Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Here is our review of the Contemporary Resort Tower Club Level 1 bedroom suite Bay Lake View. Sorry in advance but this is a long review.

When we walked into the lobby there was a long line for check in. We had done online check in but because you need access to the Tower floor we could not go in without checking in at the main lobby since our magicbands didn’t work. We waited about 15 minutes on line before someone came to ask if we needed help since the line wasn’t moving. They escorted us to someone else at the front desk and he checked us in. He had someone escort us upstairs and introduced us to the CM Shante at the desk. Our room wasn’t ready so we relaxed in the lounge. Shante got us welcome drinks. She had Shirley Temples for the kids and Champagne for those over 21. :flower1: That was a lovely touch. We got the room ready text at 1pm – room 4907. When we got to the door 3 of 6 of our magicbands didn’t work. Only 3 of our kids worked. We had to go back to the CM Shante to fix the magicbands (I have to say this was definitely a problem throughout our stay since we changed hotels 3 times).

Now to the room – wow! It was a 1 bedroom suite with 2 full bathrooms. The room was so impressive. We are a family of 6 and love when we can get a room to fit all of us but this was anything beyond our expectations.

When you walk into the suite there is a full bathroom to the left with a stall shower and a separate area for the toilet. There are closets on either side of the main door to the suite. Each closet had a light that went on when you opened the door.

Then you enter into the living which had a pull out couch that had to be a king size bed. We had never seen a king sized pull out couch before. (We measured it). Two of our kids slept on it and said it was so comfortable. (I didn't get a good picture of the couch but I cut one from a video I took. My kids were sleeping in it.) There were two chairs in the living room with a big TV.

The kitchen area of the room had a large round table with 5 chairs. There was a desk and chair in that room as well. In the kitchen area there is a full sized refrigerator with an ice maker. That was the gem – we used that ice a lot. The room also had a Keurig machine, sink and microwave.

The main bedroom had 2 queen beds with a very long closet. There was a desk and chair in the room. The bathroom was big with a tub/shower and a separate room for the toilet. On a side note I have to say that we were shocked to see that neither toilet in the suite had a lid for it. We teach our kids to always close the lid before flushing for sanitary reasons yet these toilets had no lids. It was definitely strange to us. I just felt that the room couldn’t be that clean without a lid.

The bedroom had a separate entrance from the hall. There was a porch the size of the whole suite – from the master bedroom to the living room. It was huge. On one side of the porch there was a round table with 4 chairs and the other side had 2 lounge chairs that we used often. How relaxing it was to wake up and lounge out there with a cup of coffee. As much as we love a MK view – we love the Bay view more than the MK view. It was so relaxing.

The 1 bedroom suite was truly a blessing. We loved everything about the room and the service that came with it. We loved staying on the Atrium level but the level of service on the Tower level was above and beyond any service we had on the Atrium level. I know there are less guests on the Tower level so it easier to get a higher level of service but it just made the whole stay unbelievable. The housekeeping was wonderful. Zaida was so sweet and helped us with whatever we needed. I guess she didn’t expect us to get to the room as early as we did and while we first got there she knocked on the door and then introduced herself and dropped off some supplies and said she had to finish stocking. That is service.

Our stay at the CR Tower level was truly magical. On our second night when we got back to the room there was a welcome platter of desserts with some chocolates made into a monorail. That was a wonderful surprise. With all the other wonderful services I do wish they would change the way you enter. I wish either someone was waiting to escort us up as it was when we checked into the AKL CL prior on this trip or that we could go straight up using our magicband from online check in. We couldn’t get that straight. The CM in the lobby said our magicbands would work yet the CM on the Tower floor said your magicbands will not work until your room is ready. We loved the CR Tower CL 1 bedroom suite and the service that came with it. We will be back. Thanks for reading and I will review the lounge food in a separate post!IMG_6206sm.jpg IMG_6208sm.jpg IMG_6210sm.jpg IMG_6215sm.jpg IMG_6216sm.jpg

Beach Club wouldn't give us unopened beers last summer either. Such a disappointment.

Same. We could request that they keep the caps on the bottle, though.
And, since these are the kind of caps that you unscrew to open, well… guess what happens when you screw the caps back? :rolleyes1

Review of the CR Tower Club lounge

As for the Tower club level lounge – we were told that the food on the Tower level is exactly what the Atrium level has. If that is so then the Contemporary definitely changed what they serve for the better. The food was wonderful but I have to say the most outstanding of the servings - was the desserts.

For breakfast they had bagels, lox and all spreads for that, assorted meats and cheeses, hard boiled eggs, Danish (under a heater), breads, oatmeal and all the fixings, plain and strawberry yogurt with honey and granola, cereals and fresh fruit. The breakfast proteins changed daily.

For snacks they had cookies under a heater, homemade potato chips, gummy bears, gold fish, granola and make your own trail mix.

For Hor d’oeuvres they had meats and cheeses, vegetable crudité, a different soup per day, a bean salad, a meat dish, a shrimp dish, Peanut butter and jelly with rolls on the side, macaroni and cheese. Everything was delicious. We really enjoyed Hor d'oeuvres but only got to have them one night. It was a great spread.

For Desserts they had different truffles daily, each day there was a different dessert shot (we saw a peanut butter one, a banana pineapple one, and a berry one), cookies, a daily cookie bar, there was a different specialty cake daily but the best part was a fresh fruit sorbet daily. The daily sorbet was so refreshing – we all loved it. Their desserts were truly the best desserts on any CL lounge hands down - we made it to dessert most nights.

We absolutely loved the Tower level of the Contemporary Resort. We loved it so much after 2 days I turned to my husband and said we have to extend our stay – so we went to the CM and asked if our room was available and yes it was. We surprised the kids and they were so excited.

The lounge is not big but the lounge was never crowded while we were there. We were the most people in the lounge at times maybe 1 other family. Two nights we watched HEA from the lounge and we were the only ones on the porch.

This is truly at the top of our CL experiences and we will be back.

Thank you for sharing. Your room looks amazing. We have a king room booked for October. Your posts have made me even more excited. It is our first time at the CR.

Thanks for your detailed review, as well as all of the great pics. Glad you had a great time and were able to spend an extra night :).

I know out of the whole room we loved the balcony the best. So beautiful.

The suite looks amazing and the view from the balcony is so beautiful and peaceful :cloud9:.

@DisneyFansInNYC love the pictures and the review. I would love to stay CR CL, but instead we're staying at GF CL starting Sunday because I got 40% off with my passholder discount. I'm always looking for a bargain. Some day we'll do CR if the price is right. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
I think you will manage just fine:yay: I would love to stay GF one day but my husband and kids think it's too girly for them lol. I need that 40% to convince my husband.

Thank you for your post. I have to say it exceeded my expectations. It was truly wonderful. I loved the quietness of the lounge which I am sure can change depending on people staying there. The variety of the food throughout the day was wonderful. Please come back and let us know how your stay was.

I am jealous of your 40% passholder discount. This summer the discounts weren't that great. Thank you for your kind words and enjoy your stay. Please come back and let us know how it was.

Thank you for your kind words. The view was wonderful. I enjoy this view more than the TPV - since you get that view in the lounge.

We took the leap and switched out CR Garden room to a CL Atrium room. Finished out all our CL stays, we've done them all now. CR was fine somewhere in the mix with AKL and WL I guess. Which are above Poly and GF, which are at the bottom for us. Lounge was really small. Shockingly. We purposefully are off times

And we are currently sitting in the WL lounge area. Enjoying beer on tap. Which should be added to all CL
