesn’t matter if it’s date night or a meal with my kids - there’s something for everyone and it never disappoints.

Of course, YMMV!

I booked an 8:00 narcooses and Cali grill. Different days but only keeping 1. Which do you prefer and why? My kids love steak and yachtsman but there isn't a reopening date set yet. Thoughts on my 2 choices please.
That is a tough one now. We had a terrible dinner at Narcoossee's in Feb. Our server was terrible and the food was not much better. It has always been one of our favorites but I am certain it will be a long time before we return there now. We did complain and Disney refunded out money but the night was shot and we were embarrassed that we had taken newbies there for a great meal.

Cali Grill is normally good but our new favorite is Topolinos. We had 2 great meals there.

Price aside, California Grill for me. I only went to Narcoosses once, but the seared tuna was sitting in a large puddle of soy sauce and pretty much ruined it (I love soy sauce & am very easy to please when it comes to tuna - but it was pretty crazy). Maybe it was an off night.

Ironically, my first meal at CG was my worst (more service related) - but it’s been awesome ever since. From what I remember, I liked Citricos over Narcoosses. Maybe I need to try it again 🤔

Cali grill handsdown, we ate there in Jan. and it was better than ever. 1000 times better view. The view from narcoossees is okay but what drives me crazy is people will crowd on the deck just as fireworks start and stand RIGHT in front of the windows and completely block the view from the tables. A lot of these people aren't eating at the restaurant they just appear out of no where.

I didn't expect the people to appear out of nowhere, it was really disappointing!

I'm staying at the YC. I wanted MK area but my family out voted me lol. I will most likely be taking an uber to both. Can I see fireworks from either place at 9. Or did I make my adr too late?
I don’t even know what time things will be. Sheesh I see summer still closing on the early side.

At least with both you can walk from MK if that’s a park you’ll be at that night.

Anyone going via United Airlines 50th weekend, United just adjusted their schedule. Two of my flights were cancelled and rebooked so check your itinerary and make sure you have the flights you want. I had to call to change to the flights I wanted because I'm using points and the points needed have gone way up. Waited on hold for 1 hour late last night.

*It was good news for me because I booked flights because they were the cheapest points value at the time. Then they let me change (1x for free) to my preferred flight. If you try to do it yourself it rebanks your points and charges the new points value. First thing the rep said to me was, 'did you change anything yet?'

In general, the amount of schedule changes by the major airlines over the past couple of months has been pretty crazy. Seems likely to continue through 2021 until travel stabilizes.

You can still get some good deals if you book early.

Walk, hahahahahahaha. That's funny. I have a lazy clan and we took the monorail loop both ways when we stayed CR. 🤣🤣

Airline changes have been out of control. I booked my August orlando and July aruba flights on jetblue right around when they were released. Aruba has changed about 4 times and orlando a lot too. I also paid with points. I was able to add a day to my orlando trip because of the changes. It was perfect because we decided to do a few days at Universal. I had no change fees or increases because they moved my flight 5 hours. The only negative was the 2 hour wait on hold.

I guess we’re a lazy clan too😂! We’ll walk to Narcoossee’s if we’re staying at GF, but that’s enough walking with all the walking in the parks lol! Your Aruba flights have changed 4 times?! Our flight back from Hawaii in a few weeks got really messed up because they canceled the early flight back to LAX and now we have to take the red eye (Delta)! We booked those flights a long time ago and got a great points deal so I guess we’re just staying an extra night in LA. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll add the flight back. Thanks for the heads up on all the changes. Delta’s hold time is ridiculous, but it may be worth looking into. Our flights for the 50th are on two different airlines so that’s even more room for flight schedule changes!

AMEN! I keep seeing people say "Airlines are adding flights!" but not from what I'm finding. My United flight to Disney in July has been fairly stable - only one change on each flight that were not major - but I'm flying American to Nashville in August to visit my parents. I'm in NYC, so I can do JFK (preferred), EWR (less perferred), or LGA (last resort at the moment...MAYBE when their construction and AirTrain gets done it'll move up).

The August flight changed once - to Nashville went from a 6am-something non-stop to a 12:55pm nonstop, then the earliest; flight back changed to a later departure but a connection through Charlotte. Then this week I happened to check it (I usually check once a week but had forgotten to for a few weeks) and the 12:55pm flight had changed to a 4:55pm flight! Which had become the earliest non-stop!! That took a whole day away with my parents, which was NOT cool. I called and while I was on hold for 2 hours looked at my options so I could make it easier on the agent. Finally got it changed to a super-early flight out of EWR (5am!!) connecting through CLT to get there. The return flight thus far has stayed the same since its last change. Best part is they had yet to email me about it - and I know it had been changed a while because usually when it's in process it will give me a "Flights have changed, check back later for changes" but this time it was already done.

So yeah...DEFINITELY check your flights regularly!! I'll even be checking my return flights while I'm on my Disney and family trips to make sure they don't change mid-trip!

Fortunately it's only the times that have changed, not the days. I just booked my car service to/from the airport and she said the flight changes are killing her this year.

I'm in NY too but I prefer Newark to JFK. Newark is 30 minutes tops and Kennedy could be 40 or 3 hours 😆🤣 you just never know. Jetblue has added flights since I booked. When I booked it was still slim pickings.

I'm technically in Brooklyn, but that's part of NYC. I don't drive, so JFK is an easy subway to AirTrain. Newark is a subway ride to a train to AirTrain - so longer. LGA is just a disaster regardless.

I'm on the other side of the Verrazano bridge. We drive everywhere here lol. We have terrible mass transit. I'm originally from Bensonhurst but moved when I was a kid. My 14 year old takes golf lessons at Dyker through the parks department.

Yeah, so you're closer to EWR automatically.

I've lived in Bed-Stuy since moving here in 2006. Sold my car before moving up here (Teaching Fellows...so we were expected to survive on a $1500 stipend FOR THE SUMMER - my car, my furniture, and a little help from my dad is how I survived!) and never looked back. I love my G-train!! And I walk pretty much anywhere within like a 2 mile radius - which is why distances at WDW resorts seem like child's play to me. LOL.
