Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Here’s a “what would you do” question.
Club level at which resort: GDT, AKL or YC? I had thought that we would book GDT because the price point on the standard CL room was so much lower, but it looks like the prices have shot up. Now, when I’m comparing fake dates, it looks like it’s only $100 cheaper per night than AKL and YC. We’ve stayed CL at AKL before and loved it. We’ve stayed at YC (not CL) before and liked the location. Thoughts? Another resort I should be considering?
For $100 I’d upgrade to deluxe.

Dd would want AKL for the pog/jungle juice, food options, She really liked it.

Dh would prefer YC classic look. He is not fond of wl/akl darkness.

I’d be fine either YC/AKL.

Can anyone recommend a room in the Sugarloaf (outer) building at GF, Club Level? Standard view. We would love a balcony.

It was not empty, but it wasn’t crowded either. One time we arrived for evening apps and had only one table to choose from. I sometimes wish they didn’t play a movie on that really nice TV screen which is front and center in the lounge, it promoted a few apparent squatters just judging from observation. Granted they have every right to be there that I do, but sometimes CL works best if you sort of cycle through folks, if that makes sense. Man, I hate how negative sounding I’m being about AKL, that’s not really my intent.

I do suspect with a smaller room count situation like the bookable King rooms that it is either routine or perhaps a simple overflow solution to use other floors on occasion. Although that’s just me speculating.

I don't think you're sounding too negative at all. Things happen and you're just being honest, which I'm sure we all appreciate. Just because it's Disney doesn't mean you don't have the right to be disappointed by something...it happens to the best of us. ;) And I completely agree with you about the TV! I think limiting it to the non-peak times would be a lot smarter on their part.

Having a king bed is worth paying more to me too, but not if it means I lose a sink.

I would prefer 2 queens and don't mind paying a little extra for a king if that's all that's available, but I also don't like the loss a sink :(.

There are two king rooms at WL that aren't handicap accessible. They are CL and used to be honeymoon suites.

Do you happen to know how many CL kings there are total? I just switched to WL CL and king was all that was available under the AP discount, so I took it (later finding out about king rooms being HA). Got a call from DSS yesterday and asked to have "no HA room" noted on my reservation. I know requests aren't guaranteed and if we do get a HA room it won't ruin our trip, but it would be nice not to get one :).

It may be that the deluxe rooms have big enough rooms that they don’t need a king bed to have the space for a wheelchair. This may be more in the value rooms. I think our king room at POR was an HA room too from what I can recall

They all have an outdoor space.

1st floor is an enclosed patio.

2nd floor fullview balcony except in the center where atrium is.

3rd floor the center rooms have the fullview balconies and the exterior rooms have the smaller dormer balcony.

All rooms 4th floor dormer style.

This is the side facing courtyard pool fyi. The tree that used to block the views has been removed :)

Right after that I switched my BWI cl room to the Grand in SL.

The heart wants what the heart wants lol.

One of my friends had to cancel at BWI so my dd who will be 25 this month asked to move to the Grand.

Still can’t believe my baby will be 25!

I’ll be there this weekend so watch for pix!

Ya'll, I have to say, I'm already impressed with WL CL. I mean, we've stayed there before last few times have been with an add on to a regular room. It's been quite a while since we were on the CL floor.
As has been discussed throughout the thread, they are one CL that personally emails out to incoming guests to check if anything is needed. This email is not from DSS but from the OFC staff. I got the email for our tomorrow arrival earlier this morning. In the email they ask about arrival time. I explained that we would be arriving tonight, late (after 10:00) and out early in the morning for EMM. Since we won't do services tonight I had booked a standard room tonight. We'd get breakfast tomorrow no matter where we stayed but we aren't going to utilize the CL since we'll be at EMM. The only thing I asked was we'd love to have a room ready early tomorrow morning so we could move our stuff right from tonight's room to the CL room. If they couldn't, we'll store our things but figured, I'd ask since they reached out. I know they are just starting to book the CL rooms, with last night being the first available to check in so I think the odds are good they aren't booked up tonight.
Well, they came back with an upgrade for tonight to CL so we don't have to move rooms AND they'll leave snacks and drinks in the room since we arrive after service hours. Including my husbands beloved Coke Zero :rolleyes2
That folks, is why we do Disney and why we love CL. Little things like that.
I think all the staff should email out guests like that. Most of them only have a few rooms and only a few arrivals on a given day. They have the staff to take care of things like this. It won't take much time for the staff to set a few items in our room.
I'm going to put a bug in Lene's ear next time we are at BWI as something she may look to implement or at least bring up to her bosses.
The BWI CL did this for us as well. We had to book our first night as a standard room at the BWI because I couldn't find a CL room for that night, and I checked every day. When we arrived at the hotel somehow they found a CL room for us that night and we didn't have to switch rooms either. We also weren't charged extra for the CL room.

I only know of the two CL king rooms that used to be honeymoon suites, and they are not HA. I think they added some king beds when they removed the bunk beds.

We have had at least three king rooms at the BC that were not HA and had one HA room at the BC that had two queens and a daybed. These were not CL, by the way.

Would you be able to tell us what the many options and abundant variety of breakfast is? Your high praise is wonderful. I would love to know what there is.
Thanks is advance.

This video shows many of the food that were offered to us at AKL Club when we went in Nov 2019. I loved being greeted with a mimosa and then having all these wonderful foods. I love Quinoa and Bobetie!

If you have a chance, could you post a picture of the marina side rooms too? Trying NOT to get an enclosed balcony or dormer room!

Room numbers on a building map will be posted later today. I do one for every resort I stay at.

I am not not finding a good picture now. If I don’t find one I’ll take one this weekend.
