Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

The issue of an open beer vs an unopened beer or any alcohol container has to do with the type of liquor license that covers the individual establishments. The official policy is that all containers should be opened and consumed on the premises. No package offerings as a "to go" option.

Our experience has also been quite varied over the years and as noted can be very inconsistent day to day and resort to resort. We have had many CL CMs offer us multi beers in unopened containers to take back to our room. Others would offer 1 opened and 1 closed per adult while the last group insisted that all must be opened before leaving the lounge!

This is very standard that Disney is very inconsistent. Not for lack of having rules or policies but because humans are all different and each interaction is often unique. As a friendly reminder; we always use the question, when is the 3 PM parade? It still makes the family laugh...

I agree there may be different policies in CL lounges. It may have to do with liquor licenses or laws because Monorail resorts were built long before the Epcot resorts.

What I disagree with is that the reason Disney is inconsistent is because of humans being different. It is Disney not consistently enforcing its rules and policies. Any company that does not enforce their policies will have inconsistent answers. There will be several reasons. Poor training of rules to begin with. Not having consequences if not following rules is another reason. I think both of these combined is why we all get different answers from CM's no matter what department they work for.

We took the leap and switched out CR Garden room to a CL Atrium room. Finished out all our CL stays, we've done them all now. CR was fine somewhere in the mix with AKL and WL I guess. Which are above Poly and GF, which are at the bottom for us. Lounge was really small. Shockingly. We purposefully are off times

And we are currently sitting in the WL lounge area. Enjoying beer on tap. Which should be added to all CL

Which CL would be your favorite and which feature makes that particular CL ranked top on your list?
We stayed at GF in the main building recently and it was our first CL on property.
The ambiance in the main building was nice, but a little bit too "proper" to relax on a Disney vacation.

Our service was so bad it was a one and done for us! I was really looking forward to it too. If we ever stay in the Epcot area again we will stay BWI.

BWI CL is great! We've never stayed BC CL so I can't compare the two, but BWI CL has the friendliest CMs, great food, and a nice quaint atmosphere. I definitely recommend trying it ;).

We love the BWI CL - IMO the CMs are the tops - plus the appetizers are wonderful. I would definitely give it a try.

:thumbsup2

85 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope the time goes fast for you :goodvibes.

I've never really been able to directly pick one thing that makes BWI my "home"/favorite resort. Both for CL and non CL. It just felt right from our first stay. If you've ever gone house hunting you may know what I mean. When you walk in the house that is the one you usually know right away and often it's not perfect. But it does have great food, attentive staff and a good central location with a comfortable price point. We even fell in love before they started the chef cooking in the lounge.

YES! The cm at BC actually told me I was wrong and none of their properties give unopened beers. I told her we had them at Poly. She told me I was mistaken. Who tells I guest they are wrong. My husband said they did. She told us that if it was true, the cm broke a rule and wasn't supposed to and not to tell anyone that's one of the many reasons I didn't like the BC. Like I'm lying to scam a beer o_O
I had the EXACT same conversation with the CL manager at AKL a few years ago. He basically called me a liar. AKL is my fave resort (for atmosphere) but I will not stay CL there again, or at least not for a very long time, due to the way that man made me feel. Very sad, really.

It's really a shame that he made you feel like that and we both experienced it. I love BC location and my kids loved the pool.. never again though. My kids didn't love it either. A guest yelled at my 11yo son (i was in the room and he was with my 14yo) for wearing a bathing suit and tshirt in the lounge (dry mind you). They were just grabbing a soda. There were cms present who didn't say anything. I didn't know until after the trip it happened. My 11yo wouldn't go to the lounge at all after that (even with me) and he didn't tell me what happened until we got home. My ods confirmed that this women really did yell at him ( he's my honest responsible one). My ods went to the lounge for my youngest the rest of the trip. He loves the lounge so I didn't think there were ulterior motives. Still makes me mad.

I'm guessing it was a guest based on what they said and for the fact I can't see a cm yelling especially when adults were in bathing suits.

A bad experience can definetely sour you to a resort. In my case that is AKL. Booked a Savannah view room and upon arrival was given a room all the way at the end of the hall with a fence in front (ie NO ANIMALS). Went back to CM at front desk and complained saying thats all they had. Asked for a supervisor who miraculously gave me a choice of Savannah view rooms. Whole experience was ruined from the start. Sure it looks nice and the animals are cool and all but the rooms are tiny and the walks are long. So for me AKL is a never again. Ill only visit the restaurants which are good.

:yay:Just booked a trip for November 18-24. We are taking my Dad with us on this trip. He looks just like Mr Fredrickson from UP. :D We were able to book savanna view club level. My Dad loves animals so he will be over the moon excited at this resort.

Thanks to all of you that have posted recent trips from AKL club level and for sharing your amazing pictures of the club level offerings. We are so excited.

Next trip is September 30th-October 6th at GF. (My birthday trip) DH and myself will also convert our park tickets to AP’s.

Then our trip Thanksgiving week to celebrate our love for Disney with my Daddy.

Can someone post, or link me to a post, regarding the valet laundry services? Looking at costs to get a couple shirts washed mid-trip - Staying YC CL if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

While GF RPC and/or SL and BWI are my personal favorites..I would highly recommend Poly CL for a CL with a more relaxed vibe...in fact the whole resort has that vibe...and the views from the CL lounge..morning noon or nite are wonderful!

After years of being huge monorail resort fans..and really considering the GF the place that gave us that home feeling..I took a trip with my aunt who loves the BWI...and after that stay..I wondered what took us so long to get over to the Epcot resorts..and I too absolutely love the BWI..CL or non...in fact its the only resort that I will stay at non CL...I think the Bellevue Lounge is a hidden gem..with terrific breakast options..coffee..and atmosphere...like you..I cannot put my finger on it.. (could it be the lovely lobby...the wonderful back ground music thats always playing..the beautiful grounds?? the boardwalk itself??..I'm not sure)...the but it's "something" that just makes us want to stay there again and again...so now instead of one Disney resort that feels like home...we have two! :flower:
ETA...we did finally try BC recently..and altho it was nice enough..one and done for us...which is why it's great that there are so many nice and different resorts to choose from at WDW....

Question for anyone who has stayed club level on Thanksgiving day. Will the afternoon offerings on Thanksgiving be the normal style of food for that resort or do they usually have a thanksgiving theme for the offerings such as turkey?

We were unable to book a dinner reservation for the traditional Thanksgiving meal, so we were just planning to enjoy Animal Kingdom lodge club level that evening. We will be having lunch at Tiffins at animal kingdom park and will return back to the resort.

For me, it doesn’t matter. I am just so happy I don’t have to cook that monstrosity of a meal this year.
:worship:Thank you Disney

How is YC CL? All these bad reviews of BC has me nervous about our upcoming stay. DH & I are taking our first adults only trip & our first CL stay. We wanted BWI, but it’s booked up.

I am not a YC pro.... have only stayed there one night this past July..so take what I say with a grain of salt. In short, we really enjoyed our brief time there.... so much so we have a return trip booked in the near future.

I wrote about our night here, if helpful: Yacht Club CL - July 2018

All resorts/CLs need multiple nights to really get a feel for the ebbs and flows.... so I need to reserve full judgement for more experience.. but we left with positive vibes.
