Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

How is YC CL? All these bad reviews of BC has me nervous about our upcoming stay. DH & I are taking our first adults only trip & our first CL stay. We wanted BWI, but it’s booked up.

YC CL is our favorite place to stay. The lounge is usually mostly adults with a few families with kids. On our last stay in April , we noticed they have really stepped up the food offereings. They had a short ribs with mashed potatoes that was absolutely delicious. Some of the best mashed potatoes I have ever eaten. And breakfast has mini quiche, crepes with strawberries, chocolate & whipped cream & a mini bread pudding with vanilla sauce. (Those alternate, they not all there everyday). This is in addition to pastries, breads & bagels for toasting, hard boiled eggs, a cold meat like ham or turkey, yogurt, oatmeal with toppings, fruit like berries, melons, bananas, etc & cold cereals.

Afternoons are house made chips or pita chips with dip, hummus with crudités, gold fish crackers, trail mix & gummy candy. I know some resorts have added some sandwich type foods in the afternoons but I have not read that for the YC. I’ll let you know in 4 days if that has changed. :goodvibes

Evening offerings are 2 or 3 cold salads in large serving bowls, such as caprese salad, broccoli slaw, multi bean salad, cold beets, mixed olive salad. There is also 1 small plated item: I remember a shrimp ceviche, sorry, can’t remember the others but that also varies daily. Hot offerings were things like a Mac & cheese bar with add ins, chicken skewers, salmon with grains & citrus sauce, pigs in a blanket with mustard & ketchup for dipping & the previously mentioned short ribs with mashed potatoes . :cloud9: There are always 2 hot offerings, the 3 cold items, 1 mini plated item, crudités with dip, cheese, crackers & peanut butter & jelly “shooters” with rolls. There are more variety, but that’s just what I remember right now. And don’t miss the mini hot apple pie at dessert time. That & a chocolate mickey flourless cake made me gain at least a few pounds, I’m sure. And there is now a small freezer with ice cream in the lounge that is new since our last visit.

The alcohol is served to you as other posters have said. We don’t drink so I can’t really say what they have. They have large containers of juice in the morning, iced tea & lemonade later in the day & a specialty drink, called sea breeze or something like that (non alcoholic) that is delicious.

We are stay to ourself kind of people & don’t need a lot of CM interaction. So we don’t like people fawning all over us when we come & go or are in the lounge. That is one reason we love the YC. The CMs are friendly & greet us as we come & go with a quick hello or have a nice day. They are always helpful & efficient when we do need something. The lounge CMs always have a smile but do their jobs quietly without being intrusive. There was only 1 day on our last visit that seemed strange where it took several minutes for the tables to be cleared & dirty plates were building up. The CMs at BWI CL get lots of praise for being friendly & outgoing, but that is actually a big reason we didn’t like BWI CL as much. We found some of them loud & a bit over the top for our liking.

:rotfl2:Sorry, look what happens when I start talking YC CL! I have posted some lounge photos back in April if you wan to look back for those & I will be reporting when we’re there next week. We’re doing a split with GF RPC as a special treat for our 40th anniversary. I really want to do RPC, but I’m already sad that we’ll only have 4 nights at YC. I know, you just can’t please some people. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Thank you so much for your detailed response! It sounds absolutely perfect. And all the food sounds amazing! Our personalities are probably similar to yours in that we appreciate friendly greetings & help when needed, but we'd rather not be overly waited on.
I'll definitely look back for your April photos & will look forward to hearing about your upcoming trip! Happy Anniversary, hope you have a wonderful time!!!

And here I’m the one that got in trouble for talking about YC CL too much. I see how it is. ;)

When I was looking online at booking at Grand Floridian, one of the options was an "Outer Bldg - Standard Room-Club Level Access" with "views of courtyard pool or marina."
Is that always in the "Sugarloaf Key" building? Or do they sometimes put CL guests in rooms in the other buildings and you have to walk to the Sugarloaf Key building for the club lounge?

Thanks!

Yes, that is the description of SL with those rooms located in the SL building :).

I am traveling 11/20-11/26 staying CL GF. Is it strange that I have not received a call or email from CL Services yet? Or is this not an all the time thing?
I have gotten a card in the mail for all of mine and sometimes a phone call. Others have not.

When did you book? If it was last year that might explain it.

Oh mine usually a week or two from when I book until I hear something.

Not everyone posting here reports hearing from Disney Signature Services (DSS). They now handle all Disney Club Levels prior to your arrival at the resort. If you have questions or need assistance, please call them at 407-939-7777 or via email at disney.signature.services@disneyworld.com

They're available seven days a week from 9 to 5 Eastern Time.

Unfortunately, it's hit or miss....some guests get a call and/or email, while others never hear a thing. If you have questions/concerns or need help with anything, you can always contact them :).

Great! I just wanted to be sure, thanks!

You're welcome :goodvibes.

I have tried to search the many, many posts, but just could not find a BWI specific post.

Can anyone share the highlights of the food offerings at Innkeepers? Did I read somewhere they have a special Sunday offering?

OK Thanks. I don;t even have specific questions or requests- not sure really what I can use them for really. Suggestions?

With today’s technology and abundant information available to any guest, there’s really not a ton of things a typical guest will really ‘need’ DSS for. Personally, we use them to add room requests to our reservation and to book things like resort pool cabanas, water park cabanas, and similar (eg, things that aren’t otherwise available to book myself online). They can also help with booking various tours (for example, we used them to book the Wanyama Safari at AK back in April). They are also used if one wants to book the Extra/Paid Trial FP program.

It’s not an earth-shattering amenity provided to CL guests (in my opinion) but it’s a nice resource to have available pre-arrival in certain select circumstances. We’ve certainly had trips where we didn’t need them/use them for anything at all pre-arrival as well.

I know lots of other folks have chimed in already with their experiences, but we had an AMAZING 8 day stay back in June @ YC CL... I cannot say enough good things about the various food offerings, the CM friendliness, and the overall service we experienced. We had not stayed CL before but for our party of 5, it was completely worth it. My kids love SAB and the ease of getting to HWS and EPCOT from the YC. My only negative (and truly, it wasn't anything major) is that the seating can be a little tight, depending on what time you go for either breakfast or evening "dinner" time. We figured that out on our first day and moved our times of visiting it around so that we didn't hit it during peak time.

DH And I are hitting the Contemporary CL in a couple of weeks for a trip for our 20th Anniversary (no kids on this trip!). I'll be interested in seeing how the CL there compares to our experience @ YC.

Have a terrific time!!
