Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I have tried to search the many, many posts, but just could not find a BWI specific post.

Can anyone share the highlights of the food offerings at Innkeepers? Did I read somewhere they have a special Sunday offering?

We have not been there since last summer but we love the food offerings at the BWI CL lounge. On Sunday they have someone making omelettes of your choice. They also have a bloody Mary station. In the evenings they have a chef preparing appetizers that were delicious. Maybe someone can give you more information that is more recent. Enjoy your stay at the BWI - we love it there.

Might be behind on this (if so I apologize).... do we know/have any reports from GF SL now that (I think) it has reopened?

May have just had a bit of resort changeritis so trying to figure out what I’ve done. :-)

Thanks!

Haven’t heard anything lately, I did mention it again the other day and @trishadono said she has an upcoming trip she was planning on driving a Semi Truck in to load it with all the info we need and pics of course..................:rotfl2:

I was able to get a 2 br villa at bwi for 1 night for the 4 of us. Boy researching that is crazy:faint: . I have been distracted with that so much I barely keeping up with anything else. :coffee:

OK, another question (thanks for your answers): can CL offerings take the place of meals? We're thinking of going CL for our visit next September and we are not getting the dining plan. We're wondering if it would save us on food expenses. Thanks!

We always eat breakfast in the lounge and I would consider that an actual meal replacement.

Lunch offerings are snacks: goldfish, chips, trail mix, gummies, etc, although some places have now started providing soup at lunch time (GF) and with some side items like bread or some fruit and a glass of wine, I would consider that a meal. Poly has also been offering chicken or shrimp lettuce wraps at lunchtime, and to me, that is a meal.

Dinnertime/cocktail hour usually consists of fruit, a vegetable tray, a couple salads, bread, and two hot items, among other things. Sometimes there is a nightly soup, depending on where you are (GF or CR?). This might not be a meal for some people but it is plenty for those with lighter appetites and is a good way to end the day if you have already eaten a big lunch at the parks or whereever.

It may save money in terms of actually purchasing less food and snacks, but you are balancing the cost of a deluxe resort and the additional CL charge so I wouldn't consider it 'saving' money unless you use Disney Math. Which I do.

I would never get a dining plan while staying CL. This question gets asked a lot and people are always warned that it is 'too much food'. Most who report back admit that it is. Better to schedule lunches if you plan on attending cocktail hour and go from there. You may find that it is more relaxing to skip a formal dinner in favor of going to cocktail hour in the lounge and supplementing with a snack or CS to share later if you are still hungry.

On check out day, do you have access to the CL lounge until midnight or does your access shut off once you check out and/or check in to another resort (if doing a split stay).

Well, I'm hoping to get a deep discount for our CL stay around next Labor Day. That's the only way it'd work for us -- and I'm kind of thinking that we could make up the cost of CL in beer and wine alone! We have to wait and see what the actual cost is and then decide. Thanks for your input! I have a feeling that for my family, it would offset how much we spend on food.

I find it interesting of the 4 resorts I was considering staying at this year Club Level the Grand Floridian was the cheapest. Poly most expensive, Contemporary next and WL and GF practically the same price. I know availability has a lot to do with it but quite surprised that the GF was the cheapest. I am using a PIN CODE but even comparing the current Magical Holidays offer I get the same result.

Just curious, which room and view types are you comparing? It doesn’t surprise me that GF SL is cheaper than some view categories at Poly and CR and in line with WL. If you’re getting a much cheaper rate on GF RPC than say, Poly TPV, that’s a good deal!

Yes, typically CL food takes the place of 2 meals each day for us.
We enjoy breakfast in the lounge every day and have never found it difficult to be around sometime between 5:00 and 7:00 to eat appetizers, which make our dinner. We rarely make it to the lounge for desserts
We eat Lunch TS.
We also enjoy several beers or glasses of wine each day. Likely even a mimosa at breakfast. At an avg of $100 a day additional for CL rooms, we easily save that on food and beverages.
Only you know if your touring style affords you to be in the lounge at a time to eat. This is really the more important question. Not if they are replacements for meals, but if you can be there to eat.

Yes, definitely. We spend most of our time at MK and Epcot which is why we're thinking the Poly would be convenient. Plus that time if year it's so hot that we will take afternoon breaks almost every day.

We are staying at GF CL and arriving to the resort around noon (assuming no flight delays). We are hoping to head to the lounge and eat "lunch" before heading to the parks so that we don't have to spend time and $ eating lunch elsewhere. Is this realistic in terms of lunchtime offerings? Do they have food available at noon, or is it more snacks only?

When I was there in May they had soup everyday, with the usual snacks like chips and gummies. There may have been fruit and vegetables? I forget already! Aside from the soup, it is mostly snacks. Ask for a glass of wine to make sure you get all of your food groups.

Definitely more of a value if there are more than two people in the room.

My kids would want a lunch but dh and I found the soup, veggies, cheeses n meats etc more than enough.

I love soup so it worked , my adult kids want more like a taco, chicken or burger,

I wil say gf has the best mid day. Poly now has lettuce wraps which also is a nice "snack" or "light meal" midday. All the others only have snacks.

That's why I have so many gf stays . Often it's cheaper and BETTER.
