Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Those of you who make your own CL, I am curious! I was thinking of trying it out on our trip, but we won't be in a DVC room so will be a little more limited. What would you all suggest? Beer is a given, I'm traveling with a Canadian. :)

So... our first trip back this summer was at BLT for a week, so full kitchen. We ordered basic breakfast supplies for the kids (milk/cereal), individual yogurts, bagels and cream cheese, general grab/go snacks, plenty of beer, and lots of bottled water.

A couple of months later we stayed at YC and I ordered just about the same thing. Since no kitchen I added plastic utensils and napkins. I also ordered individual cereals vs a box so you can eat out of the pre-packaged bowls. This seemed kinda wasteful to me, but is what it is.

Not going to lie, I underestimated the difference in our plan between the villa and a regular resort room. The villa of course makes things pretty idiot-proof for dining in the room, the resort room, not so much. Plus the resort fridge got small REAL quick. Not enough space to keep enough beers cold and at the ready. :goodvibes

The one thing I really missed when staying in a regular resort room versus a studio or villa was a microwave. We had leftovers that we couldn't heat up because Disney has removed the microwaves from the marketplace that guests were able to use pre-Covid. I usually prefer a resort room to a studio because there are two queen beds and a double sink in the resort room. But staying there during the restrictions, I actually wished I had a studio. :)

Are you still able to request a microwave? I've never done it before but was thinking about it.

I have always requested a microwave when staying in a regular resort room and was never denied. I’m not sure if they still do this post-COVID, but it doesn’t hurt to ask!!

Many of the villas are being refurbished to having a pull down sofa bed verses the fold out. These new type use normal mattresses. No more bar in the back or on the sides. Can't name all the resorts that have been changed off the top of my head but Saratoga Springs has been and Riviera Resort was built with the rooms set up this way.

Be sure to look up info before assuming on the other resorts.

Not nearly as bad as CR though, unfortunately.
OMG WOW... I stayed GF for 2 nights in Nov and the room was the most run down I’ve seen at a Disney property (I admittedly don’t have a vast experience list) and my whole fam decided basically it was “interesting” to do something else, 4/5 had stayed Poly before and missed the Poly (we were moved to GF after Poly was shut) but 5/5 wish we’d stayed at Gran Destino... 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have yet to stay CR. I was due to stay March 2020 but it got 2020’d.... obviously I will simply have to find a way to make that happen after this refurb! Maybe it was a blessing in disguise I didn’t stay there with the shape it’s in 😂

I’ve stayed at GF (RPC and Sugarloaf so none of the “regular” building rooms) in the last few years, summer 2019 was the last two stays. Never felt those were run down to me. I stayed at CR for most of my Christmas week trip this year, TPV, and it was horribly run down (you can go see my review on the CR thread). I told DH I wouldn’t stay there again until they do a refurb, and they must have the rooms bugged because they announced the refurb shortly after we got home 🤣. Very thankful we got to move to Riviera for the second half of that trip, I couldn’t stay there one more night. I won’t disagree GF is probably due for an upgrade though, but they’re definitely last in line, next one for me would be BWI. Stayed there this time last year and those rooms are way past due. Maybe they’re pulling a WL and doing it while it’s closed 🤔🤫
