Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Drenched is right, but beware that they've got you now! We got a similar upgrade at BWI several years ago and were spoiled such that now we "need" CL. I'll be at the YC CL in 2 weeks. Just enjoy it a lot. The food is excellent and we have been able to make meals of the evening selections in the past. My DH preferred the lounge food to our restaurant selections. The staff is very nice and helpful. Make sure to have an evening glass of wine or cordial. As I said, just enjoy it!
So true!

We stayed CL once back in 2003 at the GF and didn't think it was worth the added expense (maybe this was during the time period others have mentioned when the food offerings weren't as plentiful?). But on a trip with a BWI stay a couple of years ago we were upgraded to the CL garden cottages there, and now we "need" CL too. :rotfl2: Since that upgrade, we've stayed non-CL once because we got an incredible rate on a standard view room at BC, but despite that amazing deal we regretted that decision. If you're a light eater like we typically are, and if you stay at one of the hotels where the CL food offerings are extensive, it can actually be an incredible value and a time-saver in terms of meals.

Just an observation- while checking out the CL food offerings at CSR, I noticed that a few of them were on the menu of the new restaurant on the lake (the name escapes me). So a CL full of Spanish food & Tapas? YES PLEASE. I'd love to know if they're pouring cocktails at all, and what kind...

I also showed my 6 year old Tim Tracker's video tour of CSR and he LOVED it. Kid has good taste in hotels already.

Cautionary observation. I booked YC CL water view in June with the AP discount. This am I was able to modify to the YC CL garden view for the same dates BUT it was $180 MORE.

I have to dropped the first night from the water view and am worried I'll get the new rates...

Keep checking the website for a lower rate. When I first booked the BC CL with the AP discount for Oct, it was 25% discount. The next day I looked again and it was 15% discount. I checked again today and it was back to 25%.

that's true but did the AP offer - the one through Aug 28- change when the new discounts were added this week?

It could be the weekend rates. The last AP offer bounced between full discounted weekends and no discount at all on the weekends. Never just look at the average daily rate, always see what they are charging you per day.

No, the "glitchy" pricing phenomenon for the weekends we saw in late June/early July just started back up this morning. As @cakebaker advised, it drives the average total trip cost up. Keep an eye on it, it's highly likely to change soon.

We loved GCH too lol.
I had the old style octagon room, no sofa bed. The 2nd floor rooms all have the single sofa/ bed. ( I had old and new)

I saw pix that the sofa in the deluxe queens are a sofa bed (have friends that stay there) but haven’t for the deluxe king.

Try asking on grand thread, @baler31 may know.

Oh for quieter you may want 4207-09. 01 or 02 are over the kitchen and noisy.
@trishadono thanks so much for your response!

As fate would have it, DSS called me today, so I asked the question about the sofabed/daybed in the octagon rooms. The CM told me that none of the octagon rooms have a sofabed or daybed, so we will definitely be requesting the room numbers you suggested when it comes time.

Thanks again! :)

I managed to snag the AP discount for my September CL split stay! Doing 4 nights at Coronado - Gran Destino Tower in a Standard Room with Club Access and then 5 nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge in a Savanna View Club Level Access room. We've done AKL CL once before. It will be interesting to compare the experiences. I'll report back with reviews of both afterwards.
I will be eagerly waiting for your review. We just left AKL CL on Tuesday and are doing CSR Tower CL in November. We loved AKL, so I am also anxious to see how it compares. AKL was our first CL stay and everyone on here that has said it is addicting was right!!! My daughters are now asking if we are going to stay CL for all of our Disney trips.

Played with the numbers and that is exactly what happened. How was it resolved if you recall? Can I modify the reservation I already have (booked since room want) online? Should I call? Thanks for any insight

You mean the weekend at rack rate vs a discount?
It sort of resolves itself. By that it means the weekend discount comes and goes at random. Just gotta keep checking

ETA just a note that it helps other posters know how to answer when you quote what you are responding to.

I'd be happy to try to help, but your post is a bit fragmented and lacking the detail I'd need to give you an optimum answer. If what you discovered is that you have a weekend booked during your trip dates that is at rack rate due to the AP pricing not being discounted for Friday and Saturday nights, then history shows that, for whatever reason, Disney has been changing the weekends from being discounted to non-discounted and back again (although this price fluctuation has been no where near as frequent as what it was doing in late June/early July). If this is the case, then it's just a matter of keeping an eye on the rates each morning until the weekends go back to being discounted (could change tomorrow morning for all we know). When this occurs, you should be able to modify online, but could also call in. However, until the rates go back down, calling in won't do you any good as the CM can only book what the rate is showing; and right now the rates for weekends are not discounted (as of this morning).

Where did you see food offerings? I've been looking for reviews. I also remember reading somewhere that there were going to be cocktails offered but it didn't say exactly what. I'm so eager for reviews/any info!

We also did AKL CL as our first CL stay in January, I've heard so much about "getting hooked" and thought no way, I couldn't afford it. Now here we are with a CSR CL for Jan 2020 meanwhile we were supposed to be skipping next year! They are the only resorts where I find the price to be reasonable enough though.

Does anyone know if Gran Destino standard CL is available with a king bed or is it just 2 queens?

No kings :( I actually just emailed DSS about this yesterday.

I am looking for hotel room location layout. Wondering where all these "club access" rooms are. Really hoping for a MK fireworks view as we only plan to do one park day and at EP.

ITA with this advice. The last few years when we've checked for our dates the Poly discounts have been small, but the GF and the EP resorts have had much more generous discounts.

How long will your trip be? You mentioned that you're going during the F&G Festival -- that is my family's favorite of all the Fests! What we try to do when we take trips during Fests is a split stay between a MK resort and an EP one -- that way, during the EP part of our stay, we can pop over to EP quickly and easily and grab snacks/drinks from the booths...there are so many wonderful offerings during the Fests that we find it hard to fit them all in! One other bonus of this kind of a split stay is that the EP resorts are typically priced less than the MK ones, so you save some money but have the benefit of being able to walk to 2 parks while you're at your EP resort. We always plan our days so we're visiting MK/AK during the MK part of our stay, and EP/HS during the EP stay.

HTH! :)

I'm pulling my Daughter out of school for a few days her senior year so it will be either 5 or 6 days (depending on what she has to do that week). I personally I love Split Stays. My daughter not so much lol I wll defintely look at it though to see if it works out cost and timewise.

Based on the random rate checks I did, the weekend AP rates are back to being discounted this morning.

Although I don’t know your exact dates, the weekends at YC CL were included for the random dates I checked. You should definitely check as soon as you can and try to modify today, either online or by calling in.
